I have the luxury of having my implements inside on a cement floor and use home made dollies to set them on and move them around for storage. This also makes the install seem less stressful! Works great if you have the space/time to make them.
I have the M4. Love it! My guess is you have a 12 speed transmission. I have the 12. It’s perfect for me. They have this tractor in 24 speed and that will do what you need. In your case, add the creeper option. Kubota sells the rear wiper kit. Worth it and easy to install! Exceptional tractor!
I have said this a bunch of times, I purchased a Dirt Dog Tiller from your company and absolutely LOVE it! It was great to see it in action on your channel and smiling to see the same great results. Keep up the great work! Thank You!
1 thing you can do is run in e pto. It will allow you to still run the 540 with lower rpm which will run just a little slower ground speed. Wont be much but will help
I have 4 tractors and numerous implements. I have a 84: rototiller too. Tilling is one of my lest favorite because it is so slow and boring. Nothing compares to almost every phase of making round hay bales.
The rocks are gonna end up being home to many weeds. I recommend putting down a ground cover before hand. Leave it bare. Maybe put a skid on top of the ground cover to place the implement on. We use the ground cover on our channel for our garden and multiple other things. So useful
The tractor I use on the rototiller does 1.7 mph in 1st gear. For an established garden it does ok but for something new you go over it 4 times a different direction each time 😆
Yes, I have the M7060 12 spd and probably need to add the creeper gear. 7ft tiller and it's too fast in low first. It works, but it would be nice to go half the speed.
The gearing was one of my least favorite things about my dad's old Jubilee. 1st gear, 1,000 RPM was 1.87 mph. Any lower RPM and it would stall under load. The 16-speed shuttle New Holland Boomer 40 he replaced it with seems to barely move in 1st.
I feel your pain. I bought a tiller and it was almost useless with the old Ford. They made a hi/low transmission but those are pretty scarce. Finally replaced it with a 2920 Kubota. Problem solved.
Suggestion to pass on to accessorie suppliers to install lifting points / rings as part of the equipment it's a given that farm equipment going to lifted and transported either job to job or to shop or even loaned out would be nice to factory lifting points to keep balanced and hopefully not twist ot otherwise damage unit
Hey Courtney, that Kabota’s got a hydrostatic transmission in it doesn’t it you could always pull back on the amount of pressure you’re putting on the pedal that would slow everything down and not do any harm
My L2850 low range is just ridiculously low,, I can’t really see it being good for anything unless your trying to pull a house. I absolutely love my tractor
Why did you put the P.T.O. shaft on the ground, you should have a chain hanger to put around it to keep the dirt out of the U joints... Run a chain across from the lower lift points to place the shaft... 🤔🤔👍💪
I just bought a brand new John Deere S100 model and I have to hold my foot on a pedal to cut my grass and when I hit the bumps it slows the Tractor Down because I come off the seat kills the engine and lift my foot I like the old-fashioned Gear transmission with a clutch much better for cutting grass
My Kioti RX7320 is a little tight on the pin engagement with some of my front QA attachments. After I have then mounted, I raise the loader, tip the forks / bucket/ etc down, then waggle the loader 3 or four times like Im dumping a bucket of sticky soil. Then the pins seem to wiggle, vibrate, and seat into place quite a bit better. I had a front QA boom pole pop off once when (trying to lift too much) and I think it was because the chinesium attachment flexed a lot, and perhaps was seated with pins only partway because cheep low quality tolerances.
Yeah, not sure why I have issues with this Kubota. Even the OEM Kubota bucket. Perhaps there's a metal burr or something that has enough friction to hold it up from easily seating.
Is there an option for a 1000rpm pto shaft. If there is I would run with that with a 1000 to 540 pto adapter so you can run the engine at a lower rpm and ground speed while maintaining a pto speed that is fairly close to the proper rpm of a 540 implement.
I completely agree! I have the speeco quick hitch and it won't work on several of my older attachments so I bought the pats system and love it. Works on everything. My quick hitch is now just sitting inside my building. Guess I should sell it
Ive got the same kubota you do and we are having some strange noises in the cab. It almost sounds like a bypass for hydrolics. When we are working with it, it gets really loud that you cant ignore it anymore. It only stops when you hit the brakes. So im wondering if you are having the same issues.
Not only that but when we but the bucket flat on the ground and curl the bucket down like you would be dumpling, it struggles and doesn't lift the tractor off of its front tires. I'm not sure if yours does that too or it is just ours.
I have same tractor, I run closer to 3 mph with a 8ft tiller, but why would you want to go slower? Mine is the 12 speed deluxe, yours might be the 8 speed. One bad thing you had going on was the tillering was tilted back too far causing it to jump and not till smooth.
3 mph with a tiller is ridiculously fast. Definitely not recommended. Mine is the 12 speed. Tilting back isn't bad, it didn't cause it to jump. I talked about adjusting on the fly with the hydraulic top link in the video. I also talked about the creeper gear in the video.
@@GoodWorksTractors can’t tell you then I do it all the time in 3 rd gear. Might be my tiller that’s able to do it. When the top link loosens and it tilts back it starts not cutting well. Most times I disc first. Your dry ground might be a limitation too though
I was always told, try to plow and till when the ground is fit (makes a soft ball but leaves none on the hand) and no big systems in the forecast. Less chance of losing any of the dirt you've worked so hard for. Take care brother.
What's my line? SHOULDA BOUGHTA DEERE! lolz it don't matter what the tractor is, every owner will find a complaint. That said if you can't till with it...I'd have some select short words in long combinations.
A long time ago my dad bought a howard rotovator. It had a set of gears that could be swapped. That tiller did a great job behind his mf 135. Fast forward to 2022. I have that 135 which I cherish. Unfortunately I don't have that howard tiller. I buy a new tiller reccommended by a dealer. It does a crappy shallow job even with multiple passes. Im thinking of buying a hydro tractor for tilling. I would rather have a multigear tiller like that old howard.
I have a new kioti RX7320, what width tiller do you recommend. My 6' box blade does not cover the rear tire tracks and I'm at the narrowest wheel setting. Will a 7' be ok?
I have a Kubota L 4701 HST that has what I call working cruise and I can set it so slow that the tires barely turn, I mean this thing makes a sloth look fast lol
I have the luxury of having my implements inside on a cement floor and use home made dollies to set them on and move them around for storage. This also makes the install seem less stressful! Works great if you have the space/time to make them.
I'd need a warehouse the size of my business for all these attachments! 😂
@@GoodWorksTractors It’s only money…😎
Hmm, I now feel spoiled by my 1025r and it's smaller, more wrasle-able implements.
❤

