We will miss you James Earl Jones. You were a legend and icon and impacted all of us with your work.
Just heard the sad news. See you on the other side Grandpa James!
Just heard of James Earl Jones passing. Such a wonderful actor! Nice to have these little reminders of how good he was.
You will never be forgotten James. Our children and our grandchildren will have memories of your voice.
Gone but never forgotten. Forever is preserved in film history.
WELL SAID!
RIP Mr. Jones! Thank you for all your incredible work. Bravo sir! Bravo!
Never can make it through this gem of a movie without breaking down. After hearing of James Earl Jones passing I had to come here to listen to this monumental speech....and writing this with a tear or two running down my cheek. Thank you sir for gracing us with your talent!
This is one of those movies with so many moments that bring tears to your eyes. Pure magic, thank you James Earl Jones, Burt Lancaster and all the other greats in this movie. Thank you....
This scene hits different now. 😭
R.I.P. James Earl Jones
(January 17, 1931 - September 9, 2024)
May God rest his soul in heaven amen
RIP, James. What a performance
I've watched that scene maybe a couple dozen times and it still gives me chills. Truly one of the greatest scenes in cinema history.
Same here
RIP James Earl Jones. You were a beloved actor. But more importantly a beloved human being.
9/9/24 RIP great actor, icon James Earl Jones. Thank you.
Had to come here after hearing the news about James Earl Jones passing. One of the great speeches in cinema history by one of the greatest American icons in history! RIP James Earl Jones
Cried just watching this clip, beautiful movie, viewed lots, love
Footfire, James Earl Ray has died today, September 9, 2024, at age 93. He was one of America's finest actors. Love ya, sir.
James Earl Ray was the guy who killed Mlk
Thank god this film was made. Absolute all time classic!
I knew I would come here again to watch this movie. And I knew I would want to watch this movie when one of the actors had passed away. And now, Here I am again. And I'm sad to say I was right. Rest in Peace, James Earl Jones.
I've been meaning to watch it this week before i read the sad news. I finally made my commitment last night. And could not be timely with baseball season almost over.
I normally am NOT a big celebrity caring guy, but James Earl Jones will ALWAYS be a favorite. GREAT voice & character actor!! RIP, sir, and thank you for making entertainment worth watching.
Now that James has passed...people will come. They'll come to this video. People will most definitely come!
R.I.P. to one of the greatest actors to ever live. My goodness, so many incredibly executed performances. So many memorable roles. Mr. Jones is one of the greatest of all-time.
One of the best movies ever made
Totally agree--and the woman main actor --was --GREAT on "STREETS on FIRE""-too--this movie has SPIRIT AND MAGIC--just try-tue rollf
Rest in peace, James Earl Jones! Absolute legend!
There are only a few films I would watch over and over again. This is one of them.
I've seen it 3 times now. I first discovered Field Of Dreams ten years ago i believe
Watching Hollywood legends James Earl Jones and Burt Lancaster and crying my eyes out. RIP.
Watched this movie at least 50 times the whole way thru. I believe Field of Dreams and the Natural were hands down the 2 best fantasy/sports movies ever made. Great actors and stories that played into our own dreams as kids.
I watched it once and was hardly moved... sorry, it was incredibly cheesy, as were many 80's movies. I love baseball, and the performances themselves were on point, but the premise was so... dumb.
Bunch of people on acid trips.
thank you James Earl Jones. my mom loved this movie and shared it with me when i was really young. its a great memory of her.
Love the ending, but my favorite part of the movie is when they pick up the young Moonlight Graham along the side of the road. That gives me chills.
Today we lost a legend, Rest in peace James Earl Jones
Incredible voice
James Earl Jones could read the symptoms from a medication and it would bring some kind of emotions forward.
facts. if he narrated my life, he'd be inspiration for me to do more. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Luke!... I am your father!
Even as a german without connection to baseball I love this Film so much😔
Same as a Brit!
I'm an Aussie, and I love this movie because it's not just about baseball ⚾, but a movie about loss fathers and sons and finding peace.
I built a Wiffle ball field in my back property, because of this movie. I laid out there with my wife last night under our lights, and listened to the 'Field of dreams' theme. Thank you James for being a large part of the favorite movie of my childhood.
The amazing thing is that baseball diamond is still there and 35 years later people are still visiting!!
