Good one mate. It's looking schmick. 👍 My BFG KO2s are exactly the same size tyres that you have (285/75/16). For me, 33's are ideal for my use. I don't need 35's. As for the Landcruiser handbrakes, I hate confirming the stereotype but I get nightmares with my 80 Series' handbrake. 😲😁
If you've got a GPS try it out and you'll find at 110kph you'll be going a lot faster if your Speedo was correct in the first place, the revs and the Speedo basically work together and won't change with different tyre sizes. The GPS looks at time x actual distance working out speed. When I put 33"s on mine I had a 9km(9%) discrepancy, as it happened the Speedo was always 9km fast so after fitting the tyres it was actually accurate. The same thing happens when you put a higher diff ratio in. Most speedometers read faster than the cars actual speed usually 4 to 5 km/h. Keeps people honest!?? But just in case it could cost you some speeding tickets.
Cheers mate, they went well, ive ran a few sets, few to many sidewall punctures, some though were because I was running a rim a little to narrow. These were made in USA, I'm on to Toyos now which I've ran in the past.

From what ive heard, arb bullbar and factory toyota bar only had to be trimmed if running 35s on a 2inch lift. Factory lift and 33s no need 👍🤙 merry Christmas btw mate! Also, are there plans on getting a 3" exhaust?
Yeah for sure mate, I've definitely seen some blokes trim the bar and take rear mudguard off for 33, but yeah not necessary. Thanks mate! Merry Xmas to you to. I think I have to right? Haha but it'll most likely be Torqit's 3.5 dpf back exhaust. They sound pretty nice even with dpf.

Yeah I've touched on this in later episodes mate, there's has been some 285's approved for a 7 inch rim. I ran into sidewall punctures way to often with this set up, my rig gets used primarily out bush. Best to go to an 8 inch rim width imo, I guess you could go wider but I don't like the look. Cheers
Nice rig mate, will those front flares fit on the new troopy? Pick mine up in a couple of days but no one has flares available yet, stuck with skinnys until I flare the guards
I've had a full set of the radars on my 4wd and they were the worst set of tyres I've had by far. They were the a/t not the m/t but they lasted no more than 20k. Sailun or nankang are a really good cheaper tyre. 👍
Did the tyre shop say anything about the the Toyota GXL alloy 16x7" rims and the 285/75R16 tyre allegedly needing a 7.5" - 9" wide rim? I'm running Toyo AT2;s 285/75R16 on 7" wide ROH Trak 2 rims & have had no issues but the bloke at one tyre shop reckons with the 7" rims the tyre can & will crack in between the side tread blocks.
Interesting mate, we will see what happens, we had a brief chat and I said I want them let's fit them. So it was all on me. I've seen 305's on these rims... I wouldn't do that but hey.
Yes, good point mate. I didn't think about that at the time, most people say that the speedo reads true on 33's. I'll have to get a gps accurate reading and check revs, i pinned a comment in regards to this, thankyou.
The bigger tyres keep the ks down on the odometer as well. Drive 1000 actual km and only add 950 to odometer. Dorsnt sound much but may inprove resale fractionally.
@@chrisgregory4796 I checked my Landcruiser VDJ79R with 285/75R16 tyres against the 5 kilometer speedo check on the highway & it clicked over exactly at each kilometer marker.