Good video. The verse at the end was one i needed when I awakened from a dream last night angry. Thank you
Awesome, funny how that works out!

Gotta love the cab out of the dust.......
I agree, made it exponentially more enjoyable.
A nice combination of tractor and tools for a good looking job.
Thanks DED!

the beauty of hooks and chains
Maybe use a disc on new ground and existing ground to break it up and put less wear on your tiller
Good information.
Thanks Karl
It's nice when the pins aren't bound up
Lucked out this time around, first try
Im glad you are a Kubota man now
I'm a tractor man!
That dirt dog works great 👍
Sure did!
I have 4 tractors and numerous implements. I have a 84: rototiller too. Tilling is one of my lest favorite because it is so slow and boring. Nothing compares to almost every phase of making round hay bales.
I love the before to after results of tilling.
@@GoodWorksTractors Me too but if you are in a very large field it gets boring lol.
The rocks are gonna end up being home to many weeds. I recommend putting down a ground cover before hand. Leave it bare. Maybe put a skid on top of the ground cover to place the implement on. We use the ground cover on our channel for our garden and multiple other things. So useful
Wow. That is not a issue you would ever think would be the thing that occur. I love my tiller on my 2038R.

Yeah, you would think a plethora of low end ratios would trump all the mid and higher gears.

Does the Kubota have an economy pto mode? If it does use that you'll be running less RPM and the tractor won't go as fast.
Great idea having places to store the hydraulics out of the elements!
Did you have to trim the length of the PTO shaft?
1/4", just shave off the end.
Hey Courtney, that Kabota’s got a hydrostatic transmission in it doesn’t it you could always pull back on the amount of pressure you’re putting on the pedal that would slow everything down and not do any harm
It's a gear drive
Haha c'mon mate
My L2850 low range is just ridiculously low,, I can’t really see it being good for anything unless your trying to pull a house. I absolutely love my tractor
what is a good plow size for the Kubota M4-071? 3 bottom or 4 bottom? I would like to go 4 bottom if possible
It doesn't have the creeper gear does it.
Why did you put the P.T.O. shaft on the ground, you should have a chain hanger to put around it to keep the dirt out of the U joints... Run a chain across from the lower lift points to place the shaft... 🤔🤔👍💪
I agree...look close at that shaft. It's like 6' long, probably weighs 100 lbs or more. I got a concrete block and put it at the far end.
Sometimes Creepers are an option. People that do a lot of tilling and slow loader work usually by hydrostat trans. Way better for mowing, too.
Could you cheat it by backing off the throttle enough and it not effecting the pto rpm's?

I added the creeper gear to mine
It does go too fast for tilling virgin soil

Use the economy pto same out put less engine rpm
The Pat's Quick Change would have dropped right out from under that implement. They work just like a a quick hitch.

My dad has a 9' tiller he can run 4 mph with it. It blows my mind how fast he can go and get good results in clay with it.

You really ought to store your attachments on pallets. Makes life much easier when you need to move things around when you want to reorganize or mow.
95% of my attachments are stored on pallets.
There is a TH-cam channel that does a lot of stuff for Kubota tractors different attachments etc it's called Paul and Kathy short
Going to be in the market for a tiller for my 1025R is a 48 inch the size I should get 🤔. I live in Northern New Hampshire do you ship here.
Yes sir, you’ll want a 48”. Shipping is included to New Hampshire.

Hehe, can make a mess :)
What you need is a FERRARI COBRAM, or ANTONIO CARARO tractors with a spading machine.
Seems like you’ve been really unhappy with the M4-071D
Good thing your bro decided to wear pants for the video 😂
Haha, "proper work attire"