The monologue given by James Earl Jones is one of the top 5 all time in cinema history
I put this #2 behind Robert Shaw's Indianapolis story in JAWS. If we're making a list, for me #3 would be William Wallace's "But they can't take our freedom" speech from Braveheart, Rocky's talk with his son in Rocky Balboa, and Col. Kurtz's "I love the smell of napalm in the morning" speech from Apocalypse Now.
@@Rockhound6165don't remember or care re Jaws. But PATTON. George C. Scott. Especially with the memory of those Roman trumpets.
Wow to see Burt Lancaster was unbelievable, what a great movie
I love the part about how memories will come flooding back.
I do love the magic and timing of not having a green screen of Timothy Busfield walking in mid pitch and trusting not to get plunked even though Mark did deserve it until he opened his eyes.
RIP James Earl Jones and thanks for everything. Hope you can see and enjoy all the next games to come in the hereafter. Peace my good man. You were good 😢🫡
RIP Ray Liotta
(Shoeless Joe Jackson)
1954-2022😭🙏
A fantastic actor!
And now james earl jones
This is one of those near-perfect movies that will run wild on your emotions and leave you drained but VERY satisfied by the movie's end. Just a wonderful film, exceptionally written and directed, and with an awesome cast.
The memories will be so thick they'll have to brush them away from their faces.
I rank this soliloquy right there with Quint retelling the fate of the USS Indianapolis in JAWS. Of course I could listen to James Earl Jones reading the phone book but this scene is still fantastic.
Amazing movie speech by a great actor, James Earl Jones. The set of pipes that he has, and the "way" he talks... amazing.
Went to the field this last Sunday to visit, very special to see the place in person
Where is this place to visit?
Happy 35th anniversary, _Field of Dreams._
Rest in Peace, James Earl Jones.
And the people did come! We drove out from NY in '07, and it was exactly how I always pictured it as a kid. Magical. I read the book years ago, but my opinion of it was definitely clouded by my love of this film.
The movie didn't win any awards in Hollywood, even though it was the greatest sports movie ever made. In the hearts of America it will always be special. I think about my father every time I watch the movie. He died at 63, and I'm 75 now.
So do I sir
Not only a magical wonderful movie, but the music goes with it so perfectly! As a musician I always notice the music 😅
I think Hoosiers is the best sports film ever made, but Field of Dreams is so special, I view it honestly as more of a heartwarming drama than anything else. It's about 2nd chances and regrets and things unsaid between fathers and sons. Yet, there's enough baseball in the film where you could still call it a sports film I guess.
The best baseball movie ever is 42!
Who's says there's no Romanticism in Baseball ❤❤❤❤
If this movie doesn't choke you up, you're just broken.
Moonlight caring for the daughter was one of the most heroic cinematic moments on film. Bur Lancaster is a legend, minutes on the scene, acts like a main actor.
This speech and the Indianapolis speech from Jaws are the greatest speeches in film history.
They just cant make them like this anymore, such a special film
It's tougher than ever these days to find good movies. As much as i enjoy big budget spectacle, we all need a little slice of life story once in a while.
One of the best movies ever, glad I got to grow up in the 80's
This is one of my favorite movies . 🎬 I've watched it many, many times. Thank you💗🙏✨️
James earl jones is in his 90s and is still alive. He is a legendary actor.
I came here to pay my respects to him!
Never gets old.
It's Peace they Lack.
But Baseball has marked the time.
Thank you whoever wrote that line! Ha!
Ol' Joe in the background getting ready...❤
Not like but lack.
@@bgold2007 whoops. You right
RIP James Earl Jones. You were a legendary voice in my childhood. Thank you Sir.❤
People are still coming to this baseball field 35 years later.
James Earl Jones passed today.
Tim busfield was a starting pitcher for a college team in Sacramento when they filmed little big league in 1994.
RIP James Earl Jones. One of the best. 💔
Rip peace kind Sir. Thank you for all the wonderful memories. We’ll see ya soon.
"Moonlight" Graham is the greatest hero in all of sports.
This film is really special.
Legend.
This is my favorite movie of all time especially with ray liotta in it he is so handsome and very talented
1989 - Kevin Costner and Ray Liotta costar in one of the best pictures of the year.
1990 - Kevin Costner and Ray Liotta each narrate one of the two best pictures of the year.
Goosebumps every time. It hits you on so many levels.
