Well butter my ass and call me a biscuit. I am shocked..
It was great. It proved, without a shadow of a doubt, what everyone thought about Captain Marvel. Now we have confirmed that Captain Marvel was only successful because it was advertised as a must-watch for Endgame, and not because anyone cared about the character. Now we can rub this in the fans’ faces.
It wasn't the best movie but it wasn't that bad either better than the last Thor movie. She also added something to the dynamic with Brie Larson which made her seem a lot more likeable I just wish there was more backstory to the villain but 3.5 out of 5 Stars
Forget the marvels. Looper showing his face is more interesting.

I'm surprised there's actual people so brain dead they're willing to defend something like the Kenobi show, but the vast majority won't hate or like, they simply won't watch when it's that bad, so even if you hear talk about something being good that you know isn't, it's usually just the honest people don't care enough to even talk about it.

In the comics I’m sure they’re different but live action movie men, men can kind of relate to them by default and can admire them but I can’t relate to any of these characters at all or their backstories, or their every day problems. Like she-hulk. Who the heck can relate to that character, or who even likes her? I tried watching but it was awful. I don’t know the appeal or who the audience even is.

Superhero fatigue
Everything has an end point and marvels time was up 3 yrs ago of were being honest, they had a good run, historic even, but once something becomes common place people get bored 🥱 Disney+ was just overkill.
I feel like Kang is falling short because the audience keep seeing him lose. When your big bad loses at the end of both a tv series and a movie it doesn’t build much hype for anything to come next from him.

I believe the reason Marvel isn't doing so well is that all the superheroes the general public know of have told their stories. Stan Lee is no longer around to help shape the movies and do a cameo for each film. The presenter was right that no one likes to do homework before seeing a film to understand it.
All their stories have been told? Really? What did you like the most about the Invaders movie? You know, the one where we got to see Cap in action during WWII. How about "Demon in a bottle," did you like that movie? Or perhaps you enjoyed the Armor Wars movie more? Personally, I really enjoyed the Planet Hulk movie the most.

This is why cinematic universes kind of went stale after a while, they either alienate new fans, or disappoint old fans.

Cinematic universes tend to follow the business plan of comics, cultivating and targetting a core audience, while it doesn't quite work that way with big budget movies, who wants a wider set of audience, with most of them.... just can't be bothered with homework, like watching Thor Ragnarok, just to understand Planet Hulk.

It factually doesn't exist. It's BAD movie fatigue. All the shows and movies they've made the last decade? If they were the quality of Phase 1 MCU, we'd all be watching them ALL though NONE of them are Phase 1 quality.
Anytime people blame an entire GENRE, you know it's actually their fault. First question if the genre is even being utilized to its fullest potential before blaming the genre. We BARELY even got any rated-r Super Hero movies like Deadpool or shows like Daredevil and those are absolutely the BEST hero content we've ever gotten.
Make that quality, we'd all go to watch, but they care about shoving ignorant politics into their garbage more than writing.

There's literally a scene in that garbage show where they unironically hide Leia under Kenobi's coat to "sneak" her out of an imperial base during a prisoner escape, and not a single person stops to question why Kenobi has a huge lump or four legs. So yes, having any sort of quality bar is being "picky."

I think it is that more people have abandoned the MCU do to the current string of bad and mediocre movies. Many former fans just don't care anymore.
The box office failure of "The Marvels" could spell the death of the MCU franchise as we know it. The audience are clearly starting to tire of MCU world. Unfortunately for the superhero universe in general, it is not as big a box office draw as it was about 3-4 decades ago. Think about recent box office duds like "Dark Phoenix (2019)", "The New Mutants (2020)", "Black Widow (2021)", and "The Flash (2023)", those films did not sit well with the critics and audience members, Those lost a fortune at the box office. The superhero film franchise is on life support and practically near death thanks to the failure of "The Marvels". If fortunate, this film might gain a cult film status through home video and Disney+.
Looper is baaaaad. We dont have superhero fatigue...we have fatigue for bad story telling, lack of character developement, moral grandstanding, and forcing ideologies...just make a good movie and leave the bs out of it. We will watch.

As a man and a fan, I wanted this movie to be so good. I wanted to support it. I always thought these critics are wrong. So I went out to watch it in 4dx. Event though my freaking chair was moving and vibrating I was yawning. I wish I'm lying. And I remember almost sleeping twice during calmer moments. I got out of the theater and already forgot the whole plot. Oh man I wanted it to be good. But I'm sorry it's really not.
Why are you sorry? They should be sorry. But see now this is what you have to realize has been the problem for over a decade. Most people are like you, but just realized it sooner. They complained with VALID criticism on movies they didn't like, but guess what? They were called sexists and racists, simply for not liking a movie. And that's what a lot of people would say about you, that the ONLY possible reason you don't like the Marvels is sexism and racism. That's the lie they've been using for a decade because it makes people scared so they're like "okay I'll pretend I like it, just don't think I'm racist or sexist okay?" But now that doesn't even work anymore, people don't care what they're called because they also realize it's a lie. So you, don't feel discouraged if people call you names for feeling that way, and also, don't think people are the racists and sexists others call them unless you know it to be true, because many people are called such just for reasonably disliking a movie.

i loved it, it was funny and didnt drag out too long. ppl seem to forget not every early phase marvel movie was a hit either. the returns have been lower, but no mcu movie has actually flopped yet, they all make their money back and then some. the revenue is always higher around the release of avengers movies. right now since 2019 this is the longest weve gone without an avengers movie.

The Marvels isn't a bad movie. I personally think it lies somewhere between 7 & 8 out of 10. I think if you enjoyed Captain Marvel or Ms. Marvel, then you'll enjoy this movie as it's better than both those projects. I also think it's better than Ant-Man 3 and Thor 4.

Cause the writers probably forgot. And if you have to create some justification in your mind for why it's okay, that's still a problem in the writing. And even good movies have those problems, so that doesn't kill the movie itself, but that's just one in a list of things wrong with the film.
@@eldenvedetta635 Well said. Wanted to enjoy this one, but the script was poorly written and the film was poorly edited and executed. Several scenes show the characters with fresh makeup and hair from just coming from a tumultuous ordeal [e.g., when the three females landed the ship in that field]. Zero threat in the weak plot and from the villain so no one was in any real danger. Nick Fury, relegated to a bland comedic sidekick, could have been omitted and it wouldn't have affected the story. Valkyrie appearing made little sense because she and Danvers didn't interact beforehand [well, it's insinuated because they were both in the final battle in Endgame; and yet, so were others, so why didn't they appear?]. A character such as Thor appearing would have made sense because he and Danvers had direct interaction at the beginning of Endgame.
Yes, consume more, sheep, more!!! We will never make a better movie because you already watch our trash! Consume!
