    I personally been through this, anytime I read about symptoms . For some weird reasons, they manifest. At some point I’m waiting for the symptoms to show up for my personal diagnosis! Really sucks😒

    Here's one for ya! I was having a real stomach knots issue, I get it everytime I'm HUGELY stressed, then eventually it will disappear.
    Recently I was on my way to the gym.....couldn't shake the stomach knot.....I decided to experiment with my thoughts.
    Instead of dwelling on what the stomach pain could be, i decided to think "Ok...but my chest doesn't feel tight! That's a relief, I'm able to breathe freely..." And I felt the tension slide up from my stomach and restrict my chest. I KID YOU NOT.
    Around 10 mins later after dealing with this restricted feeling....I decided again to think to myself: "Ok, but my stomach knot has gone! That's good"...and I swear....the tension creeped right back down into my stomach 😡
    I've never felt such a first hand confirmation of somatic symptoms. I hope this knowledge helps someone! ❤❤

    Oh wow this has turned a light on for me..this has been happening to me too lately..and yes it DEFINITELY correlates to my reading about symptoms! Or even just other knowledge about a particular disease.
    I have heard that medical doctors when in med school and studying different diseases - some of them start to actually manifest the symptoms of those diseases they are studying!
    So there is definitely something in this for sure!

    I can relate to this so much.. especially the part about your body subconsciously remembering something you read about or thought a few times and then it acts out. I've had quite a few different obsessions including my intestines and digestive system, my sleeping position (massively affected sleep) and losing hair. I really do believe that worrying about these body parts can contribute to creating symptoms that are similar. Brings me a lot of relief to know that I'm not alone in this.

    My mate had a blood clot in his leg for awhile and was given blood thinning medication. Somehow it managed to stop his heart and he couldnt be saved in time and he passed away.. Ive had bad anxiety ever since and always stress over minor symptoms, exactly the same as you mention. But learned to not worry about it, because you really are ok but just convincing yourself that youre not.

    I can so relate to this. I've had the lot. I've had something minor like a pain in my leg which has manifested to me thinking I have full blown bone cancer. Its crazy. Its so nice to be able to relate. I don't know anyone personally who feels as bad as I do. Everyone obviously worries about their health but mine is obsessive. I'm also from Cardiff 🙂

    I really appreciate all of your perspective on this issue.
    As a health anxiety suffer myself I know how difficult it can be to not give in to temptation to research symptoms, medical information Etc. I often think how much simpler things would be if the internet did not exist, lol.
    Personally if I am able to stay away from doing research ( I have found for me that not knowing also creates anxiety but is more manageable than trying to disprove something that I think I have- through more research) overtime I do begin to feel better. Focusing on the external world and not my little internal world is also a strategy that I use. Along with banging my head on a wall.. just kidding, of course . Here's to us overthinkers!

    Feel your pain with this one!! Since march this year i've been certain i have MS. It started as a nose twitch the doctor said i had sinus inflamation (after my 3rd visit to him that is) so this totally knocked my confidence in the GP because why didn't he pick that up on mu first visit ??? Anyway... nose twitch kicked off the HA and now i get muscle twitches all over and lately i've had this buzzing/vibration in mu left foot, which is apparently common in anxiety sufferers but my brain wont allow me to accept that instead i'm confident i have MS. Ive been so focused on my let foot as well though after hearing about someones MS diagnosis story after a buzzing in his left foot... so this shit got me fucked up. Im so done with it all. But the more i tell myself im done the more i then focus on my symptoms and sensations arrrgggghhhhh.

      My mum has MS for the last 12 years and she kicks it's ass every year. She never had tingling or numbness. Instead after my sister was born her foot would flop while she was walking. She never googled it and caused herself anxiety like we do. Instead when she was diagnosed she decided to learn how to drive. Thank God she's not in a wheel chair and I swear when she goes out shopping its like she's cured. You more than likely don't have MS and thank God there is so much they can do for you these days in terms of MS.

    • @mattblahblah9228
      @mattblahblah9228 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I know this comment is while ago, but how are you doing now? I'm convinced I have MS as I have muscle twitching quite often atm and it's horrible with my anxiety. I think I may have seen the same story you were referring to because as soon as I heard about the leg thing I have been fixating on my left leg and now I have started to feel the buzzing/vibration on and off. I try and convince myself that it's all in my head, but then I get a voice in my head saying "what if it's not, maybe this is the one time you're wrong".

    • @tamfrnz
      @tamfrnz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mattblahblah9228 im doing much much better now... the muscle twitching isn't anywhere near as bad as it used to be. The buzzing foot is no longer a concern either. Infact just the other day I had a chuckle with my partner about how my brain was literally creating that symptom... It's crazy! The buzzing foot, at the time, was my biggest issue and so i was constantly focusing on it which heightened the sensation even more (thats if there was even a sensation there in the first place) I'm still battling HA though and unfortunately i have some bad days, but for the majority of the time i think i have it under control. If I can suggest one thing it would be to speak to someone if you can. I got CBT therapy and just speaking to someone helped me a lot. My CBT sessions came to an end though and I was still experiencing some symptoms so i spoke to my GP about medication which im currently taking and have been the past 2 months or so. Medication isn't for everyone though and I was very much against it but I dont think I'd be where i am just now without it. If there's anything else i can help you just let me know!

    I’ve been having problems speaking as well lately. I find that when I try to explain/describe something, I just can’t find the words and I suddenly lose the ability to form a flippin sentence! Like the other day, I was trying to tell my mum about how the iPhone can put your photos into a slideshow with music in the background but I bizarrely just couldn’t think of how to say it. It’s incredibly worrying!! I was going “Errrr.....it’s um.....” and not making sense in what I was saying, stuttering a lot as well.
