There are still fantastically written films and shows with strong female and male characters that will appeal to both sexes. You just have to shift through the sh!t. Unfortunately, Disney is only looking for crap stories, execrably written to wrap around female characters no one cares about. But after watching The Marvels and suffering through the IBS caused by it, I watched 1883 and it restored my faith that there ARE good stories with fantastic writing for strong female/male characters that can co-exist and that both sexes can relate to. I dare anyone to watch the first 4 minutes of Episode 1 of 1883 and not want to find out more about Elsa Dutton's story. For me, Miss Marvel, Yelena and the new Hawk Eye are the only character that I still find enjoyable in the new roster. Sadly, none of them have a movie planned where they are the main character.
I mean, i personally don't care for the first two, but Kate Bishop at least had a character arc. She trained her whole life because she idolized Hawkeye. She failed, she struggled, she wanted to impress Clint. Only thing i didn't agree with was her beating Kingpin on her own, that was imo just too much, but otherwise i can at least relate to her. Compare that to instantly perfect She-Hulk or Shuri/Riri and you know why barely anyone can relate to them.
I was actually waiting for this movie to become a surprise hit, despite everything. Well, good thing Iman Vellani was good in it at least. Her series was surprisingly enjoyable too, despite the weak villains. She just that damn likeable. I feel bad she was introduced to the MCU at this point, she deserves better honestly. I hope Disney won't take the wrong impression and boots her.
I have more fun watching these reviews than I do seeing the movies. In the middle of the movie I’ll be thinking like I can’t wait to see what TH-cam says about this part.

I do the same thing! Except I skip the part where you waste two hours of your life. TH-cam gives me everything I need to know about these terrible dumpster fires. I’m not watching a single minute until someone convinces me it’s worth my time.
I have to push back on one point. Ronin the Accuser was himself a terrible and undeveloped villain. If he were not in the otherwise great Guardians of the Galaxy, HE would be remembered as one of the worst villains of the MCU, and rightly so. He ran like a bitch in the first Captain Marvel movie, and his gender swapped replacement is worse in every way. Also, hammers in battle are primarily used as weapons against armored opponents, and while it might have scored some points on Iron Man or Ultron, no one Ronin or Darbin ever fought would have been weak against a hammer, so their weapon was just a useless prop to be destroyed.
I am so glad someone felt the same way I did while watching this movie. While I was watching it I had the words "embarrassing" and "stupid" circulating in my mind over constantly.
Was it really more 'embarrassing' than Love and Thunder or Quantumania? I hardly think so. This was actually a movie where the main character is 16, so it was supposed to be lighthearted. Somehow I feel like this movie is criticized more harshly because it centers women. Not saying it's perfect, the issues we've been seeing in the past 3 years are there too, but it's far less mortifying than some other recent Marvel projects. A good way to sport sexist reviews is to observe whether WandaVision is included in the examples of good post-Endgame projects, and as we can see here, the creator went as far as listing GotG 3 before WV as such.
I think I've been in denial over the MCU's decreasing rep for far too long. The Marvels may have just made Quantumania and Secret Invasion look like bangers to me. Deadpool 3, Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts, Blade, Daredevil: Born Again, Spider-Man 4, and Fantastic 4 all better make a thorough comeback for the MCU or else!
@@chasehedges6775 If I can go into any of those movies or shows without ever feeling ashamed of liking any of them after seeing clickbait thumbnails saying how objectively awful they are, that's cool by me.

