When I was twelve, an uncle of mine became a trucker and had no place to call home. He had a collection of 4000 comics and decided he wanted me to have them, because I always sat in awe listening to the stories he’d tell me about super heroes and villains and my parents had a huge garage to store them in. I spent the next 10 years reading and selling these comic books and falling in love with them, talking on the phone with him to talk about them for hours. Then the first iron man movie came out and I asked my dad to call my uncle to see when he would be in town to watch it together. Turns out he found out he had stage four cancer so traveling was hard. We went and visited with him and we talked for so long the doctor said he hadn’t shown that much energy since he began his stay. He would die 2 months later. I would watch every marvel movie and imagine what talking to him about it would be like, I missed him so much but was so happy with everything he left behind for me. Moral of the story, I’m so fuckin happy he never had to see what it all became now.
Sorry for your loss man. These kinds of stories is why the old Marvel (and Star Wars for that matter since it's in the exact same state right now) was so special. And why Disney ruining them is so fucked up.

Like all the most powerful heroes (Carol, Thor, Wanda, Doctor Strange, Wong, and maybe Hulk too) could all flex and be OP together. Also I'm upset Doctor Strange got sidelined to stop flooding. I'm one of the rare (I think) girls that fell in love with Marvel comics because of my mother. She grew up in the 60's and 70's and traded Marvel comics with her brother and his friends. When I was a kid she introduced me to The Avengers, Thor, Captain America and The X Men. I was raised on the X Men cartoon in the 90's. Rogue was always my favorite character but I liked the boys a lot too. I knew in school I was an anomaly. Only the boys liked comics, I made lots of male friends because of my knowledge but I never wanted to change their comic world. I liked it the way it was. Modern media needs to learn that, these things are classics for a reason. They stood the test of time because they're good. And to think they spent $300m on this. Once again, Disney proves they no longer know how to make a movie. I watched the original Snow White recently. What a masterpiece. This is clearly no longer the same company that created the movies of my childhood.
We’ve come to a point in storytelling where if you don’t have every race or gender or tranny in your story then it won’t work. These companies need to develop actual stories instead of spending their entire budget looking for a certain person.
I'm not even mad or upset at this. I'm just...utterly disinterested. Disney may as well have spent that money documenting the life cycle of giant clams.

they didnt even deserve that. women had nothing to do with marvel being popular enough to make a movie universe around it. in fact most women have traditionally scorned the medium....but when it became a billion dollar franchise all of a sudden every movie needs a special cutout for the women to come together in celebration of them being women.
And all badly acted in that 6 seconds too. They look like they are about to walk down a model show runway. Not like they are about to face a dangerous foe.

Storm. Mystique. Rogue. Kitty Pryde. Jean Grey. Sue Storm. Aunt May. Jessica Jones. Lady Sif. Mariko. Black Widow. So many phenomenal, proven, universally loved women from Marvel cannon, yet MCU runs with this trio, then scolded audiences for not respecting/appreciating/instantly loving them. When they stop worrying about producing content to placate social media harpies and return to storytelling with underlying universal themes, maybe they can come back to former glory. Until then... more content, more wasted potential, more wasted money, and more alienated fans.

I love how they attempt to make these silly lady villains seem "imposing" by giving them giant shoulder pads and CGI biceps--You know, qualities that would make LARGE MEN imposing, and it just looks absolutely ridiculous on the 5'3 90lb TikTok influencer actresses they shoe-horn into these roles. Remember when the original Fox X-Men movie came out, and the entire production crew went into great detail about how they didn't want the characters to come off looking silly in their transition from comic books to cinema? Marvel has lost ALL touch with that kind of sensibility, and Cate Blanchett's Hela was likely the last time the MCU conceived a female villain who didn't make me break into fits of laughter or cringing at first sight.
Another difference about the X-Men movies was, as bad as the third one may be, Jean Gray really was a destructive force and we had to see a battle within our protagonist to end the threat that he loved so much. As bad as those movies may have seemed then, they seem absolutely great when you look at the releases we see today. It’s all about pandering and far less about making a film that EVERYBODY can go see and enjoy. I wish I still had TCM on television. I’m starting to enjoy shows and movies from the 50’s and 60’s more than anything else put out today. There are exceptions, but there’s more shit than there is gold.
It's laughable that 1900s media as early as the ~1940s to the 1990s and things from 2000 to now can give you all around better female characters than whatever the MCU is doing. Sure the other movies in recent or older media have highs and lows too when it comes to portraying cool female characters, but the MCU is really hammering it down with how consistently they're churning out self centered "heroes" I am supposed to root for and care about. They're giving nobody anything. I'm not getting anything from them as a woman. I feel a lot more fulfillment in watching women from the black and white movie era lmao! The people that seem to enjoy these movies at this point still are either in extreme denial and can't let go of something they loved, the same level of extremists like the ones who throw this boring garbage out or contrarians- contrarians who deliberately refuse to listen to the other side and take a real genuine double take on what they're defending

