Good review. I bought mine on a great sale in 2021 and just set it up this weekend. Will try some frozen fries this weekend. Gave away my bbq a few years ago and have been using a two and three burner camp chef griddle on the deck. Got tired of packing up for car camping all the time so picked this one up. Can't wait to try it.
This is a great review, fantastic video friend. I agree with pretty much everything you said. Also your logo on the top looks sweet I'm super jealous. Thanks for tagging me in the description, great video and a great channel.
Thanks for watching man! Anything you disagree with??? Also, want me to send you a metal logo? I’m sure my buddies wouldn’t mind making one! We should get together for an epic griddle party in the future!
@@BeergrYT I totally agree with everything. And if I ever decide on a logo I'll definitely have to hit your buddy up, thank you. And yes and epic griddle party sounds like fun man!
I have had a Camp Chef FTG475 (a now discontinued 3 burner they used to make) since 2018. It's pretty much the same thing minus the grill grate underneath and less real estate for a cooking surface. The newer 600's do have the lid now I believe. It's not really a deal breaker for me, but I can understand why it would be for some people. A really great detailed review on this, man!
Thank you 🙏! It’s been such a busy winter I haven’t used mine at all and that makes me sad! I usually do use it in my garage over the winter. I have to do better 😂
Haha, I feel you! I neglect mine at times too. Considering everything you have going on with the new Beergr box launch and planning those next streams, regular content videos, and whatever else you have going on in daily life, it's pretty understandable. I am sure you will fire it up again in due time. Thanks for the response. :)
Love your videos, I just bought one in Canada on sale for 550.00 on sale at Peavy mart. I noticed you had the grates on underneath the griddle should I leave them on and put the griddle on top. Just put it together looking forward to my first time 👍
@@BeergrYT Fantastic! I Feel like a kid on Christmas morning. I didn’t catch on the video we’re you got your steel cover from.washing and seasoning now.
Hey thanks. I may just fabricate my own. These are tough to get in Canada. Sams club only sells blackstone doubtful anything they make would fit. I have seen Etsy ones with duty, taxes and shipping it’s ridiculous. Cheers.
These are $1,000 AUD. If you want a lid that’ll be an extra $200 AUS. Outdoors cover, another $120 AUD. Yeah, nah. I purchased Char-Griller flat iron 600 premium for $750 AUD instead. Still not cheap though but griddles aren’t as popular here in Australia as they are in the US.
That's unfortunately the main issue I've seen. Obviously has not happened to me in over a year but it seems to mainly happen when users "warm up" their griddle on high or when cooking on med-high to high for longer periods of time. (Not saying that's what you did!) Be sure to contact Camp Chef and they will send you a replacement.
@White Noise TV Yeah that can do it for sure. I have actually never cooked on high, I get 500+ degree temps just cooking on low which is perfect for searing on a griddle top. They will send you a new one, it may take some time but they will 👍
The plate that is welded to the underside of the griddle has broken loose on mine. I've called and called but have never had anyone answer. Called once an hour for 5 days ,on hold 15 minutes. Hang up call back an hour later, same. I guess I'll eventually get through. But I love cooking on this thing. I'd buy it again
@@BeergrYT that's terrific...part of the reason Ive been researching this particular griddle is to have an all year round method of cooking outside. I live in the Midwest and my house has awful ventilation in the kitchen, so outside cooking would be very useful

Great review. I've watched a couple of The Flat Top Kings videos and they are quite good.
Thanks for watching!
Just seasoned mine after putting it together awhile ago. Good review and looking forward to cooking with it.

Great video. Nice touch suggesting other TH-camrs.

@@danryan4137 Hey sorry, I missed your reply! I got mine on Etsy but there are a few links in the description for various cover options :)

The Camp Chef now comes with a dome cover!
I just saw that last week! You can get it with or without now.
Just paid $379 without the grates. Right on the camp chef website.
Nice!!!

The new model has a much beefier, heavier and well-designed lid
How easy is it to transport?
I’ve put it my truck several times, just take the griddle top off first and it’s super light! The side shelves fold down too!
Get the pizza oven attachment 💪🏼
I’ve definitely given that some thought but I have two other grills that I make pizza with so it just didn’t make sense. Maybe though, maybe… 😂
Sounds like Erie!
Hahaha how'd ya guess?
Mine warped badly after about 10 uses.

Great vid.....can you run this griddle on a cold winter day (20 degrees?) and cook chicken breasts etc?
Absolutely, just use it on low from start to finish, it will get hot enough. I made a video awhile ago making chicken piccata in the winter time.
