I went and tried to get something custom for my phone but I have a Galaxy, this website seems to really only pay attention to iPhones. They do have some cute things for droids though, but I was excited for a pressed flower case ): Oh well.

This really shows how much work goes into making a simple piece of clothing. If Mia was earning $10 per hour she still would've had to sell the dress for $120 not including the cost of materials. Yet people expect to buy dresses like that for $20. When you buy dresses that cheap from wish, and other sites the people making the clouds get like 50c per hour. Make more of these videos Mia, but mention that the time and effort that goes into making a dress means people should be willing to pay a proper price
Agreed, it’s a skill and an art form really, and like all skilled work it should be valued by people. I love that she shows how much care and work people need to do to get into to making clothes well.

Sewing Tip: Do not pull your fabric through the machine; the machine does it for you. By pulling it instead of just letting it go through you're messes up the tension of your stitches which will cause your stitches to be more visible and also looser (which is why your hems were so wonky). If you want it to go faster crank up the speed.

@@julissagaxiola9922 If you're guiding it through the machine and the tension is still loose try setting it up on your machine. I sew with a tension of 3 which is high average tension; which is a bitch to seam rip but it makes for a beautiful tight, but not too tight, finish.
With elastic you have to stretch it though so that’s why she was pulling the skirt! You’re tight though any other time! :)
This is such a good idea, and the end result was so cute, but I wish she showed us how she did the top
I think she just tied an additional piece of fabric to the heart shape, you can kinda see the piece falling forward. It's probably a knot🌹🤷♀️

Just an idea: I would have loved to see more of the dificulties you mentioned vaguely at the end, maybe in fast forward with voiceover, to learn from your mistakes. I think this try and error is way more interesting then just saying "Now it's great" and showing the final product. Anyways, love this idea and format

That giggle after saying she's keeping the green lace is me every time I shove more fabric into my craft drawer that is already busting at the seams.
Always use interfacing or a stiffer fabric on your waistband to give it more of a finished look. Especially a thick waistband. And roll them hems twice to prevent fraying!

Definately an upscale! I love what you did with the top in the end. And you were 100% correct when you said if you keep at it you'll get better. I would love to see you do this with more wish clothes! I come from a background of making clothes from scratch so im confident in my sewing skills, but haven't delved into upcycling at all. Its like you said, you cant just buy more fabric if you mess up, but your video has inspired me to give it a go! If you can do it, so can I :D

As a cosplayers and seamstress I was having a heart attack watching some steps 'cause girl it could have gone SO wrong. Right at the beginning I was like "you are not going to be making pants out of it honey, not without a pattern". The top turned out pretty cute, I would just make the knot smaller so it would be able to be more "open", but I would have take part of the fabric and made straps and put the bow on the back instead of the zipper, so your front would have the original heart shape you planned but the back would have a surprise.
But really, a nice work for someone who weren't so sure of what was doing!
