    My pack cost about $700. But it cost me about $400. I asked for allot of the pouches and such as gifts. It took me about 1 year to polish it off to wear I wanted it. Now I am set. I first started off with the essentials. 3 Day Pack, water, fire, shelter, food rations, light, first aid, and communication. Then I started added luxury/convenience items that I could use everyday.

    I'm glad someone on here talks about the weight issue when it comes to BOB. In my time in the service, we routinely had 40-60 lb packs and sometimes more and people, regardless of their size, carried their packs on multi mile humps. They may not have liked it but they did it and were more than able......and that weight does not include weapons and FLAK with SAPI plates. 40 lbs is not heavy. Awesome Video!

I can buy those for a buck or less, and a LOT will fit in my pack. Yours is a VERY comprehensive setup and I commend you on an EXCELLENT job!

    I purchased one of these to use as my railroad grip. One of the things I love about the 5.11 packs is that you can add external packs. I work road jobs and yard jobs. When I am on the road, I clip my external drop bag with my out of town items. Being able to strap molly attachments on the outside of the pack is also great. Things can get pretty dirty at work and I want to keep work items separate from personal items. One item I love on the pack is the optional rifle carrying system that I use to carry my brake stick for work. A great pack and options seem unlimited.

I'm a 14 yr old girl so I'm not pro kitted out like him but I have a cross bow (wooden) a sling shot and a home made shot made from the cardboard inside toilet roll and a balloon cut in half and taped around the cardboard (I might change the cardboard into a pipe). My 2 foods are a bag of porridge and a bag of pasta :) I love anything army, guns,survival,knifes,farming,hunting, creating ect. Really cool pack tho you are really prepared and you have it really organised and you explained it well thank you :)

      JimmyGunXD556 small water resistant sting tied bags are becoming very inexpensive (under $3), and a great way to group interior items by subject group (first aid, tools, food, clothing, etc). They add almost no weight, and can be labeled with a sharpie.

    This is definitely one of, if not, the best bug out bag videos I've seen. The only thing I can think of that you're missing is a good quality water filter(like a MSR filter). Yea there a bit bulky. But you'll find room in there some where. I'd say forget those water treatment tablets. Keep them of course. But when real emergency hits the fan, clean fresh water is every thing some times. Cool video.

    This information was so very helpful that I marvel to see anyone giving it thumbs down. Thank for sharing with me. Some of the comments below are horrible. The man said "urban EDC...pack". He's not leaving the city to head out into the bush for 72 hours or more but I'm always glad to hear people say they will be leaving the city to head out to live on the grubs right away. I see this gentleman like myself. I have lived thru 3 major floods and 2 major hurricanes. When you leave you never know how long it will before you get back into your home. We had plenty of time to grab water and foodstuffs on the way out the door. You need to have the comforts of home could be 72 hours, could be 2 weeks. He gave me ideas for sleeping bag attachment. Don't be jealous because the man has lots of cool stuff. I can't afford Maxpedition large backpacks but I can buy 5.11. Anyway this video was loaded with great ideas.

    Love the pack, some of the items i thought were brilliant! This pack seems to move between 72 hour and SHTF(fishing rod, 6L blatter??), Love the internal use of molle bags, this will allow you to adjust the bag's composition/structure as you move, brilliant! I would be careful with hanging items on the outside of the bag, i would want to be as quiet and locked down as possible, only a single light on the outside of the bag (the cheap light). I have found one simple thing to not over look is a tennis ball for meeting dogs and for something to do while walking.

      Thanks, its nice to see comments from people who "get it". Being modular allows you to cater the situation with what you want for a particular scenario or application. Hanging items are for fast access. There are no situations that I would have to be stealth in any survival situation. If I did and realized it. I can detach the items and stow them accordingly.

      Yes I'm on the road a lot and have to eat in my car. Sometimes I'm in someone else's car. My bug out bag is part of my EDC. In case of a bug out situation it's obvious I will not need stain remover and depending on the situation other things out of my pack can be discarded depending on the situation. But I feel it's best to utilize your bug out bag as an everyday carry does it keeps you familiar with the gear that you have.

I put all the Molle pouches and gear that you cannot have on a plane and put it in my suitcase. I carried my first aid kit and my spare backpack ( for wife) and it was great for shopping and bringing back pop and snacks back to the hotel room. you just can't be Pals webbing and Molle attachments. they allow you to cater your pack for every need versus buying a bunch of backpacks.

      @@JimmyGunXD556 Or a hundred pound gut, that's good. A lot of people that say "wow, a 40 lb ruck is heavy" are carrying tons of extra weight because they're fat ass keyboard warriors and survivalists that are eating candy bars while they watch these videos and comment on them, lol. Most would become disoriented and may die in the wilderness because they forgot things as simple as land navigation. I have chronic pain and, when I run guns and gear and camp in the wooded mountains around my deeply rural house, I carry more than 40 pounds of guns, ammo, mags, pistol belt, plate carrier ( I don't run plates ), and way more in my rucks. If a 45 year old guy with pretty severe, lifelong chronic pain of long standing and that walks with a limp can do it, they can. I use a cane ( walking/trekking pole in the wild ), but I still do it :)

      Jimmy I've got a question, do the drainholes that the bag has at the bottom been an inconvenience for you at any time... I ask because maybe by placing it on the ground then dirt and whatever dust and particles can get in the bag... That is my only concern now to get this bag

    • @JimmyGunXD556
      @JimmyGunXD556  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, but I never really had to put it down much on dirt or soaked ground. Mostly carpet grass and concrete. The concrete did wear out the groumnets a bit. But the denier has held up great. If something pops you want it to drain not to ruin what's in the pack. But you don't want anything coming in either. That's why most of my stuff is sealed in the pack. I'm protected either way.
