Awesome video, man! I'm not an automotive photographer by any means but I can definitely say that tips #1 and #5 are hugely beneficial to ANY kind of photographer, or entrepreneur in general. It's a long road and if you don't have the passion to get you through the difficult times you'll probably burn out real quick.
Don‘t be a jerk is the best tip ever! I had contact with a popular landscape photographer in my country and out of nothing he was a jerk to me. Of course he is doing workshops etc. I am not talking shit about people, but if someone asks me I would never ever recommend him. Or book a workshop from him. He has damaged his business without realizing it 🤷🏼♀️
Amazing! We have a particular challenge here in Canada that they don’t have in some of the more southern places… it’s called winter! Haha. Slows us down a little but we power through. 👊🏼 Thanks for watching!

I did see that I already do a lot of what you suggest (have been doing this as a hobby for quite a while now) which made me feel good. Your IG tip about how the car lands on my IG page I definitely need to fix and work on going forward. Until I saw you point that out in this and your other video about IG I didn't notice or think about that. Would love other critiques on my work if you do another video like that in the future.

Is there a vedio where you talk about starting off gear? I've been looking at cameras and so many options. What would be a good recommendation or requirements for automotive photography?
Amazing tips as always. So it's not bad to draw inspiration from others in professional work? Or try and recreate or "mimic" what others did in the early stages?
Also for car shows, I find getting there early when the cars are just arriving for the staging area will give you more space to get different angles. If you get there after they are parked, the cars are usually too close together to get the best angles. If it's a major car show the cars may get there the day before. Being nice to security and staff helps a lot to get early access. Wear a photo ID pass around your neck and wear a yellow or orange safety vest, it looks like you know what you are doing.
Something else that can work is getting to know the top salespeople in different dealerships and offer customer photo shoots when they sell a car. The top salespeople can afford to pay you directly to go to the customer's home, office, parks etc. The customer will be so excited to have their car and themselves photographed they will tell everyone about their salesperson and the salesperson will get referrals from that customer so it's a win-win for everyone.
You are correct, don't be a jerk. To make money whether a little or a lot is not about the gear but about being likable. A lot of successful photographers may not be the best technical photographers in their area or have the latest gear but they are very likable and many of them will make more money than the "best technical photographers".
I wish I could do photography as a job but it seems impossible realistically atm... Of course I won't stop because it's my passion but idk how to start a real career and it's depressing... (btw the music is a bit loud but nice video)

Great video. I would suggest car shows. An easy place to meet people and take photos of their cars. Usually they end up saying yes. Build off there.
