One of the best thing about mob psycho is that instead of building your character around a specific power , the show twist the powers around a character to put them in more complex and interesting situations

I like to think that the number percent that goes up is due to mobs conflicting emotions. Every time he is confused or does not know how to proceed, or has the desire to protect but still wants to keep his powers in check it goes up. Once it is at 100% the current emotion mob has manifested its power differently.
It's been shown multiple times that the number IS actually his emotional state. Spoiler alert
In his first fight against dimple (and multiple others) it's 100% rage, after he destroyed teruki's school it's 100% sadness, against mogami it's 100% happiness
It's not only a way to show what emotional state mob is at, it's also a way to tell the viewers "look out shit's about to go down"

The only thing I think you got wrong here is that Mob's power does not increase proportionally to his percentage. Instead, he has a single power level until his emotions run too high and his dam breaks, sending out a deluge of power. Afterwards, he is often physically drained because he straight up uses his entire power reservoir. 100% has nothing to do with using his full power and everything to do with not holding back and letting an emotion fuel his power.
Second, Mob's percentage does not go down when he feels a new emotion. It's the amount of emotional stress he is under. So all emotions slowly whittle away at the wall. It is the last emotion that powers the stage. This is clearly seen in the 6th episode of this season when Mob goes 100% Trust. The power goes away because he gives up the 100% state in his trust, not that his emotions shift and bring him back to 0. His percentage returns to 0 only when he finally bursts. The manga makes this way more clear.
@@brendandangelo715 Yes, the percentage is a stress counter. The emotion connected to the 100% once the dam breaks is simply the emotion that caused the last push which finally broke the dam. Or you could say the emotion that causes 100% Mob is the straw the breaks the camel's back.
At 7:08 you mention that "Mob is undoubtably the strongest esper in Mob psycho, he's the main character that just makes sense" I can literally now dozens of examples of series where the main character isn't the strongest.

Dimples sacrifice to make sure mob was safe actually felt so shitty. I always just thought of him as a joke character but he definitely cared about mob even if he was rather wishy washy about how he acted. That final fight between the 2 was genuinely emotional

I don't think the numbers on the screen represent mobs power level but rather his emotional instability. He can use his full power whenever he wants but he just doesn't want to because of his fear of hurting people, and when he reaches 100% he's too angry or upset to contain his full power

Not really. This show is really well known. It ain't slept on at all. If u think it's UNDERRATED, however, then yeah. It's underrated for you. But this show, as a whole, is pretty damn popular.

Another example of power derived from the thoughts of others is the urban legends in season two. Both their experience and their power is derived from collective thought. Mob was stronger against the Dragger because he didn't have any preexisting fears related to it.

???% Mob is his full unbound power. He can cause natural disasters,(i.e. tornadoes, earthquakes, buildings to float, etc.), absorb psychic energy from other psychics either through attacks via via proxy, has slightl technomancy, increases gravity,(possibly turn matter into more energy but that's more speculative than confirmed).

At the end of mob psycho when mob was out of control he did actually beat every psychic in the series. It was noted by serizawa that Mob had more energy than he did during their fight. More than the guy with 20 yrs of storing energy. It crazy how stronk mob is when there is no holding back

Psychokenisis actually doesn't imply having Force like powers at all, that's telekenisis, roughly meaning distant or traveling force.
Psychokenisis would roughly mean mental force, and since all the abilities aren't mind based and people's emotions and that of others affects things i would assume it's referencing where the power is coming from, the mind. It's mental energy then forming all these different effects but the base energy is mind based as opposed to say life force based.
I've noticed you make mistakes like these in many videos, id start assuming you don't know as much as you think you do. Don't worry though, learning is fun, that's why we're here!

