  • How to set the correct chain tension what happens if you don't.
I'll be demonstrating it on the STIHL ms261c with a 16'' light04 bar.
    Spoiler alert!
Chainsaw chain tension is a hard sentence... especially if you're not from an English speaking country ;)

Yo, Felixia do you have any tips for when to change out an old chain to a new one? I've got a couple chains with just a few teeth wore down close to the angle mark but other teeth on the chains are fine. How do I know when to junk it? Make a video on that please. Thanks in advance. 😉

I noticed people had complained that there battery on the 161T did not last long, yet to find that proper tension on the chain that the battery lasts, but also the cutting action of the electric chainsaw is about speed and letting a sharp chain do the work rather then push it forward, if you do push down too hard the chain stops as there is probably a electronic sensor stoping it in order to protect the motor, batteries, chain and bar, as we are not using as much toque like a gas powered chainsaw yet more speed, but this seems to result in a longer lasting sharp chain, and more accuracy to smooth pruning cuts. where as trying to push a chainsaw blade on a gas saw because it also has a bit more torque just wears the chain faster, and thus less work gets done with less sharpening, but it takes about a month of continual use of a electric chainsaw to adapt to its potential.

  • @davesfarmforestvideos8395

On some saws the chain gets tighter when you tighten the bar nuts. I also like to rotate the chain by hand to see if there is a tight spot. I try to get the chain adjusted so it is not too tight in the tightest spot and not too loose. You are also supposed to break in a new chain running it for 3 minutes with no load. It gets a little messy, but gets the chain warm and oiled.
