Do you have a video or instructions of how to remove the lower cover (where the camera is). i scraped the lower cover and need to change it. I would prefer not to remove the whole assembly from the door. Thanks.
Do NOT! I repeat, DO NOT do this method. You can pop the cap off. I just did this on my wife's g05 50i. There are a lot of videos that show you how easy it is to remove the cap and NOT THE MIRROR.
This is the method recommended by BMW. You CAN pop off just the cap, but you can also break the parts where the clip goes in and the new cap will be loose
Not true, i just did mine, WITHOUT removing my mirror. Doing it your way will have my mirror broke. Please do NOT try it this way!! I have a 2020 X6M50i & the cover popped right off from the back side Mirror still attached. @SimpleCarGuy
Do not believe those easy replacement vidoes. Yes, it is doable, but it took me 30 minutes and I have to cut srips of steel to keep clips open on X3 F25 to remove just one cap
well done buddy. i am thankful that you made such a clear video with no obstructions for the whole process too.
Glad it helped. Thanks for watching!
I already have the real ones on my x5M and they do look much better than the standard ones.
Thank you, this video was very helpful. I had to replace a cracked support ring and this made the job much easier.
great video thanks, link for mirror looks to be broken any update?
wow that looks so much better!
Thanks for the sharing. Very helpful in helping me fix mine. Thanks!

Sorry, don’t have a video for that, but I’m pretty sure the entire unit has to be removed

Why not just remove mirror cap and replace than to remove mirror itself🤷♂️
im wondering too
There is a clip inside you need to get to

Mirror still attached. @SimpleCarGuy
@@lyukakhsergeyezovmaninov7272The mirror does NOT have to be removed.
I used the same technic and broke my clips 😩😩😩😩
Are they real carbon fiber? Or just hydrodipped plastic?
This one was real carbon fiber. It was $30-40 difference, if I remember correctly.
Follows this video and almost broke my mirror... misleading! You can just remove the cap with a trim. No need to remove mirror.
Do u have a video of doing it that way??
Although it is possible, it is WAY easier to do this job if you remove the mirror.
Does it add wind noise?
It does not.
Yes, mine came with these mirror caps and they make noise at a high speed.
Absolutely no need to remove the mirror
It’s possible without, but you risk breaking the clip that the cap clips into
it works thanks bro.
did you made video when you changed your kidney?
Yes I have, it’s on the channel!
@@SimpleCarGuy i saw that and i changed and i broke camera wire 😢 now front camera not working 😢
