Had a MKII back around 1985 - paid £60 for it and it caught fire two weeks later on a garage forecourt, I had not long done all the brakes on it too, my old mum hated it as had no licence or insurance MOT etc, she was pissed at me for weeks as she worked in the local fire station so the firemen gave her the news before me lol. Weird thing is, she now lives in a sheltered housing complex that directly looks onto the very same garage, well back in 85 it was a BP and today it's now an Esso. Lovely Job on the Rally Car, something really special about MK1's and 2's - Perfect all round rally cars, love the sound from them along with Scooby's, just perfect for me. Thank you for sharing, and I hope your mother has forgiven you... Unfortunately these vehicles are fetching a premium now that doesn't allow as many to be on the roads as there once was.
