I have watched, rewatched The Chosen multiple times. Now Im finding Im watching, rewatching The Grafted episodes. Yes for the wonderful teachings and oh my you two have a way of making me laugh. GOD BLESS YOU
Great job you guys. It is refreshing to see someting of "quality" put out in the Christian world. Wonderful tool for evangelization. May the Father continue to bless it.
Sam's reaction to the cliffhanger is what the whole fan club was feeling! Can't wait for your reaction to episode 5. There will definitely be some tears. 😁
I've been looking forward to this since episode 4 dropped! I really love watching you guys react to the show to get the Jewish context on the ahow and Bible as well. I can't wait for you guys to watch episode 5. I cried like a baby and even 24 hours later I still don't really have words to articulate what I feel about it. Edit: I didn't even think about the fact that James and John were fighting over who would be at the right hand of Jesus! This is why I love watching you guys, you pick up on things I don't and give it context and it's awesome.
Tom your recognition of Gamaliel is striking. A new insight! After watching your explanation, I felt for (talk to) myself, "knowing is not sufficient but connecting what is known can bring understanding and eventually wisdom."
33:02 one thing that Veronica mentions is that she is banished from her family, meaning unclean women had no family, no roof, and no promise of food, just hoping that they would one day find hope because they were treated worse than the lappers.
I LOVED your reactions! You will be blown away by part 2 in Episode 5. I appreciate your knowledge of the Jewish movements at that time and the details that you add.
Love you guys a lot. The reactions are authentic, yet your insights are not rehearsed, but come from a place of knowledge. Above all the heart for the kingdom and love of people and the Creator is inspiring. Thanks, and keep it up.
He gave us power but no understanding. Completely agree in my case. Born again from a Hindu background alone as a teenage girl. I had to fight and suffer a lot.He gave me the strength to go through it. But looking back 25 years, I feel like I didn't know Him as much as I know now. Honey tastes better and better every time we taste it. His love and loving-kindness and patience to mold me was a long process. Discipleship is a hard part of sanctification .. Thank you for this video
Hello! I love listening to your reactions to The Chosen episodes. You mentioned that in season 3 episode 5 that the name given to the woman who had the issue of blood, Veronica, was a Catholic tradition. I am Catholic and never heard that. We have a tradition that when Jesus was on his way to the Cross, He fell and a woman came forward and used her veil to wipe Jesus face. The image of His face remained on her veil. She was as tradition goes, was named Veronica. I just heard recently that In Greek Veronica means True Icon. The true Icon remained on her veil. Shalom 💗
It's a joy watching this with you guys & being a part of the disecting, analysing & experiencing the reactions together ..... with so many others of cause. (your not watching it alone) & your not talking over the top of the scene while it's running. Thank you
Laughing, crying, learning, growing. Every time. Thank you. I really appreciate it when you bring up Scripture. It would be so nice to dive deeper into some of these topics with Scriptures... May the Lord bless you guys. 🙏❤
Thank you for pointing out the selected film choice during the Disciple's Ministry. I hadn't thought about it being a visual aide between Darkness and Light, though the shadows and lighting were still Amazing. I saw this as a way to help those watching really focus on the Preaching and Miracles of Jesus Christ's Disciples! Instead of going, "Oh look, more cool scenes!", and then brushing them off, you could really focus and pay attention to the message, especially when it was presented visually and with music only.
You talked about how the enemy comes at you when you have been used of God. It can be pretty intense to work with the Holy Spirit like that. I always remember Elijah after God's amazing victory against Jezebel's idols! I find that story to be one of the most impressive displays of God's glorious power! But Poor man, he felt like he was all alone. He ran away, afraid that Jezebel's soldiers were after him, until he collapsed. God sent ravens to care for him. God knows how weak we really are without him. 🙌
I didn’t know it was her name. I am a newer student of the Bible. Always a believer just started researching it in the recent past. I will say thank you to The Chosen for boosting my productivity.
