    If the sensors are coked up bad then the entire inlet manifold system and egr needs to come off and be sonic cleaned and the inlet valve intakes blasted clean. Coked up sensors is just the tip of the iceberg. This needs to be done every 60k kms with these engines, as per the new service update release from Mazda in 2023. Congratulations all Mazda diesel engine owners, Mazda has made a lemon that you need to spend multiple thousands of dollars on every 60k kms.

      Thank you for the blessing.
      Fortunately, in Japan, we can clean the intake pipe at several auto repair shops that are not Mazda. The cost is $400-800.
      The problem that occurs in the CX5 is not a unique problem. It is a problem that occurs in engines equipped with a direct injection system.
      The mechanic said that the CX5 should be blessed with the high engine mounting position, the large space around the intake pipe, and the good workability. He said that if the same work is done on a Toyota Hiace van, the work time and steps will increase and the cost will double.
      The soot problem has been significantly improved in the 2018 and later KF-type CX5, 190 horsepower model, and my car was not a problem even with 194,800 km.
      In my case, I live in Hokkaido, so the road conditions are similar to North America, so there are fewer soot problems.
      I will make a video of the intake pipe cleaning I did in April 2024 soon.

    What kind of faults can this cause when it has a lot of carbon?

      I don't think that a warning would go off for this amount of soot in the cx5. In fact, I've never had a warning go off for soot clogging.

    Did the IAT sensor cleaning improve how the car runs? I noticed my car runs rougher when accelerating on cold weather but idle is very smooth.

      Have you ever replaced the ATF? What is your current mileage?

    • @kristizh4443

      @@4614 Hello,
      Thank you. Yes I have replaced the ATF and filter. The car currently has 140k km, I do ATF oil changes twice every 60k km.
      Average consumption is 6.6l/100km, mostly in town driving plus autobahn (125-140km/h).
      I notice the car runs rough when accelerating on cold temperatures and I am not sure if that is due to the injectors or the air/fuel ratio getting out of spec due to carbon in the intake (egr cooler probably somewhat clogged etc.)
      By the way, how often does yours do a dpf regeneration?

    • @4614
      @4614  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kristizh4443 I change the ATF twice a year, once every 20,000 km, with 3.6L. The oil I've been using recently is made by Aisin, and although I don't think it's bad, I don't have a good impression of it. It's 20L, so it will take a while to use it up.
      The DPF regeneration frequency is once every 253.5 km, and the number of DPF regenerations so far is displayed as 880. As of October 28, the mileage is 223,136 km.
      When the CX5 is driven at 120 km or more, the fuel adjustment enters the output priority area, and soot is generated.
      I don't think the road conditions in Germany and Hokkaido are similar, but based on your average fuel consumption in urban areas, fuel consumption may worsen around 180,000 to 200,000 km.
      Cleaning the soot from the intake pipe brings the air-fuel ratio closer to the optimum and reduces soot generation. The DPF regeneration distance of my CX5 has increased since cleaning it.

    Which spray did you use for cleaning the map sensor?

    • @4614
      @4614  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for watching.
      Frtst time I used brake cleaner spray & CRC Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner.
      But now I using an alkaline detergent.
      After soaking for a few minutes, the hardened carbon will soften.

      What the torque that you use to tighten back those nuts?
