In this video I demonstrate how to use a bottle stopper mandrel. if you're using inserts or threading the blank with the mandrel make sure to use the tailstock it will give you the best results.

Followed your previous video on inserts. Yesterday. Then tooday mounted it on the lathe and gorilla glue bond wasn't strong enough. I could stop the blank very easily. Managed to turn it with really light cuts. Then reglued the insert.

Hi Rick, I talked to Ruth she has always used TiteBond II and says it works very well. I would give that a try.

What do you use to glue the insert in ?

Hi Richard, sorry for the late reply. I use 5 min epoxy.
