  • The MOAB series from 5.11 are great bags have many uses for EDC, travel, tactical, etc. The MOAB10 comes in 3 colors and retails for $99. I thought the video ended up a bit long, but this bag has so many features its hard to cram them all in!!

    I bought this bag yesterday. I found that if you have too much stuff in the front section, it makes it hard to fit a handgun in that hidden pocket.

    I have watched several video reviews on this bag and I think your video is the best. It is clean, to the point. I will be obtaining this bag, I like it. Thanks.

    Thanks for the response, all your 5.11 Rush.. videos cleared up alot of things. The videos are great.
    Think I'll be getting the MOAB 10 now and the Rush 24 in the new year.

    @kreeloo Upate to your question... My dad at I are on a trip. On the way here he had his MOAB10 as his carry on and it was loaded with stuff and quite heavy, much more so than the RUSH24 he just had clothes in. he said the MOAB10 was pretty stable on his back all full, granted he was just walking and not jerking it all around doing vigorous activity, but seemed good as he had it. Hope that helps some at least.

    Nice looking bag. Looks like it has a lot of practical features. I've found single strap bags to wear on the shoulder/back during long hikes. How did you find this after your trip? Any recommendations for a similar bag with two shoulder straps? Thanks in advance!

  • @SnareMan
    @SnareMan  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sorry for the delay. There is a small velcro flap that you lift up and can then pull it out.

    If they were small it might fit. I wouldn't think it was necessarily the best school bag though. What about a Rush 12? Its a good medium sized bag I'd think would be good for school.

    Will this bag fit a bunch of textbooks (maybe 3 max) and other school work stuff? How much can you really carry?
    I'm trying to decide between this and the rush 24. This pack looks ideal for travelling!!!!

    I’m using my “old” one as my only travel bag, right now, as I travel back home after two days in NYC. I say “old” because I just bought my third MOAB 10 the other day. But the old one is still in great shape. Then there’s my “ancient” one that I still have...

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably works great as a small travel pack.

    • @da.reverend
      @da.reverend 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      SnareMan Yep. So does the Rush 12. And the Osprey Nebula, as you pointed out in your review. It all depends on what I need to carry for travel.

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep - all great packs! :-)

  • @SnareMan

    The bag is at my parents right now so I can't stick one in it to be positive. Did I say it will hold a MBP? I can't remember

  • @edgeobserver
    @edgeobserver 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @snareman95 Maybe I'll try out the Rush 12, if you think the quality is there. I think I'd definitely need the balance of an extra strap... I like the features outlined in the Rush 10 and assume the 12 is similar (thanks for the review BTW). Aside from the extra weight on a shoulder, single straps can sometimes turn around the body when climbing which is a bit irritating..... Looks like an excellent bag for traveling/city though. Maybe I should get both : )

  • @SnareMan
    @SnareMan  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @edgeobserver It worked well on the trip. My dad had his loaded full with lots of heavy stuff and used it as his carry on. Worked pretty well as a dual camera bag and extra clothing bag on Iwo. I considered using a Rush12 for the trip, but often don't want that extra strap to deal with.

    would you recommend this over the rush 24 or 72? and any maxpedition or other bags?

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the Rush 24 is a great medium bag. I really don't use my MOAB that much. I'm not that familiar with many of the Maxpedition bags to be able to compare them. So it just depends on how large of a bag you need. if you don't need to carry much the MOAB10 might be perfect for you.

  • @ionkinetic

    Just want to be sure, do this really fit a 15" Macbook Pro. The dimensions on 5.11 and Apple homepages make me think its was a speech error.

    How are the zippers. I always blow out my zippers on the 25$ Walmart ones. They get stuck and stay stuck

    • @srbontrager
      @srbontrager 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      All 5.11 bags use YKK brand zippers. The same brand used in most if not all military equipment. These zippers will not disappoint you like those on the cheap chinesium bags at Walmart.

    i have a moab 10 and it has a thin plastic piece in the back compartment. Is that supposed to come out? I tried to pull it out but it wont come out

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I sold mine so I can't check, but I have some memory of that piece. I never tried to take it out, but it seemed like it might with some effort.

  • @chrisrobinson1613
    @chrisrobinson1613 ปีที่แล้ว

    So by saying hook and loop inside handgun pocket you're say there is a way to mount a holster?

    • @srbontrager
      @srbontrager 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, you can get a hook and loop(velcro) holster that'll fit your particular firearm. That way you can position the firearm to your preference. One caution though. Stay away from the cheap Chinese Amazon holsters. Go with a good quality holster. Preferably a molded kydex hook and loop holster.

    How do one remove that hard plastic in the bladder compartment?

  • @SnareMan
    @SnareMan  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    No bother. :-) The bag is about 3" deep, so while it would fit, you aren't going to get much else into it besides the binder. I'd think maybe the RUSH12 might be a better option unless you really don't carry much.
