    It's funny how one year ago everyone was saying that you should distribute your protein intake evenly by citing the Yasuda study from 2020. Now everyone seems to have completely forgotten about that study since Trommellen et al showed that "100 g protein results in a greater and more prolonged anabolic response when compared to the ingestion of 25 g protein".

    If ahwaganda reduces stress and high stress reduces testosterone levels, wouldn't it make sense that ashwaganda could boost testosterone for people that are experiencing high levels of stress (like dads with little kids :))

    Still a fact that boosting your test inside the normal range does close to nothing for your fitness goals, as long as you already were inside a healthy range.
    Yeah you might a tiny bit feel better, but it's not as if you are on low dose gear now.
    That is something health gurus like Huberman don't tell you when they plug their products.

    • @DILFDylF
      @DILFDylF 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Technically, lengthened partials also do close to nothing for fitness goals. It's an increase of what, 5 to 10 percent? 5% more muscle gain is not noticeable. But it's still worth talking about, and still better than not getting it.
      Who's to say a 5 to 1p percent increase in test isn't the same?

    • @zacharylaschober
      @zacharylaschober 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DILFDylFoutcome data on testosterone increases would say those 5-10% increases have no influence on strength, body composition, and similar, whereas lengthened partials increasing muscle gain by this 5% is an outcome. No one wants higher testosterone for the sake of higher testosterone, and there are such a mass of mechanisms which occur to produce and make use of testosterone and other hormones where small changes do not appear to be significant.
      Do these supplements work atop increases in sleep quality or caloric surpluses? Do these supplements work long term, with other supplements, and in ways which do not reduce the body otherwise producing the same outcome? Is this measure enough to see a significant outcome of what we are trying to influence?
      It is interesting and needs more research, cause if you could get 5-10% more from five or six supplements long term with no side effects and this meant a lot of small benefits... amazing. However, just being 5-10% increases, and this is a "maybe", isn't worth the potential distraction.

      If you're dealing with anxiety and because of ashwaganda you end up sleeping better and resting more profoundly, it could definitely act as an indirect testosterone boost. I'd say it's something that should be tried individually as stress is such a personal thing.

    Really irresponsible advice on ashwaghanda here especially given how meh the anxiolytic effects are compared to both the bevy of interactions it has with other medicines and the lack of any kind of massive longterm RCTs documenting side effects. The quality of SBS content really is showing signs of going downhill.

      It's probably one of the most researched herbs out there, maybe only second to ginseng, and actually seems to have more consistent effects compared to ginseng. And if you're trying to combine herbs while already taking pharmaceuticals then you have a totally different critical thinking problem that those won't solve. And you'd be hard pressed to find any studies longer than 16 weeks in humans for most herbs, but plenty of reports online of people taking something for at least a year.
