    That bass clarinet in particular made me forget that I'm listening to a sample library and not a real player. Brilliant work!

    Wow, that flute sounds nice. . . Very Dynamic
    Legato Clarinet sounds sick,
    But that Oboe takes the cake. Oh man, I can only imagine the possibilities using that one.

      Funny how different people have completely different tastes. I didn't like the sound of the oboe very much to be honest, but to each their own!

    I have watched all the BBC SO vids, but what I really want to know is: How does the control of vibrato and dynamics actually work? I would love to see a careful demonstration of just that. Not just "oh, and you can control vibrato and dynamics" - while throwing two faders up and down. What I want to know is: Is there crossfading going on between vibrato and non-vibrato? And if so, how can it be seamless? I'd love you to go through just one sound, demonstrating how dynamics and vibrato works and sounds. Like, in a sit-down-and-listen-carefully kind of way.

    • @virgo47
      @virgo47 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I expected continuous vibrato option (to a degree), but it's not. It's quite an audible step at 50% of the fader, so it's hardly usable for solo section going from non-vibrato to vibrato. Dynamics, on the other hand (by default controllable by modwheel) is more or less seamless. Some areas are "steeper" so to say, but there are nice crossfades from one dynamic layer to another. No problem with the dynamics really, very well done.

    When will the manual be available?

  • @virgo47
    @virgo47 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was a bit disappointed by legato flute which sounds like with some phaser - like not a single flute, really. Long and other articulations are clear, but legato is like with some strange short delay or what. Why can't it sound as well defined as the long articulation? Even when played slow it's not like a single flute really. I own Core version, not sure whether Pro is different in this regard.

  • @eylam9690
    @eylam9690 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Basically, I want my entire life to be dynamically controllable. I won't settle for anything less! P.S. Spitfire must be fed up with my highly questionable sense of humour, at this point... On a more serious note, this is a serious library, especially for that price range. I am here because I am considering upgrading to pro, because I want a more intimate sound so that I can use the solo woodwinds in non-orchestral music. It's either going to be this or Orchestral Tool's new solo woodwinds. For me, the winning factor with this one is the legato extended/performance legato which I would not change for anything in the world. When it comes to playing melody lines it is indispensable in my opinion. Although I was somewhat disappointed with the performance legato of some brass instruments, which I did not find quite as nimble as it is for the flute, strings etc. I don't think OT has the same feature, unfortunately. Any advice on that matter is highly appreciated.

    I'm gonna try this again. As someone who already owns most of the Spitfire SO (everything except brass), is there a point in buying the BBC SO? Does the Spitfire SO still have a purpose, or should people just go for a cheaper, single purchase, of the BBC SO?

    • @forster123
      @forster123 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I only have the Symphonic Strings but, as far as I can tell, the SO line seems to have a lot more articulations than BBC SO. On the other hand, BBC has more mics so you can tweak the sound more, I suppose. Maybe the point of buying the BBC SO is if you like the sound better or you like the interface and the convenience of the dedicated player. Other than that, if you've already invested in the symphonic line, I would stick to that one.

    • @awpqq
      @awpqq 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@forster123 that's a tough call - I have the Symphonic Orchestra but this sounds different - different space and years later in recording tech. I'm very tempted - certainly at the intro price.

    Hi Paul, great job !! I downloaded today your new BBC Symphonic Orchestra and now I'm testing it. It's wonderful but how about Marcato articulation on Flute for example ? In this video you show that the length of the marcato depends on how long you hold the keys down but here it always plays till the end of the sample. In this way it's impossible to play any melodic line in Marcato mode because every note overlap the others. How can I solve this ? Thankyou very very much.

  • @jaketanner109

    Why play chords for short staccato with the a3 flute patch? That's not something that's normally done right, or am I wrong? it's like 9 flute players then. BUT..the winds do sound fantastic!!! Great job!

    Hmm, don't really like the clarinet, maybe it's the vibrato in the demo. Oboe legato seemed to be a tiny bit jumpy? But the tone is great. Flute sounded lovely too! Contrabass Clarinet sounds great from what we got! Bass clarinet is a little nasally for me. Contrabassoon sounds cool too!
