    NO THEU DONT LOL They are what they say...there a cover! Heat still escapes. If someone blames calipers covers on there braking are slow in the head haha

      Slow in the head? Your grammar shows it.
      You’re a moron if you think those covers don’t prevent heat from dissipating, in turn, reducing braking.

      @@ApexIXMR Slow in the head indeed! It seems that you might actually be the moron here.
      It's not like the covers encase the whole caliper. Caliper covers don't trap heat. Heat dissipation is no different than what it is without the covers

      Put them on your vehicle and let me bed them in with the caliper covers on.

    The plastic ones that you glue on will increase heat,but the aluminum ones act as a heat sink,and actually reduce the heat in your calipers.

      This means buy the expensive ones correct? Is MGP calipers made with aluminum?

      its so cute that yall actually think caliper covers have any function at all other than looks lol imagine thinking a thin piece of aluminum is going to make any measurable difference in your brake caliper temperature LOL if that shit were true then race cars would all have aluminum covers on their calipers. but they dont. lol you guys are just convincing yourself that there is some reason other than looks. if you dont believe me, just put a caliper cover on one side of your car and not the other, then go make a bunch of hard stops from a high speed and then measure both side calipers with an IR gun youll see that they are the same temp lol

    • @michaelwielenga8809
      @michaelwielenga8809 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      oh and heatsinks actually work because they have a ton of fins that allow heat to transfer into the air moving around them. caliper covers dont have that, so they cant act as heat sinks. even if they did, they wouldnt be nearly big enough or have nearly enough contacting surface area to actually do the job of a heatsink. you guys need to stop lying to yourselves. you just want calipers covers for looks. thats all caliper covers can possibly offer you. looks. nothing more. sorry

      @@michaelwielenga8809 damn, bit much for a year old thread. Theoretically he's right with heat distribution with the raised aluminum plates but again, it doesn't make any meaningful difference. U can't compare anything to race brakes, they r so heavily engineered with all sorts of different designs and materials that it just isn't the same

    I was going to get the Mustang caliper covers for my 2012 GT but then I saw them on a Camaro and they looked a little flimsy so I decided to pass on them. I think you can spend $200 elsewhere on the car and increase performance

    Calipers need air to cool down just like rotors that why many are drilled. More heat metal expands causing the seals, piston and boot to fail causing brake failure. If you put one of those ones Porsche, the dealer would think you where smoking something

    Two main reasons to run caliper covers. First is to cover ugly factory calipers, yes you can paint them but it's like lipstick on a pig, still ugly but now you notice the ugly design even more...good job LOL. Second is to help keep brake dust off your wheels, this is really the main benefit and one you don't get by paining the ugly stock calipers.

    In order to align the covers properly on a vehicle's caliper to meet the mounting points you can push or pull the welded arms closer to each other or away from each other as required. Each arm is welded at the front plate but the rest of the arm is free to adjust without snapping. The arms are made of aluminum so they will take a stretch, see image attached for reference, thank you!

    Can you send us a picture that shows the incorrect fitment
