    “G” could stand for “Ganesha”, explaining the elephant trunk it has.

    That battle in that scene from unicorn series shows Capool and Juaggu are really heavy mechs, it's like a heavy construction vehicle heavy enough to trash a modern tank. Also wasn't the trunk used as a telescope in one of the series before?

    • @slothcakes
      @slothcakes  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For its size the capool is heavy so it's just a wrecking ball with guns also in other series AM have shown to have periscope they can use to scout the waters surface

    We Juaggu fans eating good. Always loved the weird Zeon prototype suits and elephants are my favorite animal. So ofc I love Juaggu. Never thought I’d see twenty minutes on it. Just found your channel and I’m glad to see amphibious mobile suits get love. I feel like their a bit of a meme in japan.
    I can’t remember when I first saw the Juaggu probably it’s model kit? Episode 4 of unicorn is what hooked me on that series.

      Thank you, zeons got some questionable looking ms especially on their amphibious side. The acguy at times get shown as a goofy character like in the manga 2500 miles cross America also in some games like the extreme versus series.
      The battle of Torrington is my favorite part of unicorn, I like seeing all these ms that dont get the spotlight a chance to shine

    i love that he was such a chonker that regular GM weapons couldn't critically damage him immediately, and the fact the large barrels could stop a beam saber and even force the GM back is just so silly i love it.

    Im guessing the trunk gathers water like a real elephant so it can use the water to water cool the weapons which is why despite its smaller size and granted just slightly strong armor that it can still be dented by a GMIII, Im guessing its being slowed down because its carrying water and whenever it uses the concentrated beams or the standard mega particle cannons and it breathes out the steam which is why it doesn't use the beam cannons that much since you can only carry so much water before you convert it into vapors from the constant use of the beam cannons which is why its secondary weapon the rocket launcher fingers complement its lack of defense during its charging/cooldown time, its also got me thinking when you brought up its original purpose which was the invasion of Jaburo and Jaburo was like water everywhere my guess was it was intended as a rear line support for the frontline amphibious suits since it can stay in the water keep its trunk submerged and constantly siphon water to cool itself and give them the capability for continuous fire and if ever the enemy got close instead of relocating it can simply use its rocket launchers which seem to be effective at close range maybe with different rocket types compared to the ones used in Unicorn, as for the concentrated beam customization I think like with the Aqua GM with its concentrated beam spray gun which minimized the beam into a laser pointer allowed it to extend the range of the beam when underwater, so I think the customization of the Juaggu to instead use the concentrated and long duration beam was for underwater use but like the GM sniper it can also be used for support since it is easily as powerful and has longer range than the beam sniper, the Juaggu from Unicorn would make a good amphibious mobile suit for coastal and aerial defense if it can fire a continuous beam more consistently thanks to the constant supply of water cooling it would get if it would just sit out and float about on the sea and my guess with the head is it was intentionally done that way to serve as a ballast tank maybe to help balance it out during rough sea conditions allowing it to fire more accurately which is why for some reason out of the other amphibious MS the Juaggu has the least field of vision much like the zaku reconnaiscance or zaku sniper because Im guessing and this might be a far stretch but Im guessing that its got a long range sensor for sniping.

    the part about it being able to shoot its nose. You are right it can. but i think that's why the nose can move. It doesn't do this in GBO2 (though it should) but i imagine it can just lift the nose and use all the MPC's at once.

    I love the juaggu I believe they accidentally drew parallels to French tanks especially the char 2c a massive and powerful weapon meant to turn the tides of battle but never deployed and when re deployed they’ve gone from a powerful weapon to a an average machine that’s too slow and to big of a machine to be effective

    • @slothcakes

      I love the elephant acguy too, looking at the tank and its multi barrels i can see the parallel and them being deployed late and suffering for it is spot on. the juaggu did put up a fight tho and would of been a demon if it was able to deploy in jaburo

    somehow these extremely limited production units survived for DECADES to kick ass. WHERE DID THEY GET THE PARTS???
    Ya the Trunk is a REALLY fatal design flaw as you can easily shoot through it. its a terrible design the trunk should have been fixed in place. or even better mount it on the back.
    It's a clunky design that can blow its own cooling system off and needs to operate as part of a dedicated unit so i say its got more then enough problems that mass production would have been a bad idea. Basic Juaggu feels like a prototype that didn't have its obvious problems worked out yet. and the Kai is the production version.
    the Juaggu Kai and Thunderbolt version on the other hand fix most of those issue so i could see them being used more.
    AS FOR HOLDING BACK: when the Juaggu is destroyed they specifically mention its reactor shut down safely.
    so ya i would say limiting the potentially MUCH worse damage from a reactor breach was high on their list while fighting in a city.
    ALso i feel that the Thin beams are actuall superior, as they indicate a much tighter focusing system that avoids wasting energy on a huge blast and has superior range and penetration of beam resistant targets. Also especially when you have 4 of these things you don't really need 4 BIG blasts as e see the four beams trap the Nemo and slice it to bits.

    • @slothcakes

      With how much of a fight it put up I wonder how it would hold in 0079 during the fight at jaburo. I appreciate the acguy variants the more the merrier, they had something here maybe a revision back to the workshop would it's problems.

    How come a beam javelin was able to cut through the Juaggu's launcher barrels, but not the beam sabers?

    • @slothcakes
      @slothcakes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      how i see it is that the beam javelin has more concentrated minovsky particles than the beam saber making it "stronger". this could be because the handle which stores e caps is bigger than a beam saber and maybe can have bigger/more e caps giving it more power also the beam part of the javlin is smaller than the saber which maybe focuses it more. we done get to much inof in the specs of beam sabers so this is just my speculation

    • @sangheilicommander1056
      @sangheilicommander1056 ปีที่แล้ว

      the javaline is a more concentrated beam blade at the tip. even in the original gundam they are the same weapon. but all the power is formed at the tip instead of the whole blade.

    • @smol_hornet613
      @smol_hornet613 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Another factor was also the surface area of the cut. When blocking the beam saber, you can see that the Juaggu did so along all three rocket barrels at the same time, spreading out the impact as much as possible. In contrast, the beam javelin penetrated with a thrust into the side of the hand, and then ripped through from the inside.
