Awesome that the speaker upgrade is so simple on these. That definitely wasn't the case back in the day with my R53, it's why I opted for the Harmon Kardon system from the factory. The non-HK system on those cars was like sticking cotton in your ears.

Has anyone attempted this + an Amp and recode for the equalizer? Upgrade is Great for speaker quality but would be nice to have more control
Hi Blake, I have not upgraded an AMP as of yet.
I have the HK system from the factory. It sucks balls. No bass. Like, at all, despite the underseat subwoofers.

Which 5 series you got the speakers from and what is the serial number of speakers if you can reply ?
Speakers from a G30 not sure on the serial numbers.
I have a 2018 m40i, it has standard speaker system, I am thinking about upgrading to the Harmon Kardon but am unsure on the wiring situation. The front door tweeters on the door pillars only have a plastic casing, there’s no tweeters actually there. So when I come to take it off and replace with the new tweeters will there be wiring there ready to go(I’m assuming not) or will I have to add wires in? Any ideas ? Great video by the way, you guys are brilliant
Hello, Unfortunately if your vehicle is not fitted with the speaker there would not be any wiring to support the change. You would only be able to upgrade the existing speakers which should be plug and play.
What are the sizes of the midrange and tweeter speakers?
Hello, I am not sure on exact sizes. One install was ordered by VIN and the other was from a car to car upgrade.
What about the boot speakers?
No speakers back there on this vehicle.

Hi Luis, I got them from another car that I upgraded to aftermarket speakers. You would have to find some used speakers
Where can I buy the speaker sets?
Harmon Kardon from the dealer. These where from another BMW that got a different upgrade so you may be able to find them for sale on ebay or marketplace.

Did You change the amp as well? did You need to code something?
No just the speakers for a clearer crisper sound
