Yo Barna, yep i use DCS with the vive and i have to say not even 10K would be better then this ...but there is a catch....yep its 3D but even a MONSTER pc cant handle even medium resolution . I have to put everything to minimum and thats with a GTX1080 ! but boy its AMAZING. ps luv your channel dude !
Hmmm, just a thought Squirrel. This would involve you diving into DCS Multiplayer (quite a rewarding challenge in itself). There's a server going by the name of Open Conflict. It's a Player vs Player, Player vs AI dynamic campaign server. Whenever a player gets shot down within the conflict area, it is scripted that the downed pilot sends a distress signal, then a mission becomes available for any transport helicopter pilots on the server who might have the Huey or MI8 can head out to pickup the downed pilot marking his location by blue smoke. While players on your side will do what they can to keep you from getting shot down. Just thought you might be tempted by the thought of it all.
I can't believe they took such care in modeling the strip but completely left out downtown Vegas which is not far north of the Stratosphere tower. Also, another thing you notice right off the bat while flying over Vegas is the amount of people with personal swimming pools in their backyards. The color of them all just smack you in the face...it's impossible to miss. Oh and way more golf courses all over town. I know, I know I'm being too picky but I lived there for so long it's just a couple things that kinda stuck out to me. Otherwise, it really does look pretty awesome. Edit: Spelling
The toilet bowl exhaust is characteristic of the VNAF Huey, it helps protect the a/c from SA7 heat seeking missiles by cooling down the exhaust with the rotor wash.
That "barbeque lighter" sound is pretty much the sound of the igniters. They only run til the engine starts and like any turbine they are turned off after it starts since the fire burns continuously in a turbine engine. This is the first sim where I have heard it. I use to stand back by the engine with a fire extinguisher while I peered into the engine cowling while my Hueys started. Part of the job of a crew chief. This is a great simulator game, incredible detail. Well done on the video.

Very nice 4K video. I also have a 4K PC and monitor. I am currently running the disc version 1.2 of DCS Huey. I would like to do the latest version 2.0 on a fresh install from the dcs world website. Nice video, but when you said (around 15:00) that Freesync kicks in between 40-60 fps its not acctualy what is happening cos you have Nvidia card. It would be true for AMD card. I have MG278Q /1440p /144hz (FreeSync) and gtx 1080 combination running DCS
Now that you mentioned it, I particularly like the compass attached to the side there in this helicopter. Nice flying skills by the way. As for Vegas I'm not too impressed looking at it closely but seeing the whole picture it does feel like in real life. It's pretty impressive that this map is in 1:1 scale, I'd like more games in 1:1 scale but it's probably not a good idea anyways XD the thing is certain details here are missing especially the roads and some of them are connected a little bit weird but it was an interesting fly around. 28:43 "I'd probably have ATC screaming at me right now" XD
From the tests I have seen of the Nvidia GTX1080 it really struggles with 4k giving like 30-50fps in most games. Most people would like to be able to lock it at 60fps or higher meaning you would have to get two 1080s which are kind of expensive. I think DCS don't really stress the gfx card as much as many other games seeing as it gives 40+fps at 4k with a 980Ti.
+hanse81 every game or sim is different in how much it stresses the card. There is always a bottleneck in your system and it may or may not be the gfx card. Just buying two 1080 cards does not mean rock solid 60fps 4K gaming - that's what a lot of people fail to understand. DCS does a decent job though - trying flying 4K in P3D over some FlyTampa scenery
so I downloaded the Arizona dlc for ATS before I put the game in the 1.3 open beta. so when I go to the map Arizona is grey but there is no roads in Arizona and I can't go there what do I do also keep up the good work

You use the throttle to control collective since the actual Huey throttle remains at 100% at all times (hold PgUp/PgDn in DCS to control throttle). I looked at buying a device for controlling throttle and collective but they are fiercely expensive.

I disagree with the blurring at 1440p. I prefer to play at 1440p on my 4ktv than going all the way back to 1080p. It looks absolutely fine and much better than 1080p. I also often play at 1440p on my Asus 4K monitor too. But mines lcd. Could it be your monitor?
It's simple mathematics though. Look at the resolutions: 1920×1080 (FHD, Full HD, 2K 1080p) 2560×1440 (QHD, WQHD, Quad HD, 1440p) 3840×2160 (UHD, Ultra HD, 4K, 2160p) The middle one does not integer-divide into the other two in either the X or Y scale. The top and bottom do. That's why you get blurring with a 1440p game on a non-1440p screen.
Squirrel I get the point. 1 pixel equals 4. Therefore the 1080p is 1to1. But in my experience, 1440p still looks better than 1080p whether it be on my 4K 28" lcd Asus Monitor or my 4K 42" LG TV. There's still more detail and you are essential just upsampling, the exact same way the Xbox one has done from 900p to 1080p. If that wasn't the case, down sampling would look awful too. Down sampling from 1440p on a 1080p monitor would look bad, but it doesn't. In fact it's a heavily suggested setting if you have enough horse power as it works better than AA. As I said, I don't dispute your maths. I'm saying I still believe that 1440p looks better than 1080p on a 4K panel and haven't noticed any of this 'blurring' you mention.
I have dual-monitors 4k at 55' witch are 2 smart tv at 4k with IPS. I play DCS world on them 4k and yea sound big an 55' monitor but after like 2 month's seems just ok. Not to big not to small but you feel like SOMETHING BIGGER IS GONNA BE BETTER. =]]
Squirrel can you imagine ETS/ATS but with helicopters build you own freelance helicopter company with customizable helicopters that could be set up to take contracts from Swat, mountain rescue coast guard, Private military contracts and it`s up to you to decide what direction your company goes in
yeah but they never really aimed for the whole build your own company thing it was just a story more than that, i`d love to see some do take on heli 2 set up like ETS/ATS not story based
The altimeter was zeroed at the start of the flight, so it wasn't showing true altitude above sea. Pretty common to reset your barometric altimeter to 0 on the runway where you start. That's why tower will tell you the barometric settings to use as well, so that while you approach, you can make sure the altimeter reads 0 on the runway.... Since, well, frankly, who cares how high above sea level you are as a pilot. You care about how high above the ground you are :)
For some very weird reason TH-cam only gives me a 1080p60 as the highest resolution on this video, even though I am on a 5K monitor (iMac 5K) and I have played 4K TH-cam videos before. Am I missing something here?

If u watch in 4K on 1080 monitor quality is better as u have a better image then straight 1080 as it is a better image down scaled

I don't think I could not go 4k until 144Hz/fps is realistic, I've tried playing back in 60hz again and I just do not know how people do it.
some televisions are 4k 200hz so you can probably get a monitor in 144hz mabey
Yeah, but the problem is computers will not run 4K at over 144fps for some time and until that point I think I'll have to stick to 1080 (:
Just use DSR (Nvidia) / VSR (AMD/Radeon), it will allow you to downsample 4k and retain your monitors 144hz (or highest possible)

Yes it does. It means that every 1 measurement in game equals the same measurement in the real world. So 1 meter = 1 meter etc.

Make sure to look inside the hangars at Area 51. There is an easter egg in one of them.

why was the altimeter only showing between 200 and 600 feet?... Las Vegas is at about 2200 feet elevation.
Isn't that the distance to the ground?
altimeters display altitude above swa level...unless maybe it was slaved to a radar altimeter or something.
