I knit a little, and would like to be able to crochet, but something about it breaks my brain. I got a hook and tried following some tutorials, but couldn't successfully make a basic chain. I just can't seem to figure out how to hold on to everything simultaneously; I'm always dropping the yarn or the hook or having the yarn go flying off the hook, etc. I'm sure it's one of those things where it's easy once it "clicks," but I've not gotten it to click.
In a year before you get your stuff out of storage you should do an update video where you show all the additional things you’ve had to purchase and what you haven’t used. 😆
I’m married already, but I LOVE wedding art hacks! Most of them you can also apply to birthday parties, baptism, etc. Would love to see you do some art hacks for your wedding
FYI: Dollar Tree has that "poster paper" for 2 for a $1! I use those to paint a potential wall color so I can move a large swatch of the color around the room to see what it will look like in different areas of the room
That is such a great idea! Thank you, I’m just about to paint my bed room after not being happy with the colour of the last room I painted (so much darker than I was expecting) and I’ve been hella nervous to start.
having moved country 3 times, i know the nightmare of setting up an art studio from scratch pretty well. Its always going to suck, but in someways its nice to have the clean slate to hone in on the supplies you really love and need
My niece had the heart guest frame at her wedding. It turned out really cute. I used rub and buff silver on the frame. Not a big wedding so there were blank hearts left. We wrote different inspirational words on those. ❤
7:40 There's a reason for this! In craft stores, they wanna give customers enough time to feasibly complete their creative projects before that season actually rolls around, so they pull out the stock for later seasons a whole season early. For little things like decorative pumpkins, you might not need much time at all, but if you're making an extravagant costume or a large display, it's gonna take the average 40-hour-week worker a good long while to finish. @@sarahschreffler5407 A lot of people are reaaaally into halloween and go absolutely feral for stuff coming out early. they probably keep putting it out earlier and earlier because they sell out of a lot of things really early and they are trying to beat last years sells/demands.
The teal paint bottle from golden is from their “liquid” line, it’s about the consistency of whole milk, not toothpaste like their heavy body (the tubes). Golden’s different lines are made so they can be used in the same piece, but they do have different use cases they each shine in.
I can understand being frustrated about Putting Halloween stuff in a supermarket/walmart in July or putting Christmas stuff up in September, but its actually really smart in a crafts supply shop. It means you have tonnes of time to make gifts and stuff with in theme items. Also if you run a small hobby business, you need to get things ready way in advance of the celebration. My sister in law does pottery and she starts making pottery pumpkins for Halloween in April. Also you really need to try out Golden Fluid Acrylics. They are the Italian kiss.
After having done a course in soft pastels....they can be a lot of fun to paint with on their own :) Just gotta get sanded pastel paper to work with! Its a very textured medium.
😉 We heard you slip in how your doc told you to take prenatal vitamins. Well, whatever may or may not be going on in your life right now, I hope you're happy, well, and taking care of yourself. Congratulations and good luck with the engagement, wedding plans, looking for a new place, your new art supplies, and...anything else. 😅
I use Mastersons Sta-Wet palettes for my acrylic painting process. So I was very concerned to see that your palette didn’t come with the magic sponge that keeps the moisture within your palette. But after researching I realized that the one you got in particular doesn’t include one as it’s mostly used for oils. I hope it really works for you and you don’t get discouraged to use them if this one doesn’t do the job 😬
ooo thats interesting, I wonder why?? Perhaps this is a new design that doesnt need it? Does yours take a while to get the lid off because it was almost suctioned on there so I wonder if they have a different seal that doesn't require the sponge now?? Thanks for letting me know!
@@ChloeRoseArt I buy sham wows from the dollar store for mine and they work exactly the same and cost less :) I also found from an art teacher that if you mist the top, and put it in the fridge, you get even better results.
@@ChloeRoseArt The one you got with the blue lid is the same one I have, it's a "palette seal". The reason it doesn't come with a sponge is because it is meant for a wooden or glass palette, but you can use it with the sponges too if you want. It's dang near airtight so that's why it's hard to get the lid off. I use a 12"x16" glass palette in it, and when I used open acrylics it would keep my paints wet pretty much forever just by keeping a wet paper towel balled up in a corner. I've since switched to oils and it keeps them from skinning over, and keeps the cat hair out.
