So far (and I look at TH-cam far too much) the best explanation and depiction of a modern cartridge I've seen presented. Well done.
Altogether a very good presentation. Quite informing and not too deep in 'jargon'.

Seriously good! I’m an American and this Brit has a better knowledge of firearms than the gun owners (including myself)! It’s a true gem in the haystack!

This needs more views. I am glad I was searching for “invention of modern bullet”, so I found this. Great video!

We really are curious eh. I came from history of firearms to cartridges and bullets

As some of you eagle eyed viewers may have noticed some of the ammunition on screen isn’t quite what it seems.
As you should be able to tell from my voice, I’m English, and whilst firearms are far from banned, they are stringently controlled, and I don’t have a firearms licence.
This means that I can’t legally possess ammunition, so I’ve had to do a little fakery. The Centrefire cartridges that you see on screen are real in a sense, except, they’ve been fired.
They are just a brass case, and a bullet, they have no propellant, and the primer has been fired.
The musket ammunition is entirely faked. The musket ball is a lead slingshot ball, the cloth patch is just a piece of cloth that I’ve cut up, and the “black powder” is actually the waste products from a wood burning stove.
In non-covid times I probably would have been able to film more of the real deal, but I don’t feel it detracts from the video.

Your recreation is pretty good. It get's the idea across. Just about every close up shot of food in commercials is fake but they get the idea across. So you're in good company.

You forgot to mention about brass cartridges , at one time copper was used, making the shell too soft to extract, leading to jams

Nitrocellulose is easier if you use the flash paper method.
Potassium nitrate + Sulphuric Acid + cotton
Basically black powder, but a little cleaner and everything besides the cotton can be harvested from your toilet

The fact that they were literally staring the center fire cartridge in the face with the one rifle, breach loading with a percussion cap, I mean just find a way to stick it on the back of the round of ammo that you already put in the back of the gun.

You really did your research 🧐 I’m rather impressed I own several firearms modern and historical and I am in college classes for the science and technology of firearms but this is very accurate and correct I couldn’t have done a better job myself great examples and animations! If you ever visit America you should visit me I’d love for you to meet the rest of my class and show your video to them!

I dissagree blackpowder needs a longer barrel for its slower burn and gas pressure rate.
You simply use less and it fixes the issue or pistols and my 28 inch barrel jaeger would not work.
Factor rifling in as this greatly helps pressure to rise.

Dumbest way to load a magazine- remove rounds from stripper clip and place into magazine 👌 stripper clips are designed to strip into magazines….. bloody germans being uncommonly inefficient lol
