I mixed four diamonds as well as four blue dreams about a year ago and they bred like crazy to the point I had to sell them to my local pet shop, the curly haired fellow who works in the aquarium section couldn't believe how beautiful the shrimp I sold them were, ended up leaving with over three hundred and fifty dollars, crazy how much these little guys can go for when they have very deep colours
Could you actually bred them together? What do you classify them as, blue dreams or blue diamonds? Do you get the velvets in the offspring other weird combinations?
You mentioned Black Rose and Chocolate ancestors... do you have any info on the relationship of those? The piterrr chart doesn't show a relationship for those (and it appears to have the diamonds/dreams different as well). I'd love to get your view on them.
Don't use the charts as a reference they are not accurate. But if you selective breed chocolate shrimp for darker pigment you will end up with black rose.
actually really like the light blue. some look turquoise almost, with the extra bit of greenish on the back. lol i want to just straight up buy some of those, though i know they aren't what breeders are trying to get and are considered culls.....
Hey bro ! Just dropped an order! Order a bunch of black tibees! Also got some yellow and blue neos for my little one . Awesome content you got on here my guy. Blessings and have a wonderful week!
dude totally awsome video!!! - totally explain why I ended up with a black and white "panda" neo's. I pulled my blue "dreams" to a new tank, maybe now they're blue diamonds...?
Not yet hopefully here in the next month or so but it's basically the same cherry would be like blue dreams and bloody marry come from chocolates like blue diamonds
Great video. I have Blue Dream shrimp (I think), I wanted to add more Blue Dream, but if the new ones end up Blue Diamond, do you know the two breed and colour of babies? Thanks.
I just got some Blue Neo recently and just had babies but too small to tell yet (other than some are blue). So I guess I wont know till I see the babies better which I have.
I've copied your racking system only got painted fire reds in a 10 gallon at min then a 2ft cull tank with my lower grades but taking it slowly going to add a tank a month
I have blue velvet having the light browns. I have some velvets that are so so dark you can only tell they are blue by the blue legs. Very confused about blue velvet line and why I'm getting browns.
So, will blue dream and blue diamond lead to all wilds? I wasn't happy with the quality of the dreams i bought (sky blue color with dark patches). I ended up buying some from a local seller and that seller's dreams colors were so much darker. The seller told me that she crossed the diamonds and dreams together to get a certain color.
I have had great success so far crossing dreams and diamonds. I know my clients appreciate a certain color payoff and so far so good, without any wild colors!
I remember when I was younger and bought some cherry shrimp and manged to get a few blue, black and yellow ones from the red cherry shrimp after about a year. It was amazing. Yeah the majority of the baby shrimps were red. It's hard to try to breed so the recessive colours shows up, but the more the one is trying the higher the success will be.

Glad to know you bred them & they didn’t come out brown like most mixed species. Cuz I’m gonna have both as well.

I did get the odd yellow or brown one occasionally but most of them were beautiful dark blues

I am cycling my new tank set up
I am getting blue dreams
So excited!
I love shrimp and this colour is breath taking !
Very nice!
Wonderful explanation. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I have the Bloody Mary’s so I’ll be interested in hearing more about them.
Will try and get to bloody marry next month when we get back from Dallas aquashella
good knowledge, now i need more tanks to experiment.
More tanks is always the answer!
Ya if you don't want more tanks after watching my videos I'm doing a bad job
@_@ Can I request a flow chart for the blue dreams lineage xD cuz I just got whip lash while you describe it lmao
Maybe one day
@@thegardenofederI would like this too, cuz all I find doesn't put it like you describe 🤔🤯
Great info...can't wait to see the updated Shrimp Room Tour !!
Will have to wait till we get the new rack done before we do another tour video
They look pretty similar in the thumbnail, Grant 🤔
The video was very interesting though!
That was kinda the point but maybe I should change it up
Thanks Man! Working with shrimp but not at all. Mostly fish in my 25+ Years in the hobby. Very food video
Thank you!
I am new to this hobby, your channel is what I need. 👍

Aw I have blue dream and it gave a very sky blue shrimp. He’s the sweetest. If I ever see him on the surface I offer my finger and he climbs on me 🥲

What substrate are you using? Love the look of uniform granules
Samurai soil

I like the blue velvets also it's just a shame there isn't many true lines out there anymore

Do you have avideo about the difference between red cherry and bloody mary

Really helpful as always.
Thanks for watching!
At what size should you start going through your shrimp for cull and good colours?
At 1 cm
how do you catch individual shrimp for culling?
Lure them out with food and some nice skills with the net
What would you get if you put booths lines together into a new line?
The black rose genes are dominant and they would just make blue diamonds
Great video. I have Blue Dream shrimp (I think), I wanted to add more Blue Dream, but if the new ones end up Blue Diamond, do you know the two breed and colour of babies? Thanks.
So far I've kept the two lines together and just got a mix of the two and no wilds yet

If you have dark blue shrimp you don't have blue velvets. Velvets should all be sky blue not dark at all

Awesome video you two.
Thank you!
How about mixing blue dreams & blue diamonds?
You won't get wilds buy you'll get more culls
@@thegardenofeder I got my blue dreams & they're gorgeous.
Great vid. :-) What substrate do you use in the tanks in this vid?
The samurai soil from caribsea
@@thegardenofeder Thanks.

Where do the blue jelly’s come from?
Possibly red rillis but most likely selective bred from wilds

Sick video 🤙

What happens when you breed blue shrimp and green shrimp?
99% chance you will get wilds
Which one tastes better?
Dreams for sure the diamonds are a little hard
@@thegardenofeder😂
Are Blue Neo Shrimp the same as blue jelly…!?!
Blue neo shrimp can be several types of blue neos. Blue dream, diamonds, jelly, and velvets are all considered blue neos
Did you use the same shrimp in the intro and just flip it ;)
Ya I thought it was a good idea because they can both look exactly the same but will probably change it

If someone said blue crystals and didn't mean a caridina I'd be mad. I've never seen blue crystals but crystals are not neos.