What if our favorite YT artists did an art product supply mystery sampler collab box !?! All packed in one of the Jazza mini bags ! What an awesome mix to imagine ! After nightmare box last week, thought what would be in a dream box ? Thought of you & all the collaborations you have done with other artists, then you mentioned the art bag. Perfect carrier for everyone's products. That would be fun. Congratulations on your happily ever after too !
This video reminds me of that time in art school when I got onto the metro to go to class with my toolbox full of art supplies, set it down next to me for a minute to grab something from my backpack, and then it was just gone when I went to pick it up. Big sad/angry feelings. I had some stuff in my backpack, obviously, but I did have to do a lot of rebuying over the next while, including my watercolours, and a lot of my brushes and mediums. I had to be very careful in the choices I made when replacing what I'd lost. I needed to immediately be able to make things, but also take care that my new supplies didn't break the bank. It was an interesting challenge.
I've moved waaaay too many times!! 🤦♀️ A huge tip I would give you is to get the huge sharpie. It has about a 1 inch chisel tip!! It is dark black and stinks to high heaven, but worth it!! 🤗 Use that to label each and every box. Make each letter at least two inches high to label room on each box!! On ALL sides of the box! Underneath that in smaller letters, label the contents. You are more likely to get things in the right room! Assume you will not be the one placing things, people will be in a hurry, and if using movers, they may or may not be the best readers. It is important to keep room labels short and easy. Fun to go with you shopping!! 💕 I hope you find your two boxes of supplies!! 👍
We lost everything including my beloved cat 😭 in a fire a year ago & we are still in temporary accommodation (will be for the next year too). I spent the first nine months pretty much curled up in a ball doing nothing, I was so scared of getting anything dirty in this rented space. I've now started to get a few bit together & started to join in with the monthly swaps on my craft FB groups. It's actually taught me to think outside the box and I've had to be inventive! I started with a job-lot of inks & stamps being sold on Ebay but the best investment for me is a really good paper trimmer. Congratulations on your engagement 🙂
I really hope you are able to get all the supplies you need. I hope you know you don't need to come out with *new* and *fresh* ideas when your income is dependent on things you have to buy from scratch. I'd love to hear the story of how you got engaged or a home renovation/moving in video or whatever! We are not just fans of your art - we're fans of you and so excited for this next chapter of your life 🙂
I haven't painted in over 10 years, but my sister's kids spent two weeks with me this summer and the oldest one is taking after their mother (she has a fine arts degree) so we spent a lot of time going to arts and crafts stores getting them supplies. At one point we looked over my stash and it was old, crusty, dried out, and just plain embarrassing. Your video came at the perfect time, you've given me a great starting point to rekindle a lost passion, thank you Chloe!
Love all the art supplies! Acrylic is one medium I never tried until last year and I love it now! Good quality acrylic paints make all the difference! I Love Golden Acrylic paint!! 🙌
Hi Chloe I doubt you will see this but I’ve been watching a lot of your old videos recently and you’ve inspired me to try and start to paint so I just want to say thank you❤
maybe you could have your art friends send you some art supplies they think are essential for someone starting new? like essential beginner stuff, essential intermediate stuff, essential pro stuff? and then you could compare what everyone sent and how much they agree or disagree?
