Was dreading this. Had all of the parts sitting for over a year. Ran across your video and got it done in a day! Thank you for taking the time to do this.
Beauty! Nicely done, boys. You made it look easy. I tried my manual rivet tool on those trim fasteners but I didn’t have an attachment with the right sized opening for the pin! E84 wheel arch trim, btw.
@@AskTheCarExperts Thank you for Nice, easy, smarty installation video. 🙏💪🏻 Could you please help me maybe with the link for shop where I can get same electric hitch but for 7 series F01 2013? Will Much appriechate. 😊
Excellent video guys. I’ve been thinking of doing this on my 2018 X3. My biggest worry would be not recalling which bolts go where while reinstalling everything. :) That is a nice hitch and wiring setup though.
Hi, where did you get that molding for the bumper ,from the dealer ?because I didn’t have that included in the package .Just trailer hitch, module ,harness wires.
Hey I need some help about my bmw323ci. My car turns, but there is no throttle. It turns doesn't even start. When I spray fuel starter into the intake tube it starts force seconds then shuts off. Do you think the throttle body is clogged?? I've replaced the fuel pump but nothing happend.
Hi Daniel, This sounds like you are not getting fuel. If you spray into the throttle the vehicle is using the spray as fuel and starting. I would check fuel pressure to verify but it sounds like it could be a bad fuel pump.
Part numbers can vary depending on vehicle options. Your best bet would be to call your local dealer with your VIN to get the part number for your BMW.
Hi Osman, Not sure if that would be possible but I would be worried that it may trigger when you would not want it to. Like if a bike rack was installed. Could cause damage.
You could try but it usually is not enough to break the field. Also you wouldn't want it to accidentally activate when you don't want it to such as a biike rack installed.

Sweet! I love to hear when my video helped someone. Thanks for sharing Rick!
Fantastic video! So concise, easy to follow, and efficient with time. Thank you!
@trivers152 You are welcome! This was a fun install. Thanks for commenting!

This was a fun project to share. I think many people now realize why the dealer charges what they do for this repair.
@@AskTheCarExperts And you two were like a well oiled machine doing that swap 👍🏻

One good method is to use some baggies and write down where they came from. Or take some picture with your phone. Tue install is not too bad overall.
@@AskTheCarExperts Thanks for the suggestion.
Great video!!! What’s the wiring harness part number please??
It does depend on the year of the vehicle. The best thing to do would be to call your local dealer for the part number looked up using your VIN
Hi, where did you get that molding for the bumper ,from the dealer ?because I didn’t have that included in the package .Just trailer hitch, module ,harness wires.
Hello, Yes all of these items where dealer ordered. The molding was not listed in the main instructions but was in the parts manual.
Hi, thank you very much for that. Do you know maybe the name of that part? How or part number do I need two moldings or one?
Great install. Thanks for sharing.
Your welcome Mike!
I cant find the piece. Where did you buy ?
@EchoesOdyssey This hitch was dealer purchased.

hello. I buy a 2022 BMW x5, can I install this one? I went to the 4S and they said no?
I am pretty confident it would be available through a dealer. You need them to look it up by VIN
thanks! good one!
You're welcome!
Would you happen to know if such DIY installation could void 'Certified Pre-Owned' waranty?
Hi Maciek, No using OEM parts would not void your warranty. The CPO would not cover the hitch but normal CPO covered items would still be covered.
Did you have to program the module or no?
@LexusLFA91 Yes, The car needs coding for the module to work. Had the local dealer do the coding.
Great info here. Thanks!
Thanks Brian!
Very good job thank you for info
You are welcome!
Could you please list parts number in description or comments? Especially wiring harness as it is not good viable on video ?

Where did you get hitch and harness? And how much was it?? Thanks ))))
Hi Andy, It was purchased from my local dealer.
@@AskTheCarExperts I see, what was the cost of everything?
@@Anderwist That would be the cost at your local dealer. Not cheap :) 😀
cant you find a way to keep the kick feature , as the sensor is small cant be fit to the right
Hi Osman, Not sure if that would be possible but I would be worried that it may trigger when you would not want it to. Like if a bike rack was installed. Could cause damage.
cant you keep the kick feature by placing the sensor to the right with a custom fitment?
You could try but it usually is not enough to break the field. Also you wouldn't want it to accidentally activate when you don't want it to such as a biike rack installed.
