Ken Dobson 2.58 is correct!!!! 3.10 “grease scene” has been add to video edit in a different day and I used a display piston I had around in the workshop, which had spacers in wrong position! by the way, I am proud of people like you who cam catch these details!! well done bru
Which oil do you use for the lower leg service, if you want to include that when adjusting travel? Do you have any preffered oil and how much? on each leg @rulezman suspesnion? BG
Advice please. Can one use a normal cassette removal tool or does it need to have a slot in the side? I have seen a photo of the Manitou tool and it has a slot but in your video it looked like a normal cassette tool. Thanks for the video, nicely done.
question. the spacers are shown to be installed up against the seal head, then at 3.09 the spacers are shown in a different location. What way should the spacers be placed?
Do you have a video that shows how to get into the damper and adjust the shim stack for both compression and rebound? I have a MY21 Mezzer Pro but might need to retune it as its for an 80lb kid (who rides super hard).
Hi Dave, we changed the travel to my Mezzer Pro but I need to overcome the initial stiction of the inner legs when going for a ride...I assume it is due to the fact we did not use the torque wrench for the piston at 3 Nm...so the threads may have extended the shaft a little as you mention in the video...is that the issue or could it be anything else? Thanks Tomas :)
@@RULEZMANSUSPENSION yeah sure, to be honest I did not ride the fork before the travel change so we can only guess...we will check it again, maybe relube the air piston seal better...after the initial stiction the fork works great...but there is still too much snow here in the north of Slovakia for proper setup and testing :)
What in the world? Please explain time 3:09 - spacers went below the top bumper 3:22- spacers went above it again. ( in reverse) This is vital info mr. mechanic
Hi Mr RulezMan.., does changing the semi bath oil with he Mezzer, is the same procedure in this Video? Hope you Dont mind sharing some tips off changing semi bath oil on the lower legs, how many cc of oil shud i insert as im a light rider of 60kg. Thank you 😊
When I pulled the lower legs on my new Mezzer yesterday there was oil pooled in the air spring side lower leg but not in the damper side. However, the damper side lower leg did have a coating of oil on the inside of it and the wipers had oil on them. Is this an issue? Do I need more oil or could the damper be holding oil? Thanks
@@RULEZMANSUSPENSION I have a shock pump :) But I mean for the deflation, you kept a tube attached. Is that necessary or can I just deflate and then do the rest? Considering this fork for my next build!

Hi, as I have seen that your rider rides similar stuff and style like me, is one of you around my weight 88 kilo and what setup do you use? Just to have an idea. Man it looks like you could vastly increase the negative chamber volume by just using a tube instead of the spacers 🤔 even more than you could in the Mattoc, since the spacers are full, not hollow here. Don't know how useful it would be though, what with IRT being standard.
Piotr Sulej yeah, this is something we ( me and engeneers ) tried already, but there is no point of doing it because the fork has 37mm legs , and the negative volume is massive!! other brands extend the air inside the shafts or above piston because there is no room in the leg. the air chamber is extremely wel balanced, mezzer has the best/most “coil like” air system in the market so far...
@@RULEZMANSUSPENSION thanks for reply, in the Mattoc I definitely felt an improvement by ditching the spacers @140mm (higher pressure for same sag, more compliance and support) but here the 3mm larger diameter surely makes a big difference, good to know, the Mezzer looks like a great choice for when I'll build an Enduro bike :)

Hmm, I just changed travel before finding your video and I did not put the spacers over the washer :-( thus the washer is still directly underneath the air piston. Will there occcure any problem/damage and doI have to open it up again to correct that now?
Paul.P. Smellthetruth the function of the silver washer is to create a solid flat clean surface for the bottom up bumper. if you leave the washer against the piston and insert spacers, you will place the bottom up bumper against a non-even ( properly flat) surface, which is the two pack travel spacers surface, this could theoretically warn out the rubber of the bumper prematurely.
@@RULEZMANSUSPENSION nothing will happen, in theory there can be issues, but not in practice, source- I'm running my Mattoc with a piece of pipe instead of spacers to lower travel (more negative volume) and it's cut a bit crooked, no issues or wear on the bumper after a year of hard riding. The bumper is there just for setting too out when disconnecting the pump really, most of the force is taken by the air pressure.
Have a bad problem, both sides, damper rod and air rod (even with air pressure) spin when I put the nut on. Thus I can't fully apply the 4 lbs. Now the air cap is so tight, and I really did spin it on gently, that the nut wants to come loose, along with the aircap.... But as the threads are different, the air caps is finer, the two blog each other and I cannot pull off the aircap anymore
Paul.P. Smellthetruth when you insert and tight the nuts, you have to hold the shaft with 8mm allen key ( rebound shaft) and with 8mm open wrench (air side )

From my experience with Manitou Mattoc, comparing back to back with a Debonair Pike, at low speed the RS does have a bit less friction, so it is more comfortable, but at high speed and when hits get bigger, there is no comparison- the Mattoc just tracks much better, I'd compare the feeling to running nice low tire pressure and a but too high tire pressure, the other one just skips the ground, giving less traction, there is a bit more feedback, but I actually like that, for each their own. The Manitou damper is vastly superior for sure.

as a pure techology theory, yes the threaded seal head should not be over tighten , but I’d more look for problems elsewhere, perhaps tight bushings.