Haha you forgot to fill up Jazzas bag, I was waiting to see Let’s see my favorite art supplies I couldn’t go without: -Col-erase prismacolor pencils, specifically Tuscan Red color -AlteNew alcohol markers (my fav brand) -Uncoated wood free paper - Zebra Fude brush pen extra fine and medium -Pentel Hi-Polymer erasers -A watercolor palette, I’m not picky sometimes I just like playing with watercolor so I wouldn’t wanna be without one for a year and a water brush to use with it And if I could get ahold of them which is unlikely (I only have some cause I found them at a thrift store) a set of vintage Eagle Turquoise Prismacolor pencils
I would love to see your wedding hacks and crafts. It would be so fun for anyone who is excited about planning their wedding, or anyone who’s just interested in hacks and crafts (like me lol)
You got the beautiful bag! Speaking on Phtalo Blue and Green, that one is called Phtalo Turqouise! (in the kickstarter. I personally call it petrol =D ) We do need more people to back it though! The more people, the more colors can be produced, and more art stuff included! (stretch goals) And yes, there is a STUFFED version with art supplies! You could get it, and have some more nice art supplies in December =D I am crocheying while watching this. And I learned through a set like that at a ripe age of 30 something. You can learn too, it is very fun! (especially amigurumi, like you found)
Jazza's first art kit introduced me to that eraser... never going back to those pink ones! This will be an exciting year! It'll be a fun challenge working with less art supplies =)
I bought one of the big palettes in college for my art classes, and love it. One tip is if you don’t want to keep having to replace the paper, go to a local glass shop and request a cut piece of glass to fit inside. If you let them know what you’re using it for, they’ll make sure to get you the correct thickness, and even grind the edges so it’s smooth and doesn’t cut you. It only cost me like $15, but that was like 8 years ago so…. 🤷🏻♀️ But I love having the glass palette. Clean up is still super fast and easy if you use one of those razor blade scraper things. And if you like having the neutral grey palette paper for color mixing purposes, you can just stick one underneath and it will last for ages!
totally agree about the signo white pen! i've tried many but they don't cover enough or sometimes they make like a double line and it's very annoying, the signo needs only one passage, and is great
When it rainth, it pourth! Sad the boxes got mixed up, but totally understand can happen in the chaos of packing & moving. Enjoumyed your shopping trip looking forward to what you will create! Again, happy face 😁 on your engagement!
I know what it's like to lose a lot of art supplies, as well as not having access to stuff in storage. I'm sorry that happened to you, but I'm glad it gave you the opportunity to start updating your supplies as you've been meaning to. ❤
Thanks for taking us along the journey! I love shopping along with you videos. I absolutely adore how you & Jazza are close and he sent those to you! (I’m made my heart melt for every video I saw where an artist got his bag, all my favorite artists are in the same social circle and are friends and I just love to watch you all!)
Rather than a pencil or chalk, I do watercolor pencil in a purple grey shade to sketch for my watercolor painting. You can either erase it with an eraser or water. If it does show on the edge the purple grey color looks like a shadow.
While I’m not into wedding stuff ( having your life go to hell and lose who were supposed be your family and friends betray you does that) seeing you test out wedding/ party art hacks would be interesting and I’m sure others would appreciate it. Congratulations on your engagement 🎉
That’s a bummer your supplies are stuck in storage for awhile, however at least they’re hopefully not lost forever. Your new haul is nice and I can’t wait to see what you make with them. My HIMI gouache is in a mint green case too. I have both the white gelly rolls and white uni balls. I also have a lot of gel pens in general.
FIANCÉ??? Omg CHLOE!!! I am literally so happy for you omg like I’m crying for you I’m so happy!!! I’m so sorry you lost some materials in the move and I hope you can find them soon. I can’t wait for the upcoming videos and I loved this one so much. How you edit the shopping segment just cracks me up. Love you❤
I recommend you try the Golden Open Acrylics. They have some starter sets. The two I'm aware of (and have) are the traditional colors and the modern colors.
We had one of the little heart frames for my wedding too. Really easy way to have a lasting record of who was there without having a random book sitting around
Outside of the things you already bought these are a few of the essentials I use daily, most aren’t the flashy tools but are the needs that keep things smooth: For acrylic a wet pallet with a lid (close to the one that you got but it has a sponge that holds water that you keep under the paper) For gouache and watercolor a ceramic pallet Ruler Pallet knives Washi tape Spray bottle Varnish Pencil sharpener Tweezers (for hair and dust out of paintings)
Starting over with a limited amount of supplies may challenge you. You may find some creative ideas you wouldn't have otherwise. Personally, I'm using liquid acrylics. I first bought them for painting sculptures and started trying to do some painting on canvas. For me they work fine because I'm not a professional artist. I can mix colors with them and I just like using them. 😃😃👋👋💖💖
Oh and do thing with house hold stuff. Lemon juice can make a secret message if carefull heated with candle. use candle soot (black stuff), paint with what you eat, paint with what you drink. Don't overflow with new stuff before you sorted your stuff. (and in a month or 2 it could be nice to go trough the boxes again to look again with a new perspective, so you can find what you need.