As a woman, I'm insulted that these female characters aren't written with as much passion or care as the previous male characters. They're unfunny, unlikable and lack character arcs or depth. When I was younger I was excited to see more female superheroes onscreen, now I'm just disappointed. In reality, they just make us look bad.
Yeah but I also think if this bluepill gaslighter Nerdrotic was honest he'd admit almost every marvel movie is trash. I'd make exception for guardians of the galaxy series and 2003's hulk.
It's the classic case of writing female characters that are innately strong, instead of writing strong characters that happen to be female. There's plenty of material on this, but my favourite example is Mulan. In the original, she works, trains, practices, and uses her cunning, determination and courage to overcome what she lacked in experience and physical strength. In the remake, she was inherently masterful at almost everything just because "woman always stronk". Who wants to watch that? It's like asking the audience whether they'd root for the scrappy underdog trying to slumdog millionaire their way to a better life or a rich kid with a trust fund eating grapes by the pool.
Yes it makes women look inept in these positions when most of the time they’re being put there by someone else to meet a quota. They’re not experienced enough to handle the positions they’re being put in or the limelight cast upon them without making themselves look even worse when the backlash comes. It’s a bad look all around but lots of the leading women seem to be taking the heat for the companies that are guilty of putting them there which isn’t great.
As a man, it is SO refreshing to hear WOMEN call out this INSANITY. I think most men LIKE female heros (emotionally healthy men, that is). There's a reason why series like Charmed from the 90 were so popular, even among men. I even used to discuss with my schoolmates who had a crush on which sister. And my movie fan family members LOVE the Underworld first movie (the rest of them, outside the prequel one, were just bad). But what's going on now needs to be stopped.
"And I'm guessing the catering sucked." 😂 Thank you Nerdrotic (and friends) for making the sad destruction of these franchises entertaining and stating the truth of where the blame belongs.

Hating on feminism seems like hating women by proxy because feminism stands for equal rights, opportunity and increased visibility and empowerment for women.
@jacobrickayzen2744 too bad feminism isn't equality, it's literal oppression of men by women because they believe they need power to be equal and revenge is necessary to harmonise womens' cycles the world over and any disagreement shows how fragile the entire movement is, when the 'we don't need no man' yet sleeps around, relies on men to pay for their onlyfans, take trash out to the dumpsters because 'the real world is dangerous', requires less work and more pay because they are so independent, yet can't walk to their car late at night by their selves..........................yet tell men than they dont need guns to feel safe when its not about feeling safe, it's about BEING safe, when women can claim to do what men can do but better, yet statistically fail at a rate thats more than men, even when the women place handicaps on themselves and actively push for men to be viewed as less, all while claiming to be equal. That's exactly the impression accounts like this one gives you. They want you to think feminism in its modern form is misandry because that's all they show you and none of the good sides. Have these accounts ever brought up that women face disadvantages in society such as finding it harder to get promotions at work despite asking for them more? That women are less likely to be called into a job interview than men even if their CVs are completely identical except for their gender? That women have their bodily autonomy debated and threatened by politicians in a way that men don't? Kelly Sue DeConnick's comment "If you don't like my politics don't buy my book" is the problem we are seeing in the MCU and many of the adaptation movies released. These writers (and producers) seem to believe that they know better than the successful and award winning writers of the source material. They don't. They just end up shunning away the core fans ( who are the best advertisement to get new fans) and put forth ideas that cater to a small percentage of the audience. They need to lose thier ego's when working on adaptations.

