    • @thecrazymangoman
      @thecrazymangoman 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Olly Warnes Its a mode the engines go into based on temp and runway lenght. For noise control and fuel saving. So its not letting the engines go as high as they could. like a derated takeoff

    As a resident of Canberra, I'm must say that your approach was like none I've ever experienced! From the landmarks on the ground, you definitely came in from the north, and flights always come in from the south. The bank (or whatever) was a little late in the approach for my underwear. On the plus side, the in-flight service was great, contained traces of nuts, which I always enjoy. Thanks for flying into CBR, enjoy your stay.

    • @squirrel

      hmm well for Prepar3D you might like to go with academic version but if you are not student you probably will not be able to get it then the basic professional one. But I highly recommend if you dont have special needs that prepar gives you should go with Xplane. (better graphics, starting to have more support from community and will have lot of new features and UI) But yeah you may need to go for the professional one for prepar.

    Although the technique you employed in getting down on time worked, the best thing to do in that situation would be to switch to a visual approach, and enter a left/right hand traffic pattern. But it's a sim, so of course it's not that important! Great video though :)

    That is such an old model of canberra (I live there). The terminal has been completely redone and there is now a lot more buildings around the airport. The "Air Force One" on the other ramp was probably the prime ministers plane.

      +Mikel Sopelana Durango one Concorde crashed, a metal strap broke off a DC-10 that took off before it. the metal strap blew one of the main gear tires and the tire fragments ripped a whole in its fuel tank, which ignited. after it took off it rolled over and crashed.

    I guess you should also visit Ottawa, Canada for its -30 C during winters. It's indeed quite interesting. It does get overly cold cold with the windchill (that wind is horrid) with you knowing it'll have at least one freezing rain period every winter. Same with at least one -40 (and further below with windchill). Not all the time because weather on this planet is not sterile that it should follow climate charts 100%. It's also because of the weather that people's brain in this city freezes up that they're insanely crazy. Same, or worse, can be said for Toronto :P. Cabin fever, & all those lovely emotional stresses caused by winter.
    Loved the flying btw. Love the banter & jokes. I guess I'm one of those 100 people watching your videos :P

    Flap retraction in a turn is generally not advised just incase only one side decides it wants to retract. Could put you in a bad situation. I realize it's a sim, just something to add to the realism.