I've moved several times and had to start from scratch. at least you still have things and you can get always get some temporary items you use on a regular basis. That's absolutely smart going in with that mindset and not buying more than what you need or can use in that temporary setup Ironically i hate the gelly roll and signo. I use a crafts paint pen from the dollar tree for highlights and it flows so much better than them.
I'm with you on the Gelly Roll / Signo thing. Everyone raved so much about the Gelly Rolls and when I finally got one it was such a disappointment. I like the gold, silver and other Signo pens too. Just so smooth and great colour. Congratulations on your engagement! I'd love to see any wedding arty crafty stuff you try.
Hey Chloe, love your videos! When you demonstrated the Masterson Sta-Wet Palette, I didn't notice the sponge that goes underneath the paper and keeps your paint from drying out.... Not sure if you didn't get that on purpose or or if that particular palette doesn't use the sponge. Thought I would give you a heads up though😊
I've been using these erasers for the past year and they are THE BEST I've ever used and I've used a lot of erasers in my life! 100% recommend for art and writing!!! ✏🖌🤩
The thing I would want that you didn't get is pink soap for washing my brushes! It's been my brush cleaner & conditioner of choice for over a decade (about two decades actually) LOL but it's really great. Also, I keep my painting gear in a toolbox. Literal toolbox from the hardware store. Definitely something I'd recommend especially if you're in a small space, as it has the lift-out tray (where I put my brushes and pallete knives), and then a nice deep space for paint & such. The handle is useful, and it's great for organization needs.
my favorite purchase ever was a ceramic mixing palette for watercolor/gouaches! easy to clean and you can still use the dried up paint if you just add water to it
I actually have one of those pallet boxes. While yes, they can preserve the paint for reuse, the paint WILL still dry out over time. It will just take a lot longer. Honestly? Best to use up the paint after a good few days of it sitting or else you'll have wasted it or added to your new Jackson Pollock esque piece- if you don't change out your pallet paper like I did, that is.
I love to use chalk pastels for sidewalk chalk drawings/paintings. Where I live, we have something every year called a "Chalk Festival," where artists from all over come and do sidewalk drawings using chalk pastels.
Aa for "holy grail" art supplies - my favorite thing I tripped across recently is caran d'ache wax pastels. They have two types, one water soluble and one not, and I have both and LOVE them. They do exactly what I wish oil pastels would do, without the stink - and the water soluble ones can be painted with! So amazing.
This is a great collection of art supplies. I'm looking forward to see what you create! The paint seal box looks great! I've never seen one before. I could not live without my acrylic paints, coloured pencils, art diary, and lead pencils.
I personally cant live without Cresent Moon sketchbooks! They are amazing for markees as it doesnt show through on the other side! Also good for mixed media! Love the video btw!
The Golden Open Acrylics are definitely my biggest must-have! Such amazing paints! And the slow-drying aspect makes it much easier for me to work, at least with what my process looks like
I have tried a ton of different erasers and my personal favorite is the Faber Castell pencil erasers. You can sharpen them and they can get into tight corners/small spaces. They don't leave a lot of dust or anything. Definitely recommend trying them. I don't like kneadable erasers either.
So sorry to hear of your predicament. Love how you share all this information. Have you thought of having an Amazon merch store. You will get a kick back from purchases of your fans that go through the portal and buy art supplies. I hear lots of people make some cash for this. Love your show.
I would absolutely love to see some diy wedding things! I’m getting married in October and am trying to diy as much as possible. I’ve done my centrepieces and bouquets and am having a ton of fun with it so I would love to see some more ideas!! Congratulations!🎉
Congratulations on the engagement!! My wife and just got married in May. We didn't have a lot of money to spend on our wedding so we had to be creative with our decor, flowers, etc, but we enjoy that kind of thing and are very creative. We shop sales at the craft stores and used coupons to make it work. For example, we used lanterns as part of our centerpieces and we found some "winter/christmas" themed ones on clearance at Michael's towards the end of the season. Really they were white with a glittery top and a pinecone bow that once removed it didn't look seasonal at all. So perfect! Also the clearance sections at craft stores are great too. We got our toasting flutes at Michaels on clearance. regardless of what you do enjoy the experience, it's your day and don't let anyone else try to influence it (easier said then done). Congrats again and remember the wedding is only one day, so enjoy the planning and creating part of it as well!