Almost everything in this video is just straight up incorrect, or at least, very badly misinterpreted. It almost feels like you didn't actually watch the show with how much there was wrong.
Some bullet points for the major issues I had:
1 - Not all powers are Telekinetic (or Psychokinetic, as you say in the video). the Shiratori twins and Takenaka are only telepathic, and Rei is only Clairvoyant. Neither of those abilities are at all Psychokinetic.
2 - You have to be born as an Esper, or at least with the potential to be one. Literally one of the major things talked about is that the reason all these Artificial Esper research has failed is because it doesn't matter how much stress, pain, or trauma you inflict on a person; if they aren't born with the potential, their not going to awaken to psychic powers.
3 - Espers don't start out with the same general abilities as every Esper, and then develop more unique abilities to the person's personality as they grow older. They are just born with those specific types of abilities. In fact, there are multiple times in the show where people go "Oh, so they are that type of Esper". Like when Toichiro determined that Mob was an threat to him, because he saw that Mob had the same type of abilities as him (the ability to share and take psychic energy from others). Similarly, Minegishi comments that Fukuda (one of Sho's allies) is a rare healing type Esper.
4 - All Espers derive their powers from emotions. That's why stress and trauma are one of the ways people with the potential can awaken, because their powers are brought forth through their emotions. It's not just a Mob exclusive thing. During the Mogami Arc, Mogami himself even says that psychic powers are fueled by emotions, and some emotions are stronger than others.
5 - You got the flashback wrong; Mob didn't freak out because Ritsu was being hurt by bullies and lose control of his powers, he got knocked unconscious by the bullies while trying to help his brother, and his powers decided to take the wheel and attack the bullies, implied to be the first time he went into ???%
6 - Mob's powers aren't limited to the percentage. The reason their stronger at 100% is because he's not holding them back anymore due to his emotions overwhelming him. He's fully capable of doing everything he can at 100% at 3%, but he doesn't because he's scared about hurting someone or losing control.
7 - As an extension to the last point: Mob's percentage doesn't reset when he switches to a different emotion. That percentage counter can go up from both him being embarrassed from something and from him being stressed from a bad day. Him being angry and then feeling love the next day doesn't reset the counter, literally don't know where you got that from. The percentage is a representation of how emotional he is, and how close he is to having an emotional eruption.
8 - ??? is not a split personality, it's a metaphorical representation of him repressing a part of himself. Yes, it takes over when he goes unconscious and acts on it's own will, but it's still Mob, just a part of him he tries to keep locked away.
9 - Don't know why you keep using Dimple as an example for how Esper powers work considering he's not an Esper, he's an evil spirt. Evil spirits work on completely different rules than Esper's do.
10 - No, people worshipping an Esper doesn't make the Esper's powers stronger. You used Toichiro as an example, but he didn't gain power from being worshipped. His strength came from a combination of storing up power for 20 years, and his specific psychic abilities that allows him to take or give energy to others, not to mention he was already a really powerful Esper. The 'getting stronger through worship' thing is an Evil Spirit thing, not an Esper thing.
These were just the one's I knew 100% were incorrect. I had other points, but ultimately, I realized that most of those points could be left up to interpretation (at least partially), so I stuck to the ones I knew I could argue. I don't mean to direct any hate towards the creator, just wanted to clear stuff up for people who see this video in the future.

Perhaps accepting the powers as part of yourself or rejecting the powers is what gives you that emotional boost.
Ummm only mob that has that limitless emotional boost in anime history actually only few character has it like hulk or Asia wrath that’s all
They say Mob and OPM are not apart of the same universe but I feel like that’s a lie so people don’t figure it out my theory is that Mob is Saitamas ancestor since OPM takes place far in the future and with mob being arguably the strongest character in the show this would explain why Saitama was able to awaken he’s godly level powers so easily

A few things I disagree with concerning Mob and his % gauge.
First is that the % gauge doesn't seem to directly corollate with how much power he can use. As you say yourself 0% Mob still is powerful, but if the percentage directly correlated with how much of his power he could use, then 0% Mob should be utterly powerless. Likewise 99% and 100% should be near identical if your rule were in effect, but what we see is that 100% is leagues stronger than any other %.
The other being that -at least as it appears to me- the percentage shown isn't correlating to any specific emotion until it hits 100. Until then it's more of a way of measuring just how close he is to his emotions breaking out. We see it drop sometimes not because one emotion was lessened, but because Mob went through something that took away his stress or anxiety, when Mob is relaxed he has better control of his emotions, and the greater the stress the more likely they'll bubble to the surface.
This I think is clear enough when you look through the first 100% break into rage during the fight against Dimple. Through episodes 1-3 Mob's % rises, but is it because he's feeling rage each time it does? No it's just various moments of stress and uncomfortable situations. It keeps rising until Dimple keeps pushing Mob, and because of these other events of stress earlier Mob's tolerance isn't as high, so it's easier for his rage to break out.

The thing about the number deflating is incorrect mobs never goes down percentage - it goes up the more emotions he feels whether good of bad even if it's the opposite think about the fight with - the umbrella guy when he said he just wanted friends mobs percentage still went up then he shot at him and went 100% (couple episodes before boss battle season 2) , and the fight with dimple he expelled all his power into the air and drained himself the percentage never went down he was out of energy - effectively all energy left into the air also Bare in mind at the same time his energy was getting drained at the same time by the broccoli

This story is so special for me, I'm glad they actually finished it in a relative short time. It's great having been able to watch it completely and having that closure. That said, this looks like an overall cool explanation of it's power system, it's nice to watch content on one of the best stories I've ever known! 😁
