DS is the best handheld Mario Party. To some, that’s not saying much...
The way Dungeon Duos splits the team effort and makes people do things separately really helps boosts the waiting player’s ability to cheer on their partner and that makes it awesome.

On MPIQ you also forget just how obnoxious some people get by hitting the block the first second they can to answer even if they don't know the question, inevitably stalling the game to the point of making it a draw. I know you have the editors note, but that's more for why the questions never finish, not why the questions were even halfway said.
I hate when people do that. I know you want to end the game ASAP, trust me, but that is NOT how you end it ASAP. That is how you get so many questions the game itself says "fuck it" & end the minigame.
Mario Party DS was my childhood...thank you for bashing Soil Toil for me. That mini game was hell for me besides Trace Cadets.
the most i remember from mario party DS is constantly replaying the bosses and listening to the soundtrack while playing adventure quest worlds. i always chose the same characters for each boss as well
Once I figured out the scale of top screen to bottom screen, Trace Cadets became one of my favorite non-boss minigames in DS. Although I can see why people would like that one. My least favorite would probably be Short Fuse. Neat concept with getting the fuse as close as possible to blow up the next guy, but the amount of mic use in such a quick burst leaves me too light headed afterwards.

Trace Cadets was easy for me. Probably because I’m a drawer by nature.
Honestly, I like Mario Party DS, and not seeing it on any of the top 5 best kinda saddens me. However I 100% agree with your decision on Soil Toil being 2nd worst, that game can go die in a hole, even with friends.

I mean.... There were only 5 slots for best games. It would be pretty hard to fit in. What would you propose fill a slot, though? I'd like to know. Its mminigame selection isn't all-bad.
No Bgs Soil Toil was my least favorite non-chance minigame next to Raft Riot and Trace Cadets.

I actually really liked Rudder Madness, because I loved going back and forth, and causing my character to repeatedly make sounds, which I found really funny.
Toadstool Titan was renamed to "Mush Pit" in Mario Party: The Top 100. I wish it never changed.

The way that intro started and the way this lid was laid out made it feel almost like a Fawfuls Minion countdown.

Major respect points for Dungeon Duos as number one. You just made my day. Back when I played Mario Party 4 with my brother and cousins, this was my favorite thing. I loved all the ways you could expedite things by working together, like pumping the turnstile on both sides to get the second person across faster.
I played with Expert CPUs all the time in Mario Party DS, and I had my sibling play with me from time to time on the game.
From what I’ve learned, you have to *really* know how to play Soil Toil in order to efficiently play it. Once you do, it isn’t bad as long as you can communicate with your teammate or learn the CPU’s efforts on the driving. It is still annoying, though, especially if you end up going backwards.
Hard to believe it's been nearly ten years since I 1st found your channel via the Aurtarc (think I spelled that wrong). One of the 1st channels I ever subbed to, actually. Glad to see you still putting out top quality stuff even all these years later. Keep up the good work, Hoss.

I bet I'm the only person who likes Bash'n'cash. I know it's unfair, but I just find it extremely funny seeing the player who got Bowser stress out over their money. As sadistic as that may be. On a side note, most of the 1v3 mini games from the first Mario party favor the 1 player heavily (with coin shower flower coming to mind immediately). That doesn't really excuse the cruel unfairness of Bash'n'cash, but I guess it doesn't bother me that much because the 3 players normally get put at such a disadvantage during the 1v3 mini games.
ATTENTION: Everything stated in this comment is not applicable if thedippyspoon gets put in the Bowser outfit for the mini game "Bash'n'cash"

I totally agree with you on that Running of the Bulb fanfare. It's so satisfying hearing that! It also plays in games like Face Lift or Crazy Cutter when everyone happens to win the minigame.

My favorite Mario Party is 7. Also my most nostalgic game of all time. I remember going to my cousin's house every day just so we could play GameCube, and we played the crap out of that one. I still play it today for parties, hanging out with friends, or nostalgia.
Rudder Madness... First minigame I ever played on Mario Party 8... & yeah, that sums it up.

Here's something interesting about Running of the Bulb: there can only be a maximum of 4 Boos at a time, whether they be chasing or possessing. If the player holding the bulb is the only one left, they can effectively run circles around said Boos and make it to the end that way. I should know, because I have been said player once.
Now if only I could have known in advance to record that...

My fav is a button masher from MP7 (since that's the game I've played the most). It's the Pokey Pummel and I am pretty much undefeated in it lol.
I love soil toil because I once played it with my friend and he went backwards because of the computer and it was just so funny seeing him on my screen coming backwards

Mario Party DS was my childhood game, so I remember it vividly. I recall times when me and a group of friends would pull out our DS and DSI’s, and play the game, though we normally just battled the piranha plant.
When I hear "Rudder Madness", I think of keelhauling someone.
Never actually played a Mario Party, that's just the image it projects into my mind.
So, in regards to that Spike trilogy, I recommend Secret of My Excess and To Change A Changeling for the next Spike episodes.
The final insult, if Bowser is the one that started up Bash n' Cash, he will steal coins from you even if you managed to keep all your coins at the end of the minigame.
For some reason, I immediately think of a Donkey race when I hear Rudder Madness.
Something I don't get is "Heat Stroke" and "the beat goes on" actually made it into top 100

The minigame Heat Stroke has the 3 players have a ground pound control which in turn is a blessing in disguise as sorts because the ground pound actually gives a bit of a air time to survive but I think nobody can see upside of that.

Let's hope the Mario Party Top 100 makes it to where any mini-games included in it that were in both Mario Party 1 and 2 pulls a Mario Party 2 and treats each version as a variation, like it did for games like Slot Car Derby, Bowl Over, or Move to the Music. That way we get more content but still can add other mini-games from the first two games.

In regards to the comment about Mario Party 2 reusing a lot of minigames, keep in mind it was initially an expansion pack for MP1, so that's the main reason why there are so many re-used minigames.

Honorable Mention (Good) - ALL of Mario Party (GBA) once you piss off all of your friends you normally cant play Mario Party right? well on the GBA exclusive you have a Single Player campaign with it's own unique Narrative, and once your friends are done being pissed at you, you can invite them to play with your earned Mini--Games and Toys.
The Gaming Paladin I remember 100%ing that game, and then a few years ago, restarting to do it again. I will say, all of the mini games (minus 2 duels and that damn rabbit factory) were great! Yeah, it's weird that you need Link cables for actual multiplayer, but I like the fact that you get a physical game board.
