I’ve literally had this issue and spent £14 on a new fan relay on Amazon replaced it in 5 minutes and it’s fixed!!! Car repair light came on before and now it’s gone!!!!
@@מנחםזגורי-ש5ג the fan won't necessarily come on until a few different sensor inputs trigger the algorithm. So it's hard to say. My fan didn't come on until the car was hot, but I think the fan relay also ties in to the compressor too (through the engine management), which won't get switched on if that relay has an open circuit. At least for me what I noticed inside the cabin was that before replacing this fan relay, when I turned the air con on you'd hear no click from under the hood indicating the air con relay had engaged. So the compressor wasn't running. After wards it started coming on again. I think, not 100% sure, that the fan is triggered also by the coolant temp sensor (which also triggers the water pump) not only by the fan relay. So whether the fan is running or not may not be a reliable indicator. If the coolant is hot it may come on high regardless of the fan relay.
I've had this same fault before on another 1.2 and changed the fan resistor module which solved it. However on this car, the cooling fan is still not coming on. I've put direct power on to the fan which comes on. I've checked the loom connector and there's power there. The engine light has gone off, when I rescan the fault is still on ecu but won't clear. Coolant light came on so I stopped & the tank had coolant. When I opened it, it was like a jacuzzi 🤯. Any tips & help would be appreciated thanks.
Bit of worry as if there is gas bubbling through the coolant it would indicate a head gasket leak. That could potentially trigger that code too, maybe others.
Check the fan fuses first. Other than that maybe the fan, or a short somewhere. If the fuse is blown and it blows again as soon as you replace it, then perhaps a short? Does the fan work at all?
@techlifebio I can only find a fan relay, r6, nothing in the Haynes manual about fan fuses. I've no idea if it works at all, I don't have the kit to test or activate it
@@Enigmatic_Music1 temporarily use another relay of the same spec from somewhere else not crucial to the running of the car for example. Or just buy a replacement to test with it won't cost much.
Hello, Was the speed low or high and refused to turn off even after when the engine was switched off? Is that the same reason why you replaced the Relay?
Speed was high when ever the engine was running, no low or off. And turned off as soon as the engine was off. Now that I've replaced it, it's back to running the fan as necessary including after the engine is turned off for a short period. So it seems to be working properly now.
@@hundeyinoluwatosin3511 possibly but this could also be a thermostat issue. I had my thermostat replaced because my temperature took a long time to get up to operating temp, this usually means the thermostat is stuck open. Replacing it fixed that. However replacing the relay further improved that. It didn't really change operating temperature once warmed up though. I'm in a warm climate though so it's pretty much gonna be full fan most of the time, only being on a lower speed to warm up the engine quicker.
anybody know where the relay is for the indicators and hazards on an 06 CITROËN Relay II Minibus (250) 2.2L Diesel 101 HP and also what it looks like im totally lost
Modern vehicles like this don't usually have flasher relays, it's all computer controlled. The tick sound the indicators make actually comes from your sound system or dedicated speaker, not from a relay under the dash.

Excelente, gracias por enseñarnos, Saludos
Glad to help, saludos!
Replacing this seems to have also fixed my air con - the compressor wasn't coming on when I turned on air con previously. Now it is.
Hi I have an issue with my AC now. No gas leak but AC fan dont go fast when AC is on. u think its the problem?
@@מנחםזגורי-ש5ג I doubt it's related in that case. Do you mean the fan inside the cabin or the fan under the bonnet in front of the radiator?
@@techlifebio The fan linked to the external radiator (The one in the video).
@@techlifebio In your case, is the fan was not coming at all or worked on one speed?

I've got codes p0691 and p0693, I've changed the relay and still the codes persist, what do i check next? The fan itself?

Did the fan run at all ?
It would just come on at a set speed, not turn off or on as needed.

@@craigiebrae no problem. Seems to be the way they are going now
So wheels the relay ? That's not a relay
It is a relay. The temperature causes the relay contacts to close thus turning the fan on.
