    I usually go with a higher aperture, that way it's easier to get the car in focus and due to the blurry 'moving' background the car will be separated visually anyways.. but if you manage to get the focus with f2.8 and you wanna go for that look, that's obviously really nice too! Great video as always bro!

      I agree. there's no reason to shoot at 2.8-4

    Great tips! I learned i need to drop my shutter speed even lower. I figured 1/80th was good 😬

    • @TheCarCreative
      @TheCarCreative  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s definitely safe but I’ve seen guys go as low as 1/10. I think you “hit less” but when you get one it’s insane! Start with your safety shots and then go lower if you know you’ve got one.

    What do you think is the best setting for a Canon EOS M6? I tried these settings and I didn't really get the same results.

    • @TheCarCreative
      @TheCarCreative  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You may have your shutter set waaaay to low. It might be taking a 30 second single shot rather than a 1/30 shot.

    Would a 50mm be a bit too narrow to shoot with?

    • @TheCarCreative
      @TheCarCreative  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The car would just have to be a bit further away to get it in the full frame but still doable if it’s all you’ve got.

    • @oneonlyxram
      @oneonlyxram ปีที่แล้ว

      @The Car Creative yea it is the only one that's f1.8. My other lens starts at f4 at 24mm (24-105mm).

    • @TheCarCreative
      @TheCarCreative  ปีที่แล้ว

      That would still be a great lens. The more you “close your aperture” (4-10) the better shot you’ll have at a sharp image on the car and you may need to do this for correct exposure anyway unless you use an ND. A lot of people actually suggest a higher aperture, but my style I tend to prefer more blur with the lower aperture settings.

    • @oneonlyxram
      @oneonlyxram ปีที่แล้ว

      @The Car Creative ah ok, I have a good nd/cpl filter combo. Thanks for the tips man!

    • @drivingpsyche
      @drivingpsyche ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@oneonlyxram You can get more blur with longer exposure or faster car speeds. I would rather have f4 or more for more DOF, so whole car is sharp, and let the image stabilisation do the work for longer exposures.

  • @Half_Torqued

    no camera strap!

  • @lipardfilm
    @lipardfilm ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Traditionally these kind of photos are made with a rig on the subject car containing suction cups and a long boom arm. The car is then captured still, and then with a long exposure shot when the car moves not mutch than 2-4 meters really slowly. Then you can composit and retuch the final image.

    • @brabecjakub
      @brabecjakub ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You can do car2car almost anytime and anywhere. Using a long arm rig is a really slow technique + usually for closeup shots using wide lens. I don't think it is tradition...

    “Walkie talkie” how bout a phone call?

    • @TheCarCreative
      @TheCarCreative  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In this area there wasn’t any service. Walkie talkies definitely help, and you tend to use them sporadically so kind of annoying to call all the time. But you do you. This has worked for me as I’ve done it several times. 👍🏼

    As soon as he said something about it, I saw the dangerous thing he was doing. He should have been using a wrist strap or something to keep from dropping that camera! Very irresponsible if you ask me. 😝lol
