I absolutely loved this. Played the hell out of it. I had a top score of 80odd thousand, which is about 200 loops of all the waves. I was convinced it was a world best lol. I was about 9 at the time. All downhill since then lol :D This, and Omega Race were top quality.
The ZX81 and Vic-20 came out in 1981, then the Spectrum and C64 came out in 82, so the Vic was impressive at the time. It beat the Spectrum on several things, like the keyboard, disk drives, printers, sound, and sometimes graphics (depending on the game). The main problem was the lack of built-in RAM, and screen resolution.
I used to have this on the VIC. Probably one of the best games for that system. Pure arcade style twitch gaming that still holds up well today.
This game, as a child, drove me insane!

i must have gone through about 3 joysticks playing this game lol damn hard game!
I remember my friend had a Spectrum. He used to jokingly make fun of me and my Vic 20. One day he came round and played this....He was impressed!

Much more playable than the C64 version. Had both back in the day.
Great game..But for unexpanded Vic, Minter shooters were the top drawer.