As a wine loving, cat and single woman in her 30s I can say me and my like minded female friend who loved the mcu have no desire to see this movie. Yes I will say the cats and kittens are super cute but that’s not enough to make me watch the film (I have my own at home who is cuter). This is a bomb of a film and I say this as a cat and wine loving single female in their 30s who has never seen barbie but thinks Oppenheimer as the best film of the year.
I like cats a lot though due to circumstances I haven’t had one at home for over ten years. I’ve never wanted to be swallowed whole and intact by a cat and snuggle up somewhere inside it, though. It’s a sort of intimacy I’m just not interested in.
What’s weird is the pacing/writing for this film. It literally opens with a scene that has nothing to do with it. After that, we get a very brief recap of the first film before the plot starts. I’m not joking, literally 3 minutes in, the main plot kicks into a high gear and our 3 characters immediately meet. This is not how you do a team up! Take the Avengers, for example. The Avengers took almost an hour before our characters fully come together. It’s not that it’s boring, it’s actually really interesting because it takes it time and slowly raises tension. This movie doesn’t even develop the relationship between our leads! They just meet each other and are like “let’s get to together to do something”. This movie suffers from the runtime! This movie feels like it’s written by A.I! This just feels like a series of scenes duct taped together by a VERY thin plot. There is literally a scene where Carol is flying in space, then pops up in Kamala’s house to smile at her parents, and appears on the moon to get chased by an army of Kree. We get no context for this scene! Immediately after, the other 2 heroes show up and help Carol immediately. Reminder, this is only like 5 minutes in. The whole movie is scenes like this. A bunch of random mumbo jumbo happening on screen in the matter of seconds to get to the next mindless moment! Garbage movie! Garbage writing! I’ve found a movie worse than the Eternals, She Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Secret Invasion, and Love and Thunder combined!
I wish people wouldn't denigrate AI by comparing trash to it. AI may not write the best scripts, but it is leagues above whatever the Marvel writers are shitting out.
The fact you think Thor the dark world is the worst mcu film and not love and thunder, makes me question your rating skills. At least dark world had some stakes and action. Thor losing his mom, Loki and Thor. Love and thunder completely destroyed all of the growth Thor had shown throughout the mcu, the comedy was garbage, the acting was terrible, and they took an amazing story from the comics (which followed thor at three different times, when he was young and brash, present day, and old king Thor, while he investigated abs fought against the god butcher… ) and they went the complete opposite direction and said “how can we make Thor into a joke and ruin a great villain… love and thunder
I'm not following your logic. Aladna was briefly mentioned once in a comic and we saw nothing about the planet. Everything in the movie was new except for the name. So why does the name of a random planet from a comic years ago showing up in the Marvels mean it couldn't have been written by AI?
Disney trying to tell us that you need to watch previous movie to know what is going on and then they make a films that didn't incorporate the story of the previous movie

it is obvious to me that disney has decided to sacrifice Miss marvel to try and save Brie Larson, but it obvious didn't work and the small fun base of Miss marvel won't be enough to save this joke of a movie.
Me personally I'm just sick of the access media calling us misogynist and racist because we call a bad movie out for being a bad movie. How's marvel ever going to improve their movies if they don't address the fundamental problem with their writing and filmmaking elements? Instead, they just dismiss us as toxic fans, the same toxic fans that give them billions of dollars during the first three phases.
Agreed. Script was probably AI, but input included 'make a movie in the style of disney's marvel' and they just didn't realize that would make a list the tropes people complain about.

There’s still so much potential in superhero films and shows just look at things like invincible and the boys but marvel is too formulaic to ever delve into their limitless potential. This film sadly went exactly how I thought it would
at this point. Reboot the whole MCU. Say its a new universe. Build off X-Men, fantastic 4, and the avengers that had miles morales. Shit even make Nick Fury white again like he was before the 2000s
I can't get over how they made Tom Hiddleston's wife look so ugly. She's a beautiful woman and yet that costume is hideous. They didn't even bother to make her look Kree. Like, what is unique about Kree culture aside from blue skin? I know some kree don't have blue skin but I feel that she should have been at least given blue features
Thanos killed half of all life in the MCU and Ironman sacrifices his life to save the MCU and Captain Marvel turns around and destroys all life and the MCU and Iron Man is not going to be able to save it this time
People are not waking up and realizing that Captain Marvel has been the biggest villain since Infinity war and endgame actually since her very beginning when she copied seen for seen the Terminator by breaking a man's hands to take his keys and clothes and motorcycle just like the Terminator who was sent back in time to wipe out all of humanity. So she's living up to her Terminator status of wiping out entire worlds. At least Thanos only snapped his fingers and eliminated half of the MCU Captain Marvel has officially killed all of the MCU so she is the greatest villain of the MCU
I have to tell you - while I haven't seen this film a good number your criticisms of it apply to Loki. He is trapped in a Doctor Who movie and he is playing 'Dr. Who'. Has nothing to do with his life or character. At one point he gains power to go wherever he wants in space and time - cuz... (bullshix is why) but he doesn't save Asgard or Odin or Thor....has has *forgotten* about all of them! He saves...ALL THE ACTORS IN THE LOKI SHOW. rotfl. Of course...we know why he only cares about the characters in this show - who have nothing to do with his life or existence in Asgard. Because these are the characters the writer has to work with! But within the context of the narrative... It just makes no fking sense..