The fact that Kevin Feige and his band of yes people decided to bring on that psychopath who said “if you don’t like my politics don’t buy my book” for a SECOND TIME as a consultant. Congratulations Kevin Feige, you turned a billion dollar company into nothing.
her outfit, not uniform, does not fit, it's hanging off of her, she looks fuller when she is not wearing it, i don't know if that is down to the reshoots being at different times. the other outfits in the movie suffer from the same problem that that the outfits in new star wars suffer from, they look too new and clean and unused. the fighting is dance fighting like Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and the upscaling on a lot of the landscape effects looks the same as in power rangers. bring on a snowflake and safespace movie. photon lady bgm turns out to be a super villain when she travels to another universe which according to the rules we have been told causes an incursion so if she does not find a way to leave it she will cause more death to that universe than thanos could.
The whole industry is a joke at this point. Only reasonable thing to do would be to get rid of these "writers" and actors that do nothing but pander to nonexistent audiences and antagonize the audience they're meant to be entertaining and get people that know how to entertain.
I still can't believe they did the Spaceballs thing, how did that even get through first draft let alone redrafting, pre-production, filming, 3 lots of reshoots & post-production without anybody at Disney realizing how dumb it was? We're literally livin the meme 😂
Not just Spaceballs, but in the movie Oblivion with Tom Cruise aliens were stealing all the water in the ocean as well. It's completely unoriginal. But that's Disney for you.
To think that the MCU was the hottest film series in the world with guaranteed box office success just a few short years ago, to this train wreck. They’ll be studying this downfall for years to come
Funny I actually hated that moment in endgame with the women going “we got your back” and my two sisters next to went “that was corny as hell” I never thought there should be more of that 😅
Sadly, these film makers think that those artificial moments are what the audience wants. Why can't we get more movies like the X-men movies? They had plenty of diversity, but also showed male and female superheroes working together without having to constantly announce that they are women.
A quote from Soviet Russia, specifically from Anne Applebaum’s Red Famine, I keep coming back to is, “They cannot represent themselves! They must BE represented!” 🙃
I remember great black characters in TV shows and movies as far back as the 1970s. I don't understand this latest push of diversity for diversity's sake.
In liberal minds if there are 70% white people, 16% black etc etc...diversity only counts if there is 50% white/50% black. Because I am betting that if you looked at the actual stats you would have seen representation around the actual real demographic numbers. I remember when I was in the Air National Guard after I got out of active duty. We had one of those we are the world meetings to talk about diversity and stuff. They were telling us how much omoney they are wasting to get other races to join the Guard. They put up the pie chart with the demographics for our state. Then they put up the pie demographic for the demographics in the Guard. They were pretty well matching. So someone asked if the Guard demographics is almost perfect for the state demographics why are they wasting all that money to get more? Someone asked if there were only 1000 of that race in the whole state what would they do to get more if they had all 1000 since it would still be below the amount of white people. They acted like they couldn't understand. They don't care about representation based on actual numbers. They want everything to be the same as white people even if they are just a fraction of white people. I am waiting for the other races to rise up and slap the black race down because they are the ones being catered to and the rest are kind of an after thought.
Imagine if Disney cancelled it. It would've saved Disney the money and humiliation while it would've saved us from seeing something literally no-one wanted to see.
You'd think that at some point Disney would have realized that most of the hyped-up comments and articles for these things are ones that they've bought or produced themselves, lol. But noooooo.
Could just not watch it, its likely aimed at the teen audience, girls especially so no reason to watch it if you aren't the demographic, that's why I don't know why people get so worked up about movies that aren't necessarily aimed at them, star wars fans watch everything star wars even though some of it is specifically for kids like Droids or some of the more recent animated, I didn't watch she hulk because I could see it was aimed at a female audience, all the connections to it were to get that audience interested in the rest of MCU
@@cgdimensioni agree with you and i havent watched anything since endgame but it seems all they are making now is not aimed at the loyal viewers. I can see why that would get them worked up.
One of the most irritating things in this movie for me is the space inaccuracy. For a cinematic universe with such a strong focus on space, you’d think they wouldn’t make the sun the same size as Earth. The sun is so small and they get way too close to it to be possible. Also it takes 8 minutes for light from the sun to reach earth. When the one girl started sucking the sun through the whole, the earth’s perspective saw it dimming in real time, immediately. It’s not a huge deal nor is it important to the movie, but it just annoys me.
My mate went and saw it (part of his insane hope that "this will be different") and described how this had fundamentally shaken his final small amount of dwindling faith in Marvel. Like some die hard fans, this guy made it a point to be the friend in the group that is dedicated to read all the comics, follow the Lore, and (unfortunately) watch all the movies. The real sad thing is when he asks for us to join him to watch a movie (for example "The Marvels") we all decline because it is shit, so he goes by himself. This has carried on for years and always comes with the phrase "Cmon guys it can't be that bad". I think he always knew but was just to stubborn to let go of marvel

