I hope they spend a bit more time in season 2 showing how Vi deals with her own trauma. It was there in season 1 but, not at the forefront like Jinx. And Vi's had to deal with so much in her own right.

@@jamesliggins891 actually they showed? Not all people experience and deal to trauma the same as Jinx. Vi is an example of how strong people deal with trauma. Jinx is an example of weak people. I'm not saying having mental illness is a weakness. But people who have emotional and mental strength will struggle a lot.

@@Vizible21 that's what I thought, in fact Vi is the character that impressed me the most because although she has been through a lot she really tries to stay strong dealing at the same time with her own trauma and the mission to recover her sister and save her people.
When Silco was ignored by Jinx listening to her own theme song ('Get Jinxed'), he stopped the music right before she sings "Right now I am feeling ignored".

To clarify, Viktor is implied to be the same age or only slightly older than Jayce, he’s just very sick (of you look at him from episode 3 to 4 you can see that his skin has become sallow and he needs a crutch now instead of his cane) so he looks must worse for being the same age
A lot of people ntice he switched to a crutch from his cane but seem to forget that's partly because his cane got broken when they used it to bar the door during their first hextech experiment in ep 3. When Heimer and the guards break in the door to find Jayce and Viktor floating, they have to break Viktor's cane to do it.
I absolutely adore the violins that play when Jinx starts shooting at people. They are hauntingly beautiful.

This is the first reaction channel I’ve seen actually recognize the parallels between Silco and Vander & Powder and Vi. There was a lot to that moment when Powder jumps into Silco’s arms - Silco glancing over at lifeless Vander, eyes widening as Powder says that her sister isn’t her sister anymore. So many reaction channels had the same knee-jerk reaction: “Oh no he’s going to corrupt her. This is how she turns evil. He’s going to groom her into a weapon.” Though the latter has some validity, it’s important to recognize that Silco saw parts of him in young Powder.

How much you immediately feel with all the characters, how much it hurts you to see how much the cute and creative little girl changed into a killing machine toying around with high grade explosives. That's what i'm here for.
Also thanks so much for taking the time at the start to continue talking about ep3 after your outro was cut short on the last episode and much of the time was spent (understandably) purely in shock.

Hello! To clarify the time skip.
Its not confirmed how long it was, but most people think it's been about 7 years. Jinx is about 17 years old. Vi and Caitlyn are both around 22 years old ish. Jayce and Viktor are 31 (Viktor might be a little older) and Mel Medarda is their age or a little older.
Also I think most people agree that caitlyn and jayce are more like siblings/friends, since she was a child when he was 24 in the begining of the show.
Edit: people mentioned a tweet from a writer below. The writer says vi and cait 14-16 Jinx 11-12. Then time skip 6-7 years. Do your own math with that one. But consider the slight ambiguity (LM are already past this, so this is for yall viewers)

@@iFlickdown I think Jayce is the only one I got really accurate. (assuming that the time skip was 7 years) jayce is the only one I think that they actually say his age during the show. In the first act he says he is 24 years old. I hope this helps!

I jus cant get over the heartbreak in your faces when Jinx/Powder is on screen. Her shift to a villain is so severe compared to her childhood. I love her in this show.
Arcane may not be a "fun" or "joyous" experience per se, but it is nevertheless an exhilarating one. It is a tragedy, plain and simple. But it is drenched in so much authentic humanity that it allows us to connect with it on a profoundly deep level and come away feeling like we've witnessed something truly special. It is a treasure, and a masterpiece, and it leaves its mark on you. I guarantee you won't regret having watched it.
Can we acknowledge Mel's manipulation power? She tries to convince Jayce to show the tech at the Progress Day, and she fails. Then after Jinx's attack, when Jayce is vulnerable and says he takes responsibility for losing the gemstone, it was the perfect moment for her to get revenge, to have him banned or something. But no, she uses the moment to do the exact opposite, she promotes him to her level. This move absolutely gains his trust, and ensures she has a tool on her side by which she can combat Heimerdinger, as a scientist.
I mean, I do genuinely think she has the hots for him too. The looks she gives him are pretty intense.
The theatre scene with her and jayce in ep 7 reminded me of palpatine when he manipulated anakin while watching a play at a theatre (also piltover seems similar to coruscant, huge metropolis with dark parts down under)
She absolutely played everyone on this episode. She not only used the occasion to gain an ally in the council, she knew Heimerdinger would be proud of Jayce's choice, so he was the perfect person to second her motion. Thus, she directs the conversation towards Heimerdinger... and he plays right into her hand and seconds the motion.
i don't think she did that to gain jayce's trust. it's more so that he would be dependent on her since he didn't want to be a counselor, and that way she can use him more easily

34:40 FMAB has the perfect ballance, it's a tragic story at the beggining, but you'll get both wholesome and sad moments combined with a really well written plot, characters and mystery
I mean Berserk or Vinland Saga is better funwise, they are pretty wholesome storys
I would say FMAB and AoT are in their own realm of incredible story and well written characters in anime.

