If you want a challenge then you should make the top part into a corset. You already have the boning. Now you just need the ties and panel. I think it would give off renaissance vibes

Don't touch the blue dress, it will make people happy as it is! The orange revamp turned out cute🤗 You should buy and use bias tape in your next revamp, it's a nice way to "hem" edges cleanly.
I used to do this so much in college, thrift clothes and make them into something totally different. I love how this turned out. If you want you can even remake the packets so they are a little bigger.

I have empty bookshelves in my house and am so bad at decorating and styling, I would love to get some inspiration from your creative mind! :) P.s. these videos give me so much more crafting confidence! The fact that you are now making wearable clothes is such a hope for a beginner like me!
Sewing really humbles you. As someone who sews, I'll give you this advice I always ring in my head, that keeps me sane. "Slow and steady always wins in sewing". If you're getting impatient, just leave it there and take a break. Go eat, watch a movie, take a walk, do something... anything!, cuz one you're irritated you're bound to make more mistakes. After you're rejuvenated come back and continue sewing. I'll just add a few more cuz you did a phenomenal job with that dress, and I might just make one myself. - stick to your seam allowances and always measure at every step to be sure you have the right fitting measurement. Especially for waist bust, hip and half length measurements. - pinning will save you're life. - take your time drafting your pattern cuz you can always cut off, but cannot add fabric back. Looking forward to your next revamp.
I love when garments can have a second life. These dresses were once beautiful special occasion dresses and they are being turned into more functional garments. Love it.

Just a tip: It looks like you're pulling the fabric through the machine while you sew and you don't need to. It will feed through itself and all you need to do is try and keep the fabric straight.

I love how this turned out!! I feel you on the pinning step. I'm not much of a seamstress myself and I hate pinning things. I find that sometimes you can iron the creases in place and skip the pinning. It might be a little less perfect but it makes me happier when sewing. Lol 😁

Ps your mom and you really help when I miss my mom because your relationship reminds me of ours. If you see this give your mom a big hug !!! The best thing she made was links red and green costumes from Zelda.
BASTING STITCH TIP: often people will tell you to just increase your stitch length but it becomes sooo hard to take out the stitches. Instead, increase your stitch length AND drop your thread tension. That makes the stitches loose so the threads can be easily removed :)