This is legit the first MCU film ive actively missed and didnt go out of my way to watch. The fact ppl were crapping on it before the trailer came out says it all😂
It has 2 cringe moments that make no sense. The singing alien race and the alien cats with “Memory” sound track was just horrible. Just a huge $270 million disappointment. How did they squander such a massive amount?
Remember, Disney owned the rights to a movie that made 250 million on a 15 million dollar budget and sold it to a Mexican food company and a Indy studio that used crowd funding to get the money to buy it. The Sound of Freedom would have been Disney's most profitable movie this year.
Interesting fact: I haven't seen the marvels but Dar-Benn is such a memorable name for me because is sounds ridiculously similar to "Poop" in Mandarin chinese😂
Ms, Marvel was ok, but the more she fan girled the more irritating she got. When she calmed down she was better. So she is a mixed bag but its better than being awful
I want to chime in and say Loki Season 2 is shockingly interesting. It is by far the best and most well-directed project Marvel has done in a long while. It is JARRING and strange that they cannot get their quality consistent across these projects.
It is not strange, it's inevitable. They have been pumping out so much content while short-changing writers and CGI artists. It would be a miracle if the quality was consistent.
I am convinced the good writers were fired to replace them with new Gen Z writers that forgot they were making a script, so they asked ChatGPT to make them one.
Man, 2023 has been a very hit or miss year for Marvel movies. Guardians 3 and Across the Spiderverse are my two favorite movies of the year but this and Quantumania are just mehhh
When you say "You don't know why things are happening" The only thing I can compare this to in my head is Rise of Skywalker. I have ZERO clue what the actual point of that movie was, just running from one forced action scene to the next. Is it really that bad?
They're so confused after Endgame. What do audiences want? They don't know. How do they provide what audiences didn't know they wanted? Clueless. What makes a good movie? Hopefully this indie director who never made blockbuster entertainment knows that. What do they wanna do with the MCU? They don't know because they didn't plan it out properly. But the brand makes money so they gotta push out content for the cinemas and Disney+ and somehow figure it out along the way, no time for breaks or the execs will be upset!
They knew one thing they wanted to do: have more diverse characters. Diversity obviously isn't a bad thing by itself but the way they did it was disastrous. Most of the characters from the first 3 phrases have been around for decades. It's well known how to write a good Iron Man or Captain America story because people have done it repeatedly. Plus those stories gave them something to adapt. None one knows how to write a memorable Captain Marvel or America Chavez story because no one has ever done it. With Phase 4 Disney in effect set off on it's own to build a Marvel Universe of it's own largely seperate from the legacy characters and badly botched it.
I don't blame anyone in the cast or the director for this, I think it's safe to say this movie had a fair amount of executive meddling and I get the sense Disney is afraid of letting their directors do the work they were hired to do, for some reason that escapes me. I hope everyone involved in this can go on to better projects where their talents will be more valued.
Definitely don't agree with "The worst'. I enjoyed it more than the first Captain Marvel and it is more entertaining than Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Captain America 1, Quantumania, Thor 4 and Thor 2. But I liked Multiverse of Madness and Eternals so maybe I'm just an alien.
No, it's a great movie. The chemistry between the 3 main actresses is great. Brie is amazing and shows of her comedic timing. Before the incels call this movie woke. There was no politics or controversial subject in the movie. It was funny with great action scenes. It was a good ole fashion super hero movie. Don't listen to the incels. This is a fun movie, go watch it and get away from the real world for awhile. 👍👍👍
This was not written by AI, current day woke writers do not know how to write, and only come up with disconnected events that "happen" with no setups or pay-offs. It has been happening for a long time, and is getting worse.