Ask to do a collab with friends to ask to use their (weirdest, horrible etc etc etc) supplies and make an list so you can sent them a different set of someone else.
Ugh, moving is such a hassle. I feel your pain. At least you can buy just the essentials, and you will have an incentive to go through the stuff in storage? Re the Himi goache - Cecile Yadro made a convincing case against Himi for beginners. Check out that video.
i loveee the fable castell dust free erasers!!! they are sooo good and the best eraser i’ve ever tried! the smaller mono (idk the brand but that is the name of them) erasers are amazing as well!!!
I've had to replace my art materials a few times over in my life. Catastrophic not only because I'm "without", but I have many interests and as you well know EXPENSIVE. I've recently begun to rebuild, and it took me a few years to want to (and not just because I'd gone digital- love PROCREATE and can't live without it). It ate a bit at my self, and took some real mourning this time. The benefit of this, I'm trying new things (or old things I'd wished to have learned.) so I have to play, because for all I know, I actually have some new favorites. As to old, I love Zig calligraphy pens, though I love my old Rexall, I haven't used them in a bit, because they've changed ownership and not only are they different, so is my eyesight. But like you, I adore the Fudenosake markers by Tombow (they also make a great refillable pocket brush, that is fast becoming another fave to draw and calligraph with). I also come back over and over again to Pilot's B2P (bottle to pen) ballpoints, especially the black) for drawing my pen and ink. The Fudenosake and Zig add MORE punch when I want an OMGoodness black to my drawing. Right now playing with gouache and watercolor, though I work mainly in acrylic. I'm also using Arteza quite a bit, not only because they're relatively inexpensive, but they are quality enough. Love Strathmore multimedia sketch (reminds me to do a sketchbook tour, because I'd really like to get over my despite of sharing TH-cam and TikTok videos-I know I've not utilized them enough, I just feel old, awkward and not so attractive, but in the end, I think what's in my noggin' is more important, so ONE of the goals this upcoming year is to get over that shtuff.) Bought a few spoiled artist books to play with as well a Canson sketchbook. The next two will be the two you suggest, I've heard from many they are both good, but it's like good Chinese food. As much as I want to try something new, I KNOW I love what I love. Anyhow, fun videos, love the accent, and your art. Great good luck in the new place and congratulations on becoming engaged1
omg, I have felt the same way about the jelly roll pens! Everyone and their mom talks about how great they are and I have had nothing but issues with mine. They are either dry, not white enough or when they are, there is a split in any line I make because the ball separates the ink in the middle. I use the uniball signo white pen because it's the best one that I've found so far! It's very clear on the paper, vibrant, opaque, and doesn't dry out like the jelly roll pens! I love the uniball one so much!
Love shopping for art supplies! Is there anything better? I've been really enjoying those Viviva watercolor sheets. They come in a variety of beautiful, vibrant colors , they aren't very expensive imo, and with a set of Ohuhu watercolor brush pens, you can take your art just about anywhere. Portable, compact, and a very reasonable price. Love it! ❤
New art supplies are always fun and I totally get the I packed it all up did that a while ago for a whole year too ... my old acrylics did become pretty dry but the texture they made , made me use them up :)
We just "rented for a year" between selling and buying houses. We wound up with three storage units and renting the "in between" house for 2 years before we found the right house to buy next. We also spent most of our profit from the sale during that time. Anyway, I wish you better luck than we had!
I've used Gelly Roll, Fine white Posca and the Signo Uniball pens - the Signo is my favourite. I find it goes on very smoothly whereas with the other two they don't. Next time I need to restock on white pens, I'll be going with the Signo.
as someone who has moved a lot and had housing difficulties I have gotten really good at knowing what bare minimum materials I can use for a year+ and honestly just because I lived either out of a car or a backpack I typically used just a random medium sized sketchbook, bic pens, and cheap brush markers from the dollar store to add interest. also really picked up digital art on my phone because of ease and how lightweight just having a phone is compared to paper and supplies. for me a bic pen is really my end all I just love them I don't know why, they are suuuper cheap, I think you can get a 10 pack for 2 dollars? but yeah. this was interesting to watch and see what supplies other artists would see as absolutely mandatory for long bits of time

@@ChloeRoseArt Not a different seal, the one you bought is made mainly for oil paints, which don't need a sponge.
