There's a reason we all love Joe. It's because he is awesome. He works so hard, he is humble and seems like a genuine guy. This many people can't be wrong Joe. You rock. You must be excited to see the 401 getting slowly finished. And man you would have to be proud of the role you've played in that.

@@notfiveo Some componants will receive a non distructive inspection, when performing periodic maintenance. There are several types of non distructive inspections, some use a magneting flux with a green flourecant die, some use X-ray as your friend said.
On military planes, the landing gear struts get pulled off, stripped down, and tested for small cracks. Flat parts, such as the skin can get X-rayed. Expensive jet engine componants often get mag-fluxed.

Guys, I think that I've been watching from the beginning, but I have not made any comments. I would like to say that I think that this is wonderful. I have always loved aviation and I always wanted to learn how to fly. But I think that has gone by the way at this point in my life. I do however enjoy seeing a beautiful aircraft come back to life again. It appears to me that you are all the most amazing people. Although I have never met any of you I feel like you are all my friends. I watch you work so hard on this project and give your talents to this plane. You are all very talented and I love watching things get done. As for Joe I really like him. He is delightful to watch use his skill to make this plane be reborn. I don't think that I am able to express my delight watching you all work on the 401 as well as I'd like. Thank you so very much for sharing this great project with all of us. I hope that I can see the final reveal when you get this finished! I must say that I am very excited to see this plane fly again. So, stay safe and have fun! I will be watching .

Paint stripping hack: put thin plastic sheet like visqueen on top of your stripper and let it cook. The absence of air will supercharge your stripper and it will go down through all the layers of paint, straight to bare metal in one application. Plus the stripped paint pulls off with the plastic.

Watching you and Joe's meticulous attention to detail (MATD) reminds me of a TV commercial I saw many years ago. A master craftsman and his apprentice were making musical instruments, and the apprentice wanted to know why they were doing so much extra work:
Apprentice: "Master, why do we work so hard on things no one can see? If we didn't do this, who would know?"
    Craftsman: "We would know!"
    Gentlemen, you are master craftsmen!

There is also another reason to go the extra mile. They will be as much as a couple of miles high in this thing, and by going the extra mile, it helps keep it from going oops and falling those couple of miles.
In rebuilding something like this, you really can't go too far or be too careful.

I am certainly hoping I can make Oshkosh when you guys compete the 401. Best of luck in all you gentleman endeavor and by Gods grace may you persevere. Joe you are the man my friend.

I follow this amazing restoration work you guys are doing since the first video. It feels like I'm a part of it and can't wait to see it finished. Great job! As I pilot, it's an amazing feelling to see an airplane ressurection coming back from death. You guys got all my respect. Well done!

There is nothing more valuable than having a hard worker on your team. Anyone that has lead a team into a battle or into a situation like hell, will take a hard worker over anyone else.

I would like to say just how thankful I am for the work you are doing - it was and still is one of the main reasons why I decided to start restoring old aircraft here in Britain (things like vampires and sea venoms). The primer which was on the 401 seems to come off really easily in the video - I spent a whole summer trying to scrape off etching primer from a sea venom fuel tank! Keep up the great work

Love Joe, he is a hard worker and he knows his stuff. I love a guy who you don’t have to spoon feed on how to do something. We all know he has never worked on airplanes before but it never phases him. Good luck Joe and Rebuild Rescue.
