  • In this video Dog Rehabilitation - Saved from the euthanasia list to training with Americas canine educator Thomas travel to Virginia to help a dog on the euthanasia list get off that list and living a more balanced life. This dog was an hour from being euthanized before being saved by this family and now Thomas goes to work giving another dog a happy and balanced life. The dog could not be taken outside without dragging the owners in the pursuit of squirrels or other dogs. Thomas helps these dog owners understand how to build a foundation for training by developing a balanced relationship with some basic training techniques inside the house. This is done so that the dog understands what is expected of her without the distractions of being outside. This is episode #2 of the series, understanding your dogs behavior is a must if you are going to train your dog successfully. In the same way that you cannot expect your dog to automatically understand English. In cases where behavior issues already exist owners must be much more diligent and persistent with dog training techniques that build a balanced relationship as a foundation for training.

Brilliant tips, my dogs are so much more checked in with me as a result of watching and practising your heel, break. Still working on their sit as I taught them the wrong way and they do indeed look at me like " what " ??? No idea unless in front of me. You make little differences everyday to thousands of people, what a gift. Thanks Tom.

Upstate Canine Academy | I’m hooked on your channel Thom and I don’t even own a dog! • But those freeze frames where a mini-you appears with a side-note or a pitch are GREAT. Most inventive thing seen on TH-cam since TH-cam can into being.
What’s the strange music playing low in the bkg on the videos shot at your HQ?

You are brilliant Tom. Training my dachshund to heal is hard. One I walk with a stick and two he’s low down to let him know there’s a treat. Thanks to you I think we are getting there. One problem I have is when people come into my home and pet him when they stop he barks until they do it again. Any ideas please as I cannot stop him. You are THE BEST trainer in my eyes xx

Is there a reason you don't heel to the right? my balanced trainer taught me to turn to the right because the leash automatically swings that way and the body automatically blocks. genuine question here. no sarcasm.

Love the videos! I was wondering how to use these while also letting my dog out on walks when in the training process? In this scenario, it seems to be 3 days of training where the 3rd day is outside, realistic training day, what do you do for day 1 and 2 of training when it's time to let them go potty out on the walk? How do I be fair to the dog? Thank you!

  • @jacquelinejohnson2286

Hi, can I ask are dogs the same as us, some are good at some subjects whilst bad on others and that's why some areas are either good or bad? or have I still to achieve a deeper understanding with going over basics? Am I trying to run before I can walk? Thank you for your dedication.

That’s because she’s making $ on “pure positive,” I saw her tell ppl with a dog that was biting ppl to “distract him with a snuffle mat.” Word for word. Bet that dog was euthanized. Victoria Stillwell is a complete waste, and a disaster for dogs.@@balbirchauhan1152

I'd love to know what to do with my dog. I cannot afford an ecollor, if I could even afford one. My dog listens to me, except when it's time to go home from the dog park... She'll leave another dog alone when I say so, she'll come into my general direction, but she won't come close enough when it's time to go.
She goes out at least 5 times a day, 3 or 4 walks and one or two dog parks. We are there at least 20 minutes, running and playing with her ball. food won't work. Her ball sometimes works. Won't work if she has it in her mouth (second ball won't work in that instance either).
    Any tips?
