Solicitors recommending the SPM's plead guilty when no money trail for the supposed stolen funds could be found or proven is quite horrifying.

The Post Office Board and their toady friends are completely guilty and should go to prison. They are worse than any armed robber who has held up a Sub Post Office. None of the board or senior staff should a pension and all their salaries should paid back.
Here's a thought. Tim Parker should have his head shaved in public and removed from any positions where public funds are at risk. Perkins, Vennells, Reid and others should be prohibited from working in the public sector ever again. And the General counsel hiding in Australia should be extradited back to the UK and jailed for a year for contempt.
That was a powerful and heart rendering speech that lawyer made there. He captured the entire matter succinctly and all you could do was feel utterly disappointed that such an atrocious event could ever have happened in a country such as the UK. A country that at one time stood alone against HitIer's entire regime in the fight for freedom. Such cases as this have the power to utterly destroy a people's belief in their own country. This is why they are these cases are so dangerous and should be punished severely, condemned utterly and compensation given generously. If that is not done then sit back and watch that nation fall. "A nation does not fall when there are barbarians on its borders. A nation does not fall when foreign armies are invading its lands A nation does not fall when its enemies are at the gates of its cities. No; a nation falls when its own people stop believing in it" Marcus Aurelius said that 1800 years ago; UK Govt should take heed of the warning.

Well done sir👏
A beautifully crafted closing statement,
Well said sir
Incredible summing up. Incredible.
People died.......And Vennells walked away with millions.
She should be made to give every penny she stole back and do time like the innocent PM's
@@TheSapphire51 Yes, but the precedent that would set doesn't sit well with Government and Civil servants .
@@ZIGSVIDS But it is the right thing to do. Do governments and civil servants realise the contempt the rest of the population has for their contempt of us. The social contract is well and truly broken and the P.O. is the tip of the iceberg.
Eloquent, true, poetical
Brilliant- I hope that this is remembered by all society.
I hope the @BBC @ITV and other media organisations pick up on these closing statements and get this back in the limelight. Looking at our new government, I feel sure they will not be fighting for the SPMs ……
Outstanding at the very highest level
Hopefully the police are moving towards bringing Vennells in for questioning
Not a chance, she's one of them, part of the establishment, they will find away to protect her from justice
Will not happen
@@normalatham233if it takes as long nearly 3 years as the SNP enquiry then probably!
@@normalatham233 No - it can't. As it will set a precedent for future villains of the peace.
An excellent summary of everything victims and outside observers of this shameful debacle think and feel. Prosecutions must follow, end of.
Everything wrong with big corporates with too much power over ordinary people.
Bravo sir, Bravo.
Just brilliant
That was truly magnificent!
Outstanding summing up. Well done sir.
Powerful speech
Brilliant speech, you did them proud x
Please let there be prosecutions
And yet the culprits are not behind bars.nor compensation been paid, the government is a bloody disgrace.
You are thinking the same as me.
Despite a stirring summing up none of those criminals will go to jail. The only way justice will be served if folks scarred by this seek retribution by other means and good luck to them
A complete masterclass
Impressive summing up and truly eloquent. Thank you Sir.
What a great lawyer
Wonderful !
Brilliant précis/summing up of exactly what the disgraceful corporates and everyone involved deliberately did to their sub Postmasters. Bravo 🙌
If no one goes to prison for this, it WILL happen again.
That statement should be be required listening in all secondary schools history lessons.
@@allanwinter4991 And English Language if still taught as a separate subject.
Brilliant.
Bravo sir
Brilliant summation.
While people are waiting for Sir Wyn's Report check out volumes 1 and 2 of the Grenfell Tower Fire Inquiry Report. A masterclass in how a report should be written, names names, and pulls no punches. And these 2 volumes are only dealing with the lead up to the fire.
who has all the unaccounted for money taken forcefully from them?
@@Transcriptor As Mr Stein KC stated, the money SPMs put in to cover shortfalls is virtually untraceable because very few SPMs would have keep sufficiently detailed records acceptable as evidence.
A nation does not fall when foreign armies are invading its lands
A nation does not fall when its enemies are at the gates of its cities.
No; a nation falls when its own people stop believing in it"
Marcus Aurelius said that 1800 years ago; UK Govt should take heed of the warning.
Thank you for your protest
Just a brilliant summation perfectly delivered with passion👍
Mr Beer, Mr Henry and Mr Stein must be knighted for their contributions to this enquiry
I hope this man also receives a knighthood after this, I'm sure Sir Alan Bates would support this recommendation.
Hugely impressive : eloquent and devastating ...