Crochet is so easy to get the hang of! Someone I know does crochet workshops in the uk so you can always find any workshops around! :)
I'd love to see you do some wedding related content! Congratulations btw ❤
I’m so sorry about your precious cat. He’s waiting in heaven ✝️🙏🏼🩷 until then… ♥️
I really hope you are able to get all the supplies you need.
Oof I hate when things go missing that I use for art
And congrats on the new house 😁
Hi Chloe I doubt you will see this but I’ve been watching a lot of your old videos recently and you’ve inspired me to try and start to paint so I just want to say thank you❤
That's awesome! Good luck and I hope you have a blast 🎉
thats so lovely thank you!! I hope you enjoy painting and have fun, thats the most important part!
Most craft stores put our Christmas in July, it's not to try to rush the season but to give crafters time to prepare and create their creations.
maybe you could have your art friends send you some art supplies they think are essential for someone starting new? like essential beginner stuff, essential intermediate stuff, essential pro stuff? and then you could compare what everyone sent and how much they agree or disagree?
This is a great idea
Haha you forgot to fill up Jazzas bag, I was waiting to see
Let’s see my favorite art supplies I couldn’t go without:
-Col-erase prismacolor pencils, specifically Tuscan Red color
-AlteNew alcohol markers (my fav brand)
-Uncoated wood free paper
- Zebra Fude brush pen extra fine and medium
-Pentel Hi-Polymer erasers
-A watercolor palette, I’m not picky sometimes I just like playing with watercolor so I wouldn’t wanna be without one for a year and a water brush to use with it
And if I could get ahold of them which is unlikely (I only have some cause I found them at a thrift store) a set of vintage Eagle Turquoise Prismacolor pencils
I would love to see your wedding hacks and crafts. It would be so fun for anyone who is excited about planning their wedding, or anyone who’s just interested in hacks and crafts (like me lol)
thank you!!
You got the beautiful bag! Speaking on Phtalo Blue and Green, that one is called Phtalo Turqouise! (in the kickstarter. I personally call it petrol =D )
We do need more people to back it though! The more people, the more colors can be produced, and more art stuff included! (stretch goals) And yes, there is a STUFFED version with art supplies!
You could get it, and have some more nice art supplies in December =D
I am crocheying while watching this.
And if you like having the neutral grey palette paper for color mixing purposes, you can just stick one underneath and it will last for ages!
totally agree about the signo white pen! i've tried many but they don't cover enough or sometimes they make like a double line and it's very annoying, the signo needs only one passage, and is great
Me too! I think I've tried them all at this point, and the signos are the ones I keep going back to.
“So we’re going to get these soft pastels… said no one ever” 😳 honestly I froze like what, why??? thank goodness you weren’t being serious 😂😂
hahahaha the things I see some people do and have the patience for when it comes to soft pastels is amazing honestly!
Id love seeing you exploring the wedding art/craft hacks
Rather than a pencil or chalk, I do watercolor pencil in a purple grey shade to sketch for my watercolor painting. You can either erase it with an eraser or water. If it does show on the edge the purple grey color looks like a shadow.
While I’m not into wedding stuff ( having your life go to hell and lose who were supposed be your family and friends betray you does that) seeing you test out wedding/ party art hacks would be interesting and I’m sure others would appreciate it. Congratulations on your engagement 🎉
Those Uni white pens are TOP TIER!!! I absolutely ADORE them, especially when working with black paper
We had a heart frame at our wedding, it felt much better than a guest book which gets put away!
Also, yes you should try crochet! It’s so much fun! 😁
RIP the art supplies 😢
😢
Outside of the things you already bought these are a few of the essentials I use daily, most aren’t the flashy tools but are the needs that keep things smooth:
For acrylic a wet pallet with a lid (close to the one that you got but it has a sponge that holds water that you keep under the paper)
For gouache and watercolor a ceramic pallet
Ruler
Pallet knives
Washi tape
Spray bottle
Varnish
Pencil sharpener
Tweezers (for hair and dust out of paintings)
YES- wedding crafts & art!!!
