      The anatomy of a lie.
The thing you say that is happening is:
      1. Not happening
      2. Is happening
      3. Is happening and it's good that its happening
You can apply this to every liar who gets caught in any lie.

My mom used to always say, "don't do the right thing when it's hard because you think everyone will understand and appreciate you. They usually won't. Do it because it's important to you." There are always lies, gossip and mischaracterizations that will inevitably come your way when you reveal difficult truths people don't want to hear. As someone who went to a lot of live shows back in the 90s I can tell you that I don't care how good a singer or band is, they never ever sound the same as their recordings do. And they never EVER sound the same live twice! Like you say, it's literally impossible! Everything effects your singing voice: tiredness, sickness, excitedness, your mood that day, what you ate, how hydrated you are, even crowd reaction will change things in the way the singer sounds.
And dude, anyone who watches you can tell that you are such a sweet genuine person and not ever trying to hurt anyone. You have the kindest smile and voice and I know you're just trying to be honest in this situation and talk about something you're passionate about. Don't take strangers on the internet to heart bro. Nearly all of the commenters you referenced, in addition to being wrong on the facts, are also resorting to fallacious arguments. "Who are you to criticize?" Ad hominem attack/Courtier's reply. "I'm a famous singer and producer and I know!" Argument from authority. "Kent would never lipsync, he doesn't do that!" Circular reasoning/proof by assertion/moralistic reasoning. "Why do you attack Kent -- you're being mean!" Appeal to emotion/appeal to motivation. "Everyone knows Kent doesn't lipsync." Appeal to tradition/circular reasoning. "I am unsubscribing because of this!" Poisoning the well. So these negative comments were both unfactual and illogical. Keep going Fil! Your analysis is much appreciated!

I have 45 years in live audio, 2/3 of that working with "artists you've heard of". I'm still working and I signed NDAs so I won't mention names, but these self-annointed golden ears comments Fil featured in this video have no f'in clue about how many of their favorite artists, bands, and performers make use of playback in performances. One band, a quartet, had 96 inputs - half from live sources on the stage and the other 48 were from ProTools or Ableton. The band got the live inputs to their IEMs and the audience heard 98% tracks.
Many rappers are lip-syncing, too. The mics are hot so the hype and shoutouts are real, but most of the actual "song" is either the studio vocal or an edit of the studio vocal with some live components; soloing up the live mics in headphones, I can hear the performers moving, breathing, and maybe rapping along at a *very* low level until a shout out comes along.
A popular male country singer has a bad alcohol habit and can't utter a coherent sentence by the time he's on stage but his "sung" vocals are flawless; is it magic or an illusion? Another singer who has been on one of the contest TV shows lip syncs the last half (more or less) of his live show for the same reason - he's getting intoxicated on stage and develops both pitch and timing problems.
There are vocal tuning plug ins for digital mixing consoles that will work fast enough to be used live, and one of the most popular English-speaking performers has it applied to all non-spoken parts of the vocal performance, along with a dynamics and EQ processing chain that would have been low/mid-five figure$ back when everything was separate analog boxes.
Ultimately I work for the artist or someone they have hired for technical and artistic supervision. With some I get lots of artistic direction and discretion, with others there is lots of direction and little room to make changes of any sort (kind of like in theatre) after the tour starts. Some performers seem comforted by the technologies, some need the technologies to make them acceptable, live, others eschew most of it. My personal choice to start out organically and hear what the band or artist is actually doing, maybe apply a little reverb to put some air around it, and hear where their performance of that song, that day, takes us. I like the old ways of letting the art and magic happen on stage, and that my primary job is to share those things to everyone who showed up, artist-willing.

You're ruffling a lot of feathers, and im here for it. I've been playing for 35+ years, and this practice of "singing" to pre-recorded tracks so they can pretend they can still hit "that" note, is one that needs to end, especially with the "heritage" acts who's fans wouldnt even be upset by a few lowered notes from a guy in his 50s-70s. I can't say why Ken Tamplin chooses to use recorded vocals for live performances, but I don't think it's because he can't hit the notes. Too many times in the middle of talking about a particular line of a song in one of his videos, Ken has sung the line raw and belted a G5 or A5 no sweat. So it beats me why he would choose to use recorded vocals. Stamina? He does like to move around on stage and you and I both know that can affect your vocal performance. You were just running around while playing the guitar solo and now you have to glissando up to an A5? I'm just guessing.

There is one thing you said here that caught my attention. I actually do assume that some type of mimng/lipsynching/playback or other "trickery" is going on at just about any live show these days especially the big tours. What's more is that even though technology has changed I don't remember this being any different in the 80's or 90's. It's definitely more prevalent in certain genres, but my perception is that it's way more widespread than most people think, and is almost a bit of an industry "dirty little secret". This isn't a judgement on my part, I've used sequences and pre recorded backing vocals plenty myself. I'm just wondering... how many "regular folks" would even realize this was thing without someone like you being able to say: actually... this is what it is. Love your stuff, man!

Fil, keep on producing your quality content.
You have to allow for people being willfully ignorant or just plain thick.
It is literally impossible to reproduce the same waveform without either using a sample of that waveform or just copy and pasting it.
If a live audio waveform is the same as the recorded waveform, the artist is miming.
    Period.