She's not given a name in scripture just like the gospels don't tell us Simon's wife's name or his mother-in-law. Although the name Veronica isn't in the bible, the woman who wipes Jesus face free of sweat and blood with her head scarf on the way to the cross has been given the name Veronica (by ancient early church traditions) because in Greek the name means "true icon." It's believed an image of Jesus face was left on the cloth. I wonder if Dallas and the writers know that? Happy for you rediscovering the gospels with The Chosen.
To speak to the Sanhedrin Scene, I noticed that Josephus, that one Pharisee, wasn't at the meeting! I think your prediction about him being Josephus of Arimaia was spot on! I think this scene was the meeting of the Sanhedrin where they agreed to work with the Roman Law to crucufy Jesus... It's just a theory, but it seems to check out! Also on one if the chosen adds, it shows Josephus coming to warn Jesus, so, that's kind of cool! Rock on, -Abby
John the beloved - there is a conversation between him and Mother Mary in S2 ep1 when John says "he loved me" and she answers sth like "he loved all of you! Only you feel the need to talk about it more often" :)
Hey grafted guys poor women of good reputation with no other supports or work skills often became washerwomen. My great great grandmother was a washerwoman in Alabama after slavery ended. Backbreaking work for pittance but it was respectable work in a community.
That is Joseph of Armenia. ( spelt totally wrong) The key was that he paid to have all the supplies delivered from Jerusalem to fix the cistern. His family was wealthy he said like a episode ago
I’m about a month late in seeing this video. I love the theological history you two provide. Just an observation of the excellent script writing of The Chosen. (I have only one issue that doesn’t appear in this episode.) Just as Yusef appears to be Joseph of Arimathea, I suspect that Veronica will be the Veronica who wipes the face of Jesus on His way to Calvary. If I’m correct about that, it will be interesting to see the transfer of Jonathan’s image portrayed as miraculously appearing onto Veronica’s veil. Your opinion?
As a child I remember hearing the bible stories about the raising of Jairus' daughter and the healing of the bleeding woman who touched his cloak. I don't think she was ever given an actual name in the scriptures but the story is undeniable. Great commentary :)
"But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings [fringes or 'tzitzit]. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall." Malachi 4:2 I heard a commentator who speculated that perhaps the woman was thinking of when she went to look for Jesus and thought all she needed to do was touch the fringes of his garment.
It was because of your Veronica video that I really wanted The Chosen to portray her touching the tzitzi! I was so happy when they did! Only wish they had tied it to Malici
It's not about just touching his robe. Many touched his robe. It was about her faith. It's all about faith in him. It's not about sitting in nice cushy seats, or a preacher who uses the good book for bigger churches. He didn't come to save the righteous, he came to save the sinner. He offers eternal life, not riches on earth. If they come great, congratulations. True wealth is what he offers.
Me too! I think everyone did! Went back to Matthew 8 and read it again after! Still emotional thinking about it! My prayer: Thank you Lord Jesus for your Love and Compassion to all of us, for the cross at Calvary! And using Dallas and team to turn hearts back to you! Reaching those who may never have read Scripture or enter a church, or forbidden to do so! God bless Grafted team! You guys blend healthy humour to a profound subject!!😊 Thank you!
25:00 oh, wow! I've been feeling attacked lately. It took me more than a month to figure it out. It helps knowing i'm not alone in it. Anyone else who feels it, please know you aren't alone in it either. We don't win by destroying the darkness. We win by fighting
Say Aye ( @17:52 ) made me think of this from my study a few days ago... The Eyes have it! (1 Samuel 11:15, when reaffirming Saul as King after Nahash the Ammonite's offer to gouge out an eye of everyone in the nation in order to live.)
I didn't notice it at the time, but rewatching this episode after Eden's miscarriage is S3E5 it's obvious she's presenting her belly to Simon for his notice. Good to know being thick as a brick isn't limited to my generation.
When are you guys gonna do episode 5??? I was hoping before Sunday's episode 6!! I wait for your reactions almost as obsessively as I wait for each episode of The Chosen!! 😂
Faith isn't about understanding. Understanding is about knowing. He calls us to faith. Faith first, then sometimes comes the understanding. In my experience anyway
I really enjoy y’all’s videos! I usually watch them on my TV and then forget to log into my phone app to comment. I look forward to y’all’s review of episode 5! It was so good!