When I was 8 I wrote a story where the X-Men had to stop Magneto from stealing power from the magnet store. Yes, the magnet store. That’s the level of writing we’re dealing with in this movie.
Captain Marvel became blockbuster only because it was released right after Avengers Infinity war and post credit scene where they shows captain marvel is kinda only hope to save Avengers. And it was kinda must watch for Marvel fans like me to know what happens before Avengers end game to know the plot but i had literally 0 interest in this the marvels because of many reasons like there was no hype or reason around it like part1 to watch it, no cool renowned villains at all and also these leads have kinda flop series which i haven't watched at all. I would say they released movie in a wrong time, lack of good villains and no hype at all. 300+ millions dollars is huge loss for Marvel Universe.
The cut to Tim Curry actually made me smile. Imagine. A movie made in the "70s that was an over the top, campy B movie, is better and more fun than all the Disney produced MCU and Star Wars combined.

And to think they spent $300m on this. Once again, Disney proves they no longer know how to make a movie. I watched the original Snow White recently. What a masterpiece. This is clearly no longer the same company that created the movies of my childhood.
Walt Disney has been turning over in his grave for a very long time at what his company has become now.
We’ve come to a point in storytelling where if you don’t have every race or gender or tranny in your story then it won’t work. These companies need to develop actual stories instead of spending their entire budget looking for a certain person.
It also made $10 billions in today's money:)

“I do not need a 40 year old white dude-“
I do not need a trans character taking the role of an important character
Storm. Mystique.
I quite liked Carol Danvers in the comics also. Without her there would be no Rogue, at least as we know her.

Cause they weren't acting like toxic males, they had their own agency and most importantly LOOKED LIKE WOMEN.
Another difference about the X-Men movies was, as bad as the third one may be, Jean Gray really was a destructive force and we had to see a battle within our protagonist to end the threat that he loved so much.

