    Assassin's Creed: Revelations actually surprised me with Yusuf's death. He was such a solid, reliable bro and I didn't expect him to be offed. It actually got me pissed at Ezio's foes and the revenge mission afterwards was very welcome.

      Yusuf’s death in Assassin’s Creed: Revelations was definitely a tough moment. He was such a charismatic and loyal character, and his sudden demise added an emotional punch to the story. It made the stakes feel personal for Ezio, which drove home the seriousness of the Templar threat. The revenge mission right after felt like a natural and cathartic response, making you want to go after the Templars with even more determination. It’s one of those narrative twists that deepened the story and made it more impactful.

      @shauci True. All depends on what they do with the Mirage. If they actually do a good job at Mirage, then I still think Yusuf as the protagonist would be a good game. As he says when the Byzantine emperor was in charge the assassins were hunted down and killed on the spot. And for the past 5 years, the templars have been quiet. Maybe the transition from being hunted down to the rise would be a good setting.

    This game was so beautiful. It's the first game I ever played and I remember spending the first few days just watching Constantinople teeming with life (it took me more than a couple of days to get that name right tho😉). It totally changed my thoughts about RPG games. That awesome masyaf opening, Altair's memory, getting 100% sync, getting masyaf keys!!! master assassin mission, saving dens and a whole lot of mysteries (as it was my 1st time playing ac)
    Then I heard there was 4 other ac games. I remember constantly asking my friend "are they just like Revelation? Tell meeee "
    But the thing I loved the most was that yellow-orange-ish feel of the city. Plus I was mind blown when I found out byzantines, janniseries, ottoman are real historical figures.
    Thanx for uploading the whole Yusuf interaction part.

      @ZlatkoTheGod 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Weird that you didn't know the Ottomans or Byzantines existed, they were huge empires, knowledge of them seemed kind of ubiquitous to me. But maybe that's just cause the place I live in was occupied by them for like 500 years lol.
      Revelations is a tragically underrated game but I feel like it doesn't have the same weight if you haven't played the entirety of the franchise up to that point, especially the Ezio trilogy of which this is the conclusion. If you haven't already I suggest you play the first games in order up to this one, they may seem a bit bare bones compared to Revelations now but they are all undoubtedly worth playing.
      The first one has a unique atmosphere they never truly recaptured, the second one improved upon almost everything in the first game and created the series' identity and Brotherhood solidified it along with refining the gameplay while also offering a distinct unique atmosphere through Rome.
      And though I feel the series went downhill with 3 and never recovered I will still play the games that I missed after they became too demanding for my computer.
      Either way have fun with the games if you haven't already.

    Yusuf is funniest and most entertaining charachter of whole AC history and also very friendly. I'm not telling this because I am Turkish but he was one of the best subsidiary role charachters of game history. You can play him with a decent chance in AC Rebellion mobile game. I also want to say Yusuf's Turkish accent is very bad almost like the "Suleyman the Magnificent". Ubisoft should have given more importance to that.

    Came here for Tazim, but couldn't help to admire Roger Craig Smith's voice acting. His Ezio progression from the character's youthhood to adulthood, and then to his elderly years, is just something to highly appreciate; from brash and arrogant to wise.
    My Fav voice actors of all time would have to be these in no particular order:
    Phil Lamar;
    Nolan North;
    Troy Baker;
    Roger Craig Smith.

      Agree. It was actually my first game in Ezio Trilogy. Definitely also one of the most saddest games (in term of the atmosphere, where you feel sadness and endings near), because it shows the truth to both Desmond, Ezio and player. Man, this game really gives some Metal Gear Solid 4 vibes due to being the last game of the main protagonists (both Ezio plus Altair and Solid Snake, who became old, tired and only wanted peace at least, but before finish the final goal).

Definitely the most sad (in terms of atmosphere and environment) game of all AC franchise. Because you can feel how Ezio became old, all he wants now is find the truth and then live a peaceful life. Same could be said to Altair in this game (especially with his last memory due to Masyaf key).

      Yusuf Tazim was definitely a standout character in Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. He was not only a skilled fighter but also a great leader who brought charm and humor to the story. His friendship with Ezio felt genuine, and his dedication to protecting Constantinople made him a key ally. His death had a profound impact, showing how even the strongest warriors are vulnerable in the war against the Templars. He was the kind of character that left a lasting impression.

    • @austinkersey2445
      @austinkersey2445 4 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      Considering the voice actor is American and recieved coaching for the role and accent, I'd say he did admirably. Also Ubisoft changed the accents because they found the stereotypical accent that we associate with foreign languages is accurate. So, they instead changed the accents enough so that they didn't seem "offensive". They did the same with the Italians in 2 and Brotherhood.

    • @austinkersey2445
      @austinkersey2445 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @NinjaStyle I never said they did. I'm just saying that the accent we often associate as being a, "stereotypical" accent for a language is an exaggeration based on accurate observation. For instance Indian Brahmin accents are very similar to what we think is the stereotypical Indian accent (depends on the thickness), but then there are Oxford educated Indians who have a slight inflection but with the vast majority of their vocabulary sounding like Recieved Pronunciation (Upper-class British).

    one thing i think Revelations missed, was utilizing the byzantine empire correctly. (massive historical bias on my part)
    At the time, The Catholic Church was in Templar hands, and the schism between them and Orthodox was wider than it is today. Maybe the assassin/templar conflict was a part of what they schism existed.
    They could have had the Byzantines represent an "old Guard" of eastern assassins, ones who became almost like templars in their way of handling things, caught up in their own history, nobility and power that they fell with the Byzantine empire from established corruption, or maybe had a hand in why the Empire fell due to their negligence.
    part of the Italian renaissance was the intelligentsia of constantionople emigrated to Italy, which in turn gave birth to the culture that Ezio was raised in - and to pay it back Ezio could have helped the Byzantines assassins reinvent themselves. That could have been nice.
    The Byzantines are just so interesting, but also overlooked and I felt this game follow that trend.