My wedding was like 2 years ago but I wouid absolutely watch and save those if you did them. 🎉 so happy for you!
YES! The UniBall Signo! Those....THOSE.....are the best gel pens ever.
The acrylic mixing medium also slows the drying time of acrylics so they blend nice - great for backgrounds.
I would love a video/mini series where you learn to crochet! that sounds like so much fun! 🥰
That's absolutely smart going in with that mindset and not buying more than what you need or can use in that temporary setup
Ironically i hate the gelly roll and signo. I use a crafts paint pen from the dollar tree for highlights and it flows so much better than them.
Oh my gosh, I can feel your pain! We are in the process of selling, moving, and storing!!! Trying to decide what, where and how. Good luck to you!
I thought it's gonna be hypothetical "what would I buy " , and you actually went to buy stuff 😮😮😮😮
I hope you can get all your art supplies back. ❤
Hi Chloe! With the Acrylic container to keep them wet longer, try a damp paper towel under the paper, it helps a little extra!
Let me send you some watercolor supplies! Perfect excuse to get your watercolor on:)
Yes yes yes! Please do a wedding craft video!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😮😮😮😮😮😮😂😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉😮😮😮😮😮😅😅😅😅😅😅😢😢😢😢😢
Bless Chloe moving is incredibly stressful! ❤
Did I hear... prenatal vitamins?? :) All the best Chloe!! I hope you'll have a wonderful little family soon, what a beautiful project
I thought I was mishearing her! I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who heard it
Totally agree with you on the uniball vs jelly roll white pens!
Poor chloe she's clearly stressed 😢 take thease hearts all of them!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤💕💕💕💕💕💕🩷🩷🩷❤️💖💝💝💘💌💗💖💝💗💖💖
oh that faber castell eraser is my favourite eraser ever, it is so smooth, erases amazingly and delivers on the dust free claim. highly recommend
I totally agree with you on the white Signo pens!
Yes!! I would love to watch you do wedding crafty stuff!!!
Ask to do a collab with friends to ask to use their (weirdest, horrible etc etc etc) supplies and make an list so you can sent them a different set of someone else.
I like that idea! Just because it didn't work for them doesn't mean it won't work for someone else. Or use it in a different than normal way.
Ugh, moving is such a hassle. I feel your pain. At least you can buy just the essentials, and you will have an incentive to go through the stuff in storage?
Re the Himi goache - Cecile Yadro made a convincing case against Himi for beginners. Check out that video.
This will be a great video for folks getting back into art or recovering from some kind of loss (fire, burglary, etc)
i loveee the fable castell dust free erasers!!! they are sooo good and the best eraser i’ve ever tried! the smaller mono (idk the brand but that is the name of them) erasers are amazing as well!!!
Yesssss please do wedding art videos!! Ive been looking for cheaper ways to do things by doing it myself.
I love the uniball one so much!
rolls of canvas is the best. No annoying frame, a huge amount of canvas for a great price
I got a Tombow Mechanical Pencil and loved it and it’s better than any other mechanical pencil
I didn’t get a chance to congratulate you yet! I saw your short the order day and was so excited for you! Congratulations!!!
Crochet is the way forwards! I learnt off bella coco's youtube and now teaching my daughter
I've used Gelly Roll, Fine white Posca and the Signo Uniball pens - the Signo is my favourite. I find it goes on very smoothly whereas with the other two they don't. Next time I need to restock on white pens, I'll be going with the Signo.
as someone who has moved a lot and had housing difficulties I have gotten really good at knowing what bare minimum materials I can use for a year+ and honestly just because I lived either out of a car or a backpack I typically used just a random medium sized sketchbook, bic pens, and cheap brush markers from the dollar store to add interest. also really picked up digital art on my phone because of ease and how lightweight just having a phone is compared to paper and supplies. for me a bic pen is really my end all I just love them I don't know why, they are suuuper cheap, I think you can get a 10 pack for 2 dollars? but yeah. this was interesting to watch and see what supplies other artists would see as absolutely mandatory for long bits of time
Hi Chloe! I would have to say that I can't live without my Holbein gouache and Daniel Smith watercolour paints!
