Thanks so much VK for this one. I heard this a while back and although quite a sad song I always loved it and could relate to it in a way. This song also showcases the raw and unbelievable talent that John had, even when he was a baby and his voice and presentation was epic even back then and the pure emotion he puts into it is so heart wrenching , just amazing. I’m not sure if I put it on my list but a song called “ love chooses you” is a great old one from John and has a real blues feel to it but don’t think there’s a live version of that I’ve seen. Honestly there’s so much music John has done you could go on for ever, even stuff I haven’t heard but needs to be heard. Just a classic bit of music from a vocal magician and genius when it comes to getting his message across to the masses. Simply amazing.

John has had thousands of songs offered to him... he always reads the lyrics and makes a considered choice whether to sing it or not.
He would never sing a song he didn't believe in.
I think I was 12 when John was first "discovered ". Basically grew up with his presence here in Melbourne . My girlfriends and I thought he was 'gorgeous ' ☺️🥰

John was doing things with his voice way back then that people only just started doing in the late 90's...all those vocal runs. And love that this song starts so low butbthen soars so high. His low tones are so soothing❤

It is a shame that he had such a hard few years prior to releasing You're the Voice. I’m glad he kept going, and never gave up.

This was such a beautiful song, yet sad
when you listened to the lyrics. For 1975 would have been the time John then age 26 (or Johnny up to 1979) was transitioning from his King of Pop days. At this point I think he was experiencing struggles career wise, which saw him suffer financial hardship and even depression. It breaks my heart knowing John went through all that. But he came out the other end with a great deal of resilience. For he went on to forge a career, one with the success he so richly deserved.
It was evident fom a young age the natural charisma John exuded. For he always had
a twinkle in those blue eyes, not to mention he was a hansome young man. 🥰 And that voice was sublime, so much emotion in it. One thing I have noticed when John sings, even back then, was how open his mouth is and the shape he is forming. For he always has very good enunciation and can project
his voice with such control. What can you say John is the full package, a beautiful gift that keeps on giving!!!

@@heidi09 and to think when John first started out he was an apprentice plumber and took the gamble of pursuing a singing career, and as far as I know, especially back then John had no real singing lessons or training, he was a natural. Thinking now about what we would have missed out on for the last over 50 years of such beautiful music if he had chosen to continue as a plumber. Even if John never sings another note(which would be such a shame), his music will always be around for us to listen to and marvel at the wonderful gift we have been given in his angelic voice, his loving and caring personality and performance style, and the passion and emotion he exudes every time he opened his mouth. And at least with today’s technology we can enjoy the visual experience of John’s long career, and see the happiness he brought to so many people with his live performances as well as listen to him pour his heart out with his majestic voice and he will truly live on forever within his incredible music. There’s enough plumbers out there but there is only one John Farnham.
