Let them PILE UP! 2024 Toyota Tacomas continue to go UNSOLD!

  • We’re seeing Toyota dealers slash prices on the new 2024 Toyota Tacoma. Now $5K Off MSRP is becoming commonplace across the US. Don’t pay sticker for these things! Dealers WILL cut the prices if it means moving the inventory. The longer a vehicle sits on a dealer’s lot, the more it’ll cost them. They want to sell off their inventory as it helps them save on flooring costs and improves their allocation rates.
Whats the best deal you’ve seen so far on a new 2024 Toyota Tacoma? How long until we see dealers drop prices of TRD Pro and Trailhunter trims? Of course many dealers will charge ugly markups right out of the gate (cough cough California)… but those willl be short lived.
What’s it going to take for Toyota to improve their tarnished reputation? First the Tundra, now the Tacoma. Just hope the 2025 4Runner isn’t next.
    -Stay Untamed…

Gone forever. Frontier is the last "Frontier " for non-turbo V6. Titan has only V8 available in it, but consumers prefer big 3 crap and junk Toyota twin turbo, so they stupidly force Titan out of production. They shot themselves in the foot for brand loyalty.

@c7406-q8c So Samurai tradition and spirit is extended to building in Mexico at 2 bucks an hour, with 2 bucks an hour worth of Mexican quality assurance? Over corporation over tradition and quantity over quality, worst at a premium price! and dealers over marking price on their legendary vehicles on top of ridiculous MSRP for components to make it like a V8! WIth 20% of the reliability V6, Twin Turbo, hybrid battery, and the components and equipment to make it all function, once again like a V8, because they have said it wasn't for environmental reasons like popularly believed, but for power and torque!

Watch the video. He did do it. First off the truck went close to redline. 80km on third gear would only be around 3000 rpm. But the reason he was able to get into 1st gear was the auto rev match. Yes. When you rev match, 1st gear will open up. If you didnt rev match then 1st gear will stay lock and you can't get into it. Also the transmission wasnt built strong because it couldn't handle the instant torque.

    • @barrydworak
      @barrydworak 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      But what if he did?
The automatic features (which I don't want) should account for that.
First off, sometimes I put my Tacoma 6 speed into 1st from 5th. If I have to slow down for a red light, I might slide it into 1st before I'm completely stopped. I generally don't, but this isn't something that could never happen, especially if I might want to make a right on red but there's no traffic.
But say I screw up and go from 5th to 1st, and I start to let the clutch out. I'll notice right away, press down on the clutch right away, and correct the shift. It is very hard to go 5th to 1st by accident, but it is not impossible. Rev-matching should be smart enough to sense that and not cause damage.
That's one reason I don't want Rev matching. As someone who has driven mostly manuals for close to 40 years, on everything from Porsche to Jeep, I drive by feel. Take this feel away and yes I have an advantage on the track especially in turns, but for casual daily driving I am not focused at that level, so I benefit from feeling what the car is doing.

    • @sentree9857

Also, 90% of toyota techs will “diagnose” the cause of the damage to be operator error if they can get away with it….thus voiding the warranty because they don’t want to get nailed by warranty time. I hate that this happens but it’s a reality.

Idk, I want to like this truck (I think it looks great, just a little too overdone with the aggression) but Toyota is out of their mind having these built in Mexico to save production costs and then selling them overpriced everywhere. It's kind of like they relied on their brand identity and hoped these would sell out.
People aren't that stupid, this doesn't just apply to Tacomas, dealerships everywhere have an abundance of trucks on their lot. In fact, more people are keeping their truck of over 10+ years because obviously it's financially more responsible to keep and maintain a vehicle that is paid off rather than likely having the bank pay for your new one, especially after what Covid has done to our economy.
And then there's the recent fiascos with the Tacoma's driveline issues + the Tundra's engine suffering from "machining debris". Toyota has a lot of work to do... then again it hasn't even been a year since these came out. For all I know things could get better. 🤷‍♀

It should be engineered to handle a variety of extreme circumstances. Let them pile up!

As long as the price reflected, and they were on the way to working out the kinks. However, with the economy in the United States people aren’t buying vehicles brand new in general right now because they just don’t have the money and I don’t see it getting any better anytime soon. So I don’t know what’s going to happen but it’s going to take several years to work out the kinks in these new Toyota pick up trucks, but I don’t really see any former Toyota fans buying any of these.