CAN’T WAIT for episode 5’a reaction, I think it’s safe to say we ALL CRIED 😭❤️
I had all the tears!
And we smiled and laughed at the ending!
I did!
I cried
Hi? You have my birthday numbers.. I'm here
Looking forward to the Episode 5 reaction. Sometimes the cliffhangers are hard when you've read the book first!!! 😆😆

The editor had fun with this reaction of yours. 😅❤
The music and chanting is pretty effective as well. This series is incredibly well made, it's only increased my faith in Christ
I love love love you guys! Love hearing the Messianic Jewish slant on all of this. SO GOOD! x
Can’t wait till your episode 5 reaction! It really did melt my face off like Johnathan said it would!
I love the way you said, "I've read the script." I love how fleshing out the stories makes the stories clearer. Love the Chosen.

The episode where Jesus told little James "oh, the stories you will tell"
Wow, did I have tears.
I’m patiently waiting for episode 5 reaction! I was in shambles 😂😂😂

WHOA! I never put it together that our beloved Yussif could be (totally must be) Joseph of Arimathea! You guys are GOOD!
Ha ha! I had the same reaction at the end. It was too short! Seven years, folks! :)
The Good News of the Kingdom
Love to listen to you guys, Wish you will cover the whole episode. God bless!
I'll be anxiously awaiting the Grafted Reaction video to S3E5!! Oh wait, the Bible says 'be anxious for nothing!' So, I'll be patiently waiting... =)

Amen! Exactly my story! Amen!🙏✝️♥️
Make sure to test everything with scripture. This is a
m o v i e not true exactly with the bible. It's important to remember that.
There is no Veronica in the Bible. It isn’t a Hebrew or Aramaic name.
@@maggiegarber246 you're right it is greek for true icon. The Bible was written in greek - the Septuagint during the early church.

Always look forward to these! They're the best of both worlds -- educational and entertaining. Love it!
Praise be Jesus for healing and deliverance till today! Love this episode!

Nice addition to the discussion, thank you.
I did not realize she was Veronica !! So glad to realize it :)
Eden: Notice anything different?
Me: Never ask a man that question.
It was the Best Episode yet, but I say that about all of them. God Bless You All
Thank you and God Bless

"Veronica" is the Latin version of the Greek "Berenice/Berenike".
That Name is in the Bible and the meaning is "Bearer of Victory".
There's also Victoria
It was because of your Veronica video that I really wanted The Chosen to portray her touching the tzitzi! I was so happy when they did! Only wish they had tied it to Malici
Yes! Healing in His Wings!!
I thought of that too, but maybe it would have been too cumbersome to weave in that reference 🤔
@@edmundphilipburke Maybe. They have to make a lot of choices and I really loved the scene!

This was so powerful!!
Wow good way to put that, a shift in authority from religious leaders to the apostles. Never thought of it in that way.
You're like the religious version of Good Mythical Morning! I love it!
It's Yosef's and Jairus' epiphonic moment.
Tamar is right there with Mary when she speaks, her come back is on point too....
Finally !
A channel/ministry that uses His correct Hebrew name.

I always look forward to 'rewatching' the episode with you both! Your 'lightbulb' moments are hilarious in this episode 😂😂😂: about Rabbi Youssif (of Arimathea... I've been sure of it since the middle of Season 2 😉), about Veronica and how the rabbi's droning about 'discharge' earlier in the episode foreshadows her, etc. I also watched the Veronica video, and cracked up on Sam's reaction upon finding what the early church tradition named the woman with the issue of blood:
Tom: "They called her Veronica"
Sam: "Na-ah! ... You're serious? .... Andrew's sister, Vanessa"
🤣
Love you guys I learned so much.... I love your comments on the Chosen....
I so enjoy this series.
Great discussion as usual!!!!!
So that's why the Veronica name sounds familiar.. I watched your Veronica video so way back 😆
Love both of you! I'm enjoying being surprised along with you At 31:00 you might want to correct the spelling of Acts. ("Atcs" 5:38-39)
This reaction was brilliant and so funny. Thank you.
Every spirit filled Protestant church has "professional exorcists" called deliverance ministries. There are entire churches dedicated to deliverance.
This shows the power of God!!
The name Veronica is from the 5th or 6th C, when a copy of an ikon of the Face of Christ came to Italy. It was called "Vera IKona" - 'True Image' -- but 'EIKON' is Greek, not Latin, so it was somewhat mangled in common speech. It became 'Ver-onica. Then it sounded like a woman's name, so the story managed to provide an explanation for a Woman having a perfect Image of Christ's Face upon a Cloth. This particular thing is likely the Image now at Manopello, in the Appenines, east of Rome. It is on a piece of 'byssos' cloth, made of the fine, translucent fibers, finer than spider's webbing, but spun into strong threads. It was "Royal Cloth" & mentioned even on the Rosetta Stone. See the book by Paul Badde, a German researcher, who interviews one of the last living
weavers of this amazing cloth.
Thanks for bringing forward the names of Rabbis Shammai and Hillel and Gamaliel.
I think Matthew said...."OUT OF HIM"
I just LOVE you guys!!!
"Super Lit!!"I love how you yell and sink in your chair.....
I think Yosef is Joseph of Arimathea
Yusef is Joseph of Arimathea imo
Love love love the reactions of both of you
