I own a VB WRX & had its 15000km/1 year service a couple days ago & the Subaru service centre did an upper engine clean & they used 0W20 oil. The owner’s manual advises 5W30. I was surprised they did the clean so early in the cars life. Maybe it’s coz of the direct injection. Good to see an Aussie channel. I sub’d. 👍
Solid video once again man! Super thorough explanations make the whole process seem like a breeze. Definitely will have to give some of that upper engine cleaner a go as well when I get round to servicing my car next
Word of advice mate. Check your oil when its off jack stands. But am definitely enjoying your content. Not to many AUSSIE TH-camrs around doing suby vids worth watching. Ive subd to your channel. I see your in Qld so am i 👍👍 if you ever need advice tips etc on your rexy hit me up. I’ve been a Subaru mechanic for years 👍👍
Hi mate. Great video. Just wanted to check are you sure about using bov vacuum lines for upper cylinder cleaning? I thought that would head straight to turbo and not for upper cylinder??
Good question. From my experience I've done this maybe 5-6 times and never had any check engine lights on. I would assume though even if you did that it would go away once you have finished the process.
Doesn't sound like brake dust. Do you keep your car outside all the time? Once the rust starts its almost impossible to stop it but I would begin with washing the car every weekend or 2 weeks and also applying some sort of ceramic coating to prolong the life of the paint
@@00Lach idk tbh but they’re not really visible, I only notice when I clean my car (every 3-4 days). I unfortunately don’t have a garage :( one day tho! Thank you for answering (:
@@emiliegervais1143 I think have a look at my ceramic coating video I've done in my BRZ and do something like that! It will give your paint a lot more protection whilst being outside. And then to maintain it I would be washing the car ever couple of weeks at least 😎

Those wheels look sick on your hatch. 👍

You can get them in auto shops! Pretty cheap

Appreciate your support mate! 😎

The line I used goes straight into the engine and not the turbo
Is there any risk of getting a check engine light with that cleaner and not having the hose connected while running it?

Hi you! Do you have any tips on maintenant white paint? I’ve got tiny rust spots all over and I think it’s cuz of the brake dust

Hey man what exhaust do you
Where you get the red Subaru badges from?
@@2WavyTV it's just a vinyl overlay. Pretty sure these were from some random eBay site at the time.
hey mate, where did you get the aftermarket headlight from? thanks
CT Autoparts
Where can I find upper engine cleaner in US?
I would assume a Subaru dealership?
is it normal when you press the clutch that it makes a noise?
Could be clutch fork assembly losing its grease. Ive had to grease mine up once before.
Mine makes that noise until you press down the clutch, mechanic said it needs grease
Don’t think that is an sti filter. Part number comes up as for standard Subaru models
Yeah should be standard for an EJ257 as it takes more oil than the EJ255
@@00Lach google the part number def not sti filter. That filter you’re using is for standard Impreza etc