@@DarkSun123456789 She didn't really beat Kingpin, more like survived the encounter, had a lucky break.
Man it sucks to see what this franchise has become….
Soooo true. Utterly depressing
I have more fun watching these reviews than I do seeing the movies. In the middle of the movie I’ll be thinking like I can’t wait to see what TH-cam says about this part.
Faith Hill, Tim McGraw and Sam Elliot give outstanding performances with cameos by Tom Hanks and Billy Bob Thornton. But it is Isabel May as 17 year old Elsa that steals the show. She's not a Mary Sue and you watch her character arc and journey as she takes guidance and grows. She is at the heart of not just 1883, but also all the seasons of the shows 1923 and Yellowstone with Harrison Ford and Kevin Costner.
A good way to sport sexist reviews is to observe whether WandaVision is included in the examples of good post-Endgame projects, and as we can see here, the creator went as far as listing GotG 3 before WV as such.
why was it embarrassing?
why do you people hate ANYTHING tailored to teenage girls?
@@hartia4584Because female teenagers could care less. They took "boy-brands" that everyone liked, into "girl-brands" no one likes.
Exactly
I doubt any of those will be good with maybe the exception of DP3
@@chasehedges6775 If I can go into any of those movies or shows without ever feeling ashamed of liking any of them after seeing clickbait thumbnails saying how objectively awful they are, that's cool by me.
The falcon movie failed at test screenings, it will be pretty bad
@arturocastroverde3349 This new saga has really turned MCU loyalists into MCU satanists, hasn't it?
I feel so sorry for the girl playing Ms. Marvel. The actress seems like a really likeable person. If her character had been given better material, she could've shined more.
No she will not. Because she is the most overrated worst actress in mcu.
She wont.
Watched this movie last night and laughed my ass off. It's a super fun watch.
The script writers were probably watching Spaceballs and decided to copy and paste the plot of stealing the atmosphere
Ms Marvel is by far the best part of this movie and I'm glad everyone feels the same. I hope any backalsh or hate is not directed at her. She’s great
This TH-cam page is ms marvel bot page group. Thats why no one like her. Unlike some TH-cam Facebook marvel bots.
No she is the worst.
Did you realize that Aladna actually part of Marvel Comics? It's not just has been written by AI, it's in the comics.
"They can only communicate in song" ... That sounds a lot like something from the new Star Trek. I remember hearing "Star Trek - Strange New Worlds" had such an episode.
It's pretty sad when you can't even remember what the name of the characters were. Black girl magic?
They stole the plot of Spaceballs and expected us to take it seriously😅
No the worst MCU films, was eternal’s I will continue to say that until the end of the MCU
No the worst mcu film was the Marvels. It was worst mcu film i ever seen my life. And go su... Your ms marvel who is indian blood heritage Gujrati girl she pretend to be a Pakistani girl.
Ms marvel is some how they are showing indian culture with this worst actress ever ms marvel who is indian by blood. So we will boycott ms marvel.
It's interesting to point out that Godzilla Minus 1 made a box office that quadrupled it's budget. The Marvels hasn't broke even.
Deserved. Western movies are 99% trash nowadays
5:33 and that section I skipped. When I watch that section it gives me nightmares like I'm watching Disney princesses singing.
it is obvious to me that disney has decided to sacrifice Miss marvel to try and save Brie Larson, but it obvious didn't work and the small fun base of Miss marvel won't be enough to save this joke of a movie.
Well a big problem is that many vocal fans are actually racist and misogynist. Just look at the comments section of videos like these.
Agreed. Script was probably AI, but input included 'make a movie in the style of disney's marvel' and they just didn't realize that would make a list the tropes people complain about.
There are still fantastically written films and shows with strong female and male characters that will appeal to both sexes. You just have to shift through the sh!t. Unfortunately, Disney is only looking for crap stories, execrably written to wrap around female characters no one cares about.

Behold, we go into these things with the lowest expectations possible, and we still walk away disappointed.
The only project I was looking forward to post endgame/no way home was Blade. I’m glad they haven’t made it now
Loki season 1 and 2 were fuckin amazing.
The reason The Marvels is so soulless is because it was written by a ginger AI
I think They should me bring back Michael B Jordan as black panther.
33 films and 69 episodes on Disney+ and they still haven't figured out how to write a villain
Thanos was a great villain

The Marvels is not worse than Thor love and thunder or multiverse of madness imo
I liked the film. It’s not the best or worst marvel film. I was glad to see Brie play the role with more emotions this time around. Captain Marvel was definitely humbled and knocked a peg or two in this film to have some character growth. Miss Marvel stole the show.
Watching this movie felt like things were just happening. It’s no coincidence that the few moments I enjoyed were all with Kamala and her family. The rest of the movie was just kinda there.
The worst mcu film?? It’s one of the top 3 worst films ever made. It’s an uncompleted dumpster fire
Captain Marvel WAS A MALE. Darban WAS A MALE. Gender and race swapping has finally paid off to be a disastrous death blow for Marvel.
The prettiest villain who makes faces to look tough. Someone give her a hug
Wanda is the prettiest villain.
Are you blind. Zawe Ashton is not the prettiest villain. She looks like X Men's storm wannabe. She has a very weak presence.
I am convinced the good writers were fired to replace them with new Gen Z writers that forgot they were making a script, so they asked ChatGPT to make them one.
Bullcrap
That actually sounds about right.
I think we all know the reason, just some people don't want to admit the problem for fear of being canceled.
Yeah I read somewhere that the director didn’t want anything to do with the movie since she had hardly any say in the decisions made for the movie
