I like my camp chairs to have a solid arm rests and a flat/straight seat edge. I currently use the GSI Eazy chair but its all but easy to fold/unfold. I might get this.
Outstanding review! At $300 I wouldn't allow myself to even consider purchasing this chair. But after watching your review I can understand... kinda. They've engineered the heck out of it to be sturdy with easy set-up/take down. Still, I'd have to buy 2 & ouch that hurts. 13lbs is a lttle weighty but that comes with sturdy construction. You're right 2 cup holders would be a must. Curious how large a Yeti cup it'll hold & perhaps a bottled beverage would be easier to remove? Good job. 👍
Thank you Phil. Really appreciate the feedback and thanks for checking out the video. The Hondo will hold all the Yeti cups but never have tested the Trailhead with the Yeti cups, only cold beers! JD
Thanks JW. It's not in a bad location on the Hondo but I agree on the Trailhead. I'd like one that just clipped on (heavy duty, Yeti style) that you could put where you wanted. Thanks for the comment.
I have this chair, I regret the Hondo is unavailable in Australia, I did ask Yeti about it. I can buy another can hokder, I have no problem hitting the release button on withdrawing the can. I’ve not thought of it, I should get more beer and consider it. I enjoy pulling the chair forward by gripping the front of the chair (when sitting in it) which are really rigid unlike other chairs.
observation: Can you jerry-rig the cup holder using some foam? As in maintain the shape (of a can/ cup) when stored? Presuming there's room in the bag of course. Seems to me Yeti would thought of that. So presuming you cant. Nice video as I'm considering a pair.
You can probably do that. The cup holder does come off so you can move it to either side so I'm sure that would work. The carrying bag is roomy so I think so!! JD
Great question and I never thought of that. I checked this and the beer holder on the Trail head chair will fit on the Hondo but the Hondo beer holder does not fit on the Trail head!! You could probably easily modify it to fit but it doesn't fit without modification. JD
I see you said it’s kind of narrow between the armrest for you, how bad is it? That was the only concern I’ve had with making this purchase. I bought the Hondo and love it, but I like the portability of the trailhead. Thanks
Justin, I'm publishing a video tomorrow comparing the Trailhead and the Hondo chair. I think this video will show you the differences in detail. The Trailhead is not that narrow but certainly a more narrow chair than the Hondo. Please check out the video tomorrow on my channel. I'll publish in the morning, eastern time. Thanks.
Hey Andrew, I do not have the Gobox although I have looked at it several times. Gotta spread out these Yeti purchases so not sure if I will get it in the future. I like the looks of the new Roadie....thanks for the comment.
Thank you! I'm going to do a video comparing the two shortly. Short answer is I like the Hondo better but if you have to transport it then the Trailhead! I'll explain more in the upcoming video!!
Hey Juan, it is a comfortable chair. Check out the comparison of the Hondo vs the Trailhead on my channel. I go into the comfort of each chair in more detail. JD
Hey Adrian. I did a video review of both chairs. Here's a link to it. th-cam.com/video/kA03wgHIXvo/w-d-xo.html. Thanks for checking out the video and this one should answer your questions. JD
Holding up great. I don't use it as much as I thought I would, I lean towards the Hondo more! But, with mild use, it still looks and functions like new. JD
@@sophiagautier3605 I did a video you can find on my channel comparing the two chairs and the Hondo is just a little bit larger of a chair and fits my big frame better. It’s a good comparison video of the two chairs if you want to check it out! JD
Yes Sir they are not cheap at all. So far my experiences feel like it was worth it but there's a lot of other chairs out there for sure!! Thanks for checking out the video. JD
Thanks to your review, I bought one for my wife and myself. Great purchase and built like a tank. Thanks again.
Thank you! I have continued to enjoy mine, hardly any wear and tear years later. JD

Subscribed for your Yeti reviews. Much appreciated.
Thank you Jason!
Looking forward to the Hondo comparison video! I think yeti should redesign the chairs to get the cup holders up higher on the chair near the arm.
Thanks JW. It's not in a bad location on the Hondo but I agree on the Trailhead. I'd like one that just clipped on (heavy duty, Yeti style) that you could put where you wanted. Thanks for the comment.
I have to disagree. I think the placement works well on the trailhead.
Felix Negron That’s great. I’m glad you like it where it’s located. Thanks for the feedback.
I think Yeti redesigned it for easier carrying and storage......

It's a great chair. More beer sounds like a plan!! Haha JD
Great video JD. Thanks for that. Will check out the comparison vid now.

You can get spare cup holders.
Do the beer holders use the same mounting system? Can you use the plastic one on the trailhead, or the canvas one on the Hondo?
Great question and I never thought of that. I checked this and the beer holder on the Trail head chair will fit on the Hondo but the Hondo beer holder does not fit on the Trail head!! You could probably easily modify it to fit but it doesn't fit without modification. JD

Awesome! Thank You
Could you do a 1 year review on the chair sometime?
Good idea! I can tell you it looks the same as it did when I bought it after a year of average use. JD
Love your reviews 👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much! I have another one coming out later this week comparing the Hondo chair and Trailhead chair so stay tuned! Thank you again.
@@JDOffline ow darn I already ordered my hondo lol
What is the difference in the width inside arm rest to arm rest compared to the hondo
I'm going to post another video shortly doing a side by side comparison so stay tuned to the channel!!

Could you talk about the prices too please? Thanks for everything!
on amazon you can buy $400 deck chairs that fold up and aren't as close to the strength and durability, or portability.
This is a great chair. It's pricey for sure but the quality and durability are there. JD
Good review video!
Thank you!! JD
This was a good video but you didn't mention if it is actually comfortable.

I saw the Hondo does not have the can holder on both sides Not a showstopper, I am right handed and the cup holder is a rigid design.

It’s $400 at Cabela’s in Canada. Not in this lifetime. I’m all about value but this price is ridiculous.
Wow, that's a $100 more than it should be priced. Check out Yeti.com. Thanks for checking out the video.
$300 MADE IN CHINA chair 😂 Yeti is ridiculous
It’s pricey for a chair for sure!!
Ikr? I'll pay more $$ for American made for sure.

Buy once, cry once...
That’s about right. They have held up well but it is painful to buy! JD
Hope they have a yeti lock for when you stand up to 👏 to yo kids and some ruthless person takes the chair from underneith you.
Haha yeah that would be unfortunate for sure! I haven't had an issue like that yet. Thanks for the comment. JD