I have watched this clip so many times I keep thinking that I'll wear out this wonderful scene. When I think of summer, it includes fresh mowed grass, pool water, and leather baseball gloves. As for sound, it's THIS film.
Always reminds me of growing up I’m 70 grew up near Yankee stadium my friends and I went to so many games we knew all the ticket guys. After a while they just let us in the Yankees were horrible then but we went anyway saw the end of the great Mickey Mantle. Baseball was a way of life then we lived it breathed it, we played it that is the America I remember and cherished. Over the years they have ruined the game, if correctly played time stood still and the game was over when it was over. Our society has no time to breathe any more no time to just sit and enjoy the game, the American game. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
My father passed when I was 37, hadn't had a catch since I was 17. Everyday, I dreamed for one more catch.
My Favorite Movie!!!! ❤️
"For it is money they have and peace they lack..."
RIP James, thanks for being a part of so manys childhood
This is the best film ever!😊😀💙💙💙💙💙💙💙👍. And I got it on DVD!😀⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍
What a great movie. 😏
No son thank you gets me every time
Beautiful Movie
Rip you touched us with your performance and your voice
Until last night, the last time i saw this oldie but a goodie flick it was during the summer lockdowns in 2020. And JEJ gave the speech that was timelier then and maybe timely now. And here i am paying my respect to this legend. And like most of my fellow late 20's/early 30 year olds, the first glimpse i had of his talent was as Mufasa.
Love this movie so so so much
So many wonderful actors. ❤Burt Lancaster is one of my favorite
RIP James Earl Jones It was good to see the field this summer
Thank you Mr. Jones for playing in so many movies that I’ve watched growing up RIP
Keep playing baseball in heaven james. Rip.
GREAT MOVIE ‼️I watched this just out curiousity and actually really enjoyed it. Their loyalty to each other touches my heart ❤
Hey, rookie! You were good.
My most favorite sports movie! ❤
Time for your walk in the cornfield James Earl Jones. Your acting and voice will live on. Hope you find your Field of Dreams and tell Ray Liotta everybody sends their love.
This was one hell of a movie 👍
It's a very beautiful and great movie worth watching
One of my favorite movie speeches
This movie is one of my favorite baseball movies.
I like them all and
Yeah, there are others like
Angels in the Outfield
Trouble with the Curve
A League of their own
And of course Abbott & Costello funny comedy skit with "Who's on First"
The Babe (Babe Ruth)
Number 42 (Jackie Robinson)
And so many others
Gonna miss him
Kinsella wrote the story. Canadian. There was another story he wrote about a the longest baseball game ever. Brilliant.
What this movie represents rings more true now then when the film was released. I am 70 years young. As post-war, so-called boomers, we remember what a great country we lived in and how life for us and our parents was so much easier. As a child, we remember how great pro sports was back then. The players played for the game. They weren't a bunch of pampered prima donnas with big mouths. They didn't whine and cry about everything and everybody. They didn't tell us who to vote for. And they sure as hell didn't kneel for the National Anthem!! We played the game same as the pros. Every decent day we went outside, gather up our meager equipment and headed for our favorite field. We didn't need coaches and egotistical parents. We just made up teams and played the game. There was never an empty baseball diamond anywhere. Yes, we did play organized sports. it was fun and educational and prepared us for adulthood. We enjoyed our childhood. Our parents weren't preoccupied with cell phones and all that. Dad went to work and Mom stayed home and took care of the house and kids. We would sit down and eat at the table together. Sunday was a family day. TV was watchable by all in the family. We were taught right from wrong. We had respect for grownups. I would give anything to return to those days. I sincerely believe that the Viet Nam war was the beginning of the end for this country as it seems after that mistake, we as a country very quickly went to hell. I love this movie and as others have said in the comments, this movie brings tears to our eyes, as we remember what it was like to love family and country. We remember what it was like when people were not divided as they are now.
Sorry for the long-winded post but this movie brings back so many memories of when life wasn't a daily struggle. That speech by James Earl rips our hearts out, remembering the good ole days...
I’ll even go a little further back. The day JFK was assassinated in Dallas, that’s the day that all Americans lost their innocence and truly lost their way 😢
Rest in peace. Thank you.
RIP James Earl Jones
To truly experience the field of dreams is breath taking and an honor its real ❤
R.I.P James Earl Jones
