That’s precisely what we had to do in Kuching, East Malaysia. And not just the hospital, but the hearing doctor, the dentist… And we had one burning question on our minds the whole time - is health care good in Southeast Asia? Will it meet our standards?

I had stay in Australia for 5 years and i can say that Malaysia have the best hospitals and health care system.
Compared to the States the cost is night and day! And the service is definitely on par with the top-of-the-line hospitals back in the US.
Malaysia actually offered some of the best hospitality and most advance healthcare system in the world

We have yet to ride through Singapore, but we have heard it can be a pretty expensive country. But we will find out first hand! I hope we won’t need any medical attention!

Malaysia is actually among the top medical tourism destination in the world due to shorter queue, affordability, some good doctors & good facility.

I highly recommend you to go to Johor Bahru government hospital, especially HSA (Hospital Sultanah Aminah).
Let me know how many minutes you have to wait for a doctor or M.O, to attend to you.

You mentioning "some good doctors" is a telltale sign. We want good doctors and not some good doctors.
As for good facility, again, try going to HSA in Johor Bahru. Chairs that are missing, you know... chairs.
I've never went to private hospitals in Malaysia. But I've went to some private clinics in Malaysia, especially, Johor.
The private clinics are generally OK though.

We found the services here to be awesome, quick, and cheap in comparison to the States. We didn't go to the small village hospitals, but the main top-of-the-line hospitals.

Spiciness In malaysia can be adjusted according to customer request. You just need to tell in advance.. Such as "less spicy pls" .. Or "kurang pedas" in malay also

All university in Malaysia, the medical and dental faculty are taught 100% in English. Therefore, all doctors here are well versed in English. Not only doctors do understand English well so do mostly Malaysian as well. Any tourist especially from Europe will have no or less problem in communications.

What they had was *_laksa sarawak,_* I think it is also the same type featured by anthony bourdain, because in malaysia we have a few different types of laksa depending on the locality. Tim and marissa were in the state of sarawak in east malaysia on the borneo island, hence they had laksa sarawak.
Over in peninsular malaysia, there are *_laksa utara_* or *_laksa penang_* (utara means north, and penang island is one of the most popular destinations in malaysia up north not too far from the border with thailand), and *_laksa johor,_* johor being the southernmost state bordering with singapore

No halal certificate there...and there is another one, n that one is non-halal as ig is stated in their grab/foodpanda page....Or do u mean, dayang sarawak?but that is in a relatively new shophouse building. I have also tried dapur sarawak (near tawakal hosp) which i know is muslim owned n kedai kamek (SUNWAY PUTRA MALL)

Revelation for you: Indonesians go to Malaysia to get treatment. Those in Java island, go to JB, Malacca, KL or Penang. Those in Kalimantan go to Kuching. Famous artist, businessman, laymen, as long as they can afford it they usually go to Malaysia. And Malaysian hospital is more affordable to them even after considering the flight and accomodation costs. People in Kalimantan, many even take long bus trips just to get to Malaysian clinics.

If your wrist is unsolved , I suggest you come to KL , where the best hospital for that is KPJ hospital at Damansara . This is the best hospital , where all professional athletes go there to cure their severe injuries .

most countries in asia is just the same in the US in terms of advancements... the only difference is probably is you have lotsa of options that doesnt cost an arm and a leg... to the locals it would still be expensive but for foreigners is cheaper than what you pay in the US... also most asian countries don't really charge you if you call an ambulance... in my country Philippines its free as long as there is an available... because its free it's always not available... because a lot of people are using it... and we have free healthcare its just always full... :)

I have found that wearing earplugs while riding a motorcycle is very important, the earplugs tend to pack earwax into the ear canal. I have found getting my ears flushed out at the end of the riding season beneficial…