Sadly, these film makers think that those artificial moments are what the audience wants. Why can't we get more movies like the X-men movies? They had plenty of diversity, but also showed male and female superheroes working together without having to constantly announce that they are women.
@@nerychristianI wanted a Storm movie. Then the superhero movies turned to woke sewerage. Now the LAST thing I want is a Storm movie.
@@jeremytitus9519 it’s honestly shocking they didn’t make one already. She’s a diverse woman who’s op af. Seems right up their alley.
The "girl power" moment in Infinity War was so organic and earned. Endgame was so just blatant and forced.
@@Coolman13355No one asked for that. They should've kept the girl power moment to Pepper Potts superhero-landing.
I'd agree with their principles of having diversity in films if there hadn't already been diversity for the past 70 years.
A quote from Soviet Russia, specifically from Anne Applebaum’s Red Famine, I keep coming back to is, “They cannot represent themselves! They must BE represented!” 🙃
This exactly. Like people pretend that Blade and Spawn didn't exist each time they exaggerate Black Panther.
There is a law now which states ypu have to hve diverse lead actors xD
Imagine if Disney cancelled it. It would've saved Disney the money and humiliation while it would've saved us from seeing something literally no-one wanted to see.
You'd think that at some point Disney would have realized that most of the hyped-up comments and articles for these things are ones that they've bought or produced themselves, lol. But noooooo.
I don't like EVEN KNOWING this movie EXISTS!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't even watch it but just knowing it exists sends shivers down my spine 😨😨
I shit you not I have never met a bigger fan in my life, this guy really believed it would eventually get better.
This man has looked into the void so long that eventually it looked back.
5 years? Does this friend require some guardian to cross the street?
dude i got the same case with a friend who go throug these series and movies (including starwars shit ashoka and such) forcibly and when i ask he wont give me a reasonable answer, he just goes "music is ok, cgi is awesome" and whatnot but can give me a straight ass answer, he knows they suck but still he goes to see em... they are not alone dude, dont feel sorry for em, i gave up on them as i gave up on marvel/starwars/disney shit
@chivasroco1752 hahaha feels like it sometimes, the reality is he just can't let it go.
@@blacktemplar1629 Props to the real bros that let him hurt himself and grow up from it tbh.
A reality check is what he needed, and nobody can force it into him.
Before someone comments "You're a bad friend for refusing to pay for entertainment you knew wouldn't entertain you!": No. Stop cuddling grown ass men, he had to learn at some point.
Let’s also not forget that even with this dumpster fire, Marvel STILL has plans to make more movies and shows like this down the road. The people in charge are completely insane and the MCU truly is dead
The only movie i'm kind of excited about is Deapool 3 and i can only hope it stays untouched from the grubby hands of "the message"
@Mat-yup1 gonna bet they ruin tf out of it, 1st was good; 2nd was getting into the wokeness a touch. This 3rd flick might be a cannon ball into the woke.
I heard they are slowing down and focusing on quality.
They've already scrapped the script for Blade and are getting new writers until they are satisfied. Which is a good thing. Loki was awesome so they are one step in the right direction
How much money do they have left to lose?
agreed. ryan reynolds is a wokie himself.

*"BLACK GIRL MAGIC!!!!"*
Someone actually thought that line was worth leaving into this thing. And I thought the racial pandering was bad four years ago...
I think I lost a brain cell after I heard that line.
@@BrickFighter13You aren't alone in that assessment, friend.
¿Adónde vamos a ir para llegar? No lo sé, pero sí sé que tenemos que irnos.
I’m shocked that some men didn’t look up at that black girl and shout “Oh, they fly now!” “They fly now?!” They fly now.”
SHEEIT 🥷🏾please
There is no way back for Capt Marvel. When they killed the Illuminati with almost no effort broke the rules of the world so badly it can’t be repaired. The Illuminati would never approach Wanda with no defenses.
I get a deep joy out of watching bad things fail. It’s more entertaining than the actual movies they make.
This movie was enjoyable
Allow me to recommend Worth A Buy, his gaming reviews especially when its a terrible game are hilarious. He's fair though not just intentionally ripping games for views, but if they genuinely deserve it....he doesn't hold back.
Everyone loves watching an accident on the road.
Making Samuel L Jacksson look bad in a movie takes some serious dedication!
@@nisonatic "performative groveling" this is a very insightful coinage, well done
Not really.
He looked pretty trash in Kong:Skull Island.
Nah, man. SLJ is extremely overrated. He always acts like himself and by the 30th movie you're done with his bulls*t
@@nisonaticSamuel L Jackson is enjoying his paycheck 😂 he don’t gaf about the script
I said the same thing ,because Samuel is a damn good actor .
When I was 8 I wrote a story where the X-Men had to stop Magneto from stealing power from the magnet store. Yes, the magnet store.
That’s the level of writing we’re dealing with in this movie.
I'd watch this. 😄
I'd watch it over The Marvels
Hahaha😂
I'm so interested. How did Magneto get on? 😂
I love the idea of a magnet store. I’m always running short of magnets! 😂
Martin Scorsese was spot on when he said superhero movies are like amusement parks
He saw it coming, the potential dwindled and was leaking with mcu
Almost as if he was a great film maker and fan of real cinema.
It's amazing that the current state of the mcu can be boiled down to a 6 second clip of endgame. And no one said "two hours of this please."
The cut to Tim Curry actually made me smile. Imagine. A movie made in the "70s that was an over the top, campy B movie, is better and more fun than all the Disney produced MCU and Star Wars combined.
& it has better “representation”. Lol
RHPS was awesome for the time and has a large following for decades.
Made a joke that went over heads.
Hasta la vista, Disney.
