      Most pilots, in my experience anyway, seem very nostalgic about the 767, and say it was their favorite airplane. Of course, United still flies them, and I think they’re so comfortable for the passengers, despite the relative lack of sophistication.

      I concur .UAL A&P SFOMM service center .60's and 70's B727 seemed technologically advanced for that day and age

      you are a real pilot then, too much automation now, i wanted to be a commercial pilot in 1995, i almost got my private pilot license but money ran out, the owner of the school is a retired american airlines a300 captain( Richard Green), nowadays pilot dont have to do anything

      @@franklintejeda3472not true. Respectfully, though work load has definitely decreased and many systems and processes have been developed to alleviate pilot work load, pilots still hold lots of knowledge, and are trained to fly safely and are also trained to handle emergency situations. Technology has advanced so far that it makes pilotting look easy. However autopilot is only an aid in navigation, and all pilots right mowing most likely already learned to fly with and without autopilot. Autopilot has existed for a long time as well i believe. So no need to try to look down on pilots. Pilots are paid for the knowledge they hold in weather, characteristics of aircraft, aerodynamics, psychological sciences, but also the skills they hold in maneuvering the aircraft.

    I’ve been going in the cockpit during boarding and disembarking since 1985 and yes I’ve been in the 787 cockpit. The pilots love chatting with me and vice versa. It sounds like this plane is going from Chicago to LAX which is a route I’ve flown many times.

    Awesome video. One of my aunts lives across the freeway from O'Hare. One of the runways is inline with her street. We used to visit her once a summer each year and one of my favorite things to do was to sit in the driveway and watch jets come in to land. Back then, it was one plane every 60 seconds around the clock. I think they may alternate runways now to give the neighborhood a bit of a rest but it was pure heaven for me. ❤

    I prefer dual control of the aircraft. Electronic and manual just in case you need back up

    • @TenMinuteTrips
      @TenMinuteTrips 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @mobidick6064 I’m not sure what your issue is. All commercial aircraft have dual control capabilities. On a typical flight, there is a pilot flying and a pilot monitoring. The pilot monitoring does the radio work, landing gear extension or retraction, flap position manipulation and button pushing for navigation. The captain sits in the left seat and the first officer sits in right seat. Seniority, and thus experience, earns the left seat. That said, the captain is not always the pilot flying. If the right seat person always just sat there, they would never gain experience. Also, automation has greatly reduced human error and reduced pilot workload. Flying is safer as a result.

    • @mobidick6064
      @mobidick6064 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TenMinuteTrips yes I'm aware of this to a greater degree. What I'm asking is if all the electronics stopped working, would you be able to know the altitude, speed etc and more importantly land the plane?

    • @CoasterGuy787
      @CoasterGuy787 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@mobidick6064 If you lose "all" electrics, you will lose all the instruments and control of the engines (for those that have FADEC). That means no more altitude, engine control or speed information from the cockpit. You'd be pretty much screwed. That applies for all airliners today, not just the 787. You'd be screwed. As for flight controls, if you lose literally all electricity on the 787, A380 and A350 (all 3 did away with mechanical backup and have only electrical backup), you're doomed as you'll lose all the flight controls, regardless if you have all hydraulic systems (btw all 3 can fly with total hydraulic systems failure due to electro mechanical/hydraulic actuators to power some flight controls). There is risk in aviation and nothing is ever 100% foul proof. That's why there's alot of redundancy to keep the odds of complete failure as low as possible. We have to accept that. I'd be more worried of loss of all hydraulic systems than electrics. Speaking of loss of electrics, the last aircraft I'd expect to lose all is the 787. After studying the systems, the electrical redundancy is extremely high with so many generators and batteries, more than all other airliners to the point you have a better shot of losing all your hydraulics or engines than all electrics at once.

    Prawie wszystko jest wyświetlane elektronicznie. Mam nadzieję, ze nigdy nie wysiądzie zasilanie tych wyświetlaczy, bo co wtedy będą wiedzieć i widzieć piloci, chyba tylko to co za oknem?....

      Agreed! Best case scenario when main systems go out is that the pilots have their ipads for navigation, as well as a non-electricity powered altimeter and artificial horizon.

    Isn't the a350 cockpit more advanced?

    • @RomeoJulietCharlie
      @RomeoJulietCharlie ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s certainly more ergonomic. The Airbus systems are also better laid out on the overhead panel and the pedestal, but both are pretty advanced flight decks. Incidentally, Airbus also have far comfier seats in the flight deck! The 787 is still an excellent aircraft.

      A Boeing deixa a tecnologia apoiar o homem. A Airbus põe o homem para assistir a tecnologia trabalhar ou seja faz o homem ter papel secundário, por isso que os Airbus parecem ter os painéis com menos detalhes e mais limpos.