the sheer joy I felt seeing them call out Violyn immediately, so the rest of the series is gonna be a treat
also, regardless of whether there is an age difference btw Jayce and Mel (speculated that Mel is only a few years older than Jayce), there is still a power dynamic between them where Mel is initially trying to use/manipulate Jayce (also headcanon Jayce is a bisexual disaster)
Your reaction to Jinx/Powder's instability was about the same as mine, people may have responded in shock, bewilderment, even humor. My reaction was complete and total heartbreak. This character spoke to me and made me feel in ways few characters can, I've always had a huge soft spot for tragic and broken characters but Arcane is unique in that it shows you what the character was like before the world broke them, usually with a broken or tragic character you only hear what they've been through via exposition, dialogue from the character him/herself, or flashbacks, here you LIVE their backstory, you're a part of it as much as they are, so when the fall inevitably does happen, the pain and anguish is all the more amplified.
I've made the comparison before, but it's like watching the Star Wars Prequels FIRST, along with The Clone Wars animated series, the story is sad enough if you've already watched the OT. With watching the backstory first, you get to see Anakin Skywalker as a small and innocent little boy grow into one of the biggest and baddest villains the galaxy has ever seen.
It took them 2 seasons to feel really bad for Azula. It took them 4 episodes to feel just as bad for Powder.
That’s cause they showed Powder’s/Jinx’s trauma way sooner and they also saw Powder before she became a killer
FMAB is a middle ground between Trauma and Wholesomeness. It hurts you and it heals you too xD
You two are one of the only ones that were sad when Jinx first appeared and started killing the fire lights. Most were like "whooo, go get em girl, you've grown so much!" But you two understood the sadness and immorality of the situation. That she went from an innocent little girl to a crazed murderer.

edit: forgot to mention, but i caught the way jinx talks to "the voices" is with a certain tone that conveys familiarity. like, she doesn't converse with them with the tone you use on strangers. which means that she probably talks to them on a regular basis. which then means that they are the closest thing jinx has to a friend

I think if they want a fun easy show with good emotional content and relationships they would love, I would sugguest Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid.
I love Silco's motivation in this. Its a good reversal of the typical rich bad guy and poor good guy.in this case the bad guy is the underdog trying to have something good for himself, and the hero is this powerful guy who invented magic and is way more fortunate than everyone
"how different she is" YES. That's exactly what I always say when someone says that Jinx exists because of Vi and that "Silco is a good father". Powder became Jinx after being under Silco's "care" for 6 years. She was not violent, she was not a psychopath, up to that point. Yes, she had mental problems, but they weren't as heightened as shown in this episode (and the following ones).

Fun fact; the flowers aren’t supposed to be a courting thing, these white flowers actually represent health as in “get well soon” because she was obviously injured by the explosion! They are in fact purely platonic and i actually really like their friendship!
Another fun fact; about the height situation, Caitlyn is actually 6ft tall, our tall queen! (I think this show is the first one where i actually kinda feel represented height wise, cause i’m 6ft myself and normally even the most badass female main characters are small-ish and thin and „tiny“ and then we have Cait with her 6ft and Vi who is absolutely jacked as she should be cause it makes so much sense and i just love it so much! This show in general has a lot of amazing, well written, interesting, diverse female characters and i am here for it and i’m obsessed)

FMA: Brotherhood is a ton of fun with a few pretty disturbing parts. But the majority of it is a lot of fun. Especially the relationship between the two main characters. Highly recommend.

If/when you watch FMA:Brotherhood, BEWARE EPISODE 11. My old yt channel (4 years ago) got a strike on that episode as it did again on my new reaction channel. Cursed episode delivers strikes. Great show overall, though.

The pink haired girl wasn't Vi, Jinx mistook her for Vi, as if she's haunted by her sister and sees her everywhere
I've seen so many reactors confused by the same scene for some reason. Like, the pink haired girl's face keeps shifting and changing between close-up shots to help the viewer realize what's going on, I thought it's obvious what the show is trying to portray.

@@purkkitron It's meant to be confusing and you're being barraged by a lot of new impressions in a stressful scene so i think that's to be excused. The time jump is significant enough that it can be hard to tell and i mean that's intentional because we see it through Jinx's eyes.
The show writers did good to clarify that it wasn't her in the dialogue with Silco and showing the real Vi at the end

Season 2 confirmed but nobody knows when. This season developed for 6 or 7 years now, so the next one we all hope that will be ready at least for 2023
About the time skip In 2nd episode we learnt that Jayce is 24 and 7 years passed (Someone from Arcane development team tweeted that) so right now Jayce is 31. Viktor is more likely same age maybe more, Mel (councelor lady) is also early30s because in of the following episodes you will learn that she was also young in 1st act. Cait is much younger than Jayce. We see that in 2nd episode where Caitlyn was carrying Jayce's scraps. Also Caitlyn is +/- Vi's age and both of them were teenagers in 1st act. Powder and the Ekko are also +/- the same age.
Seriously. I'd rather wait for 6 years for this level of quality than receive a mediocre product two years later

I'm glad they already have a nuanced opinion of Silco instead of just writing him off as a Disney villain. Riot and Fortiche have given us a very good cast. People need to appreciate the characters and their motivations instead of putting them in boxes.

A team-up of Markus and Vi could have been interesting, I never thought about that possibility before you mentioned it. I feel like their personalities would clash a lot and have a fascinating dynamic.
Eh, Markus is exactly what Vi imagines all enforcers are, and why she hates their guts. Cait ofcourse shows her they're not all like that but Markus? He is like that.

I'd say Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is a bit closer to Avatar in terms of tone compared to a lot of the other animated shows you've watched recently. There's still a lot of serious moments, but there's also a fair amount of lighthearted moments to ease the tension in the show. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Man they really need to watch it. High up there together with Aot. Such a beautiful, short and sweet story.
Full metal will always be my favorite but man arcane is giving it a run for it's money. Can't wait to see what the new season will be like. I wonder why they can't just have however many episode it takes to tell the story. The way FMAB does? 64 episodes was perfect. I'll take 60 episodes of arcane so long as their this awesome throughout.
@@mehim2893 As a league of legends player: it has a well written lore for the characters we already know because of the game, but with new information and the nice touch of New side characters like silco, sevika, vander etc. Who are not in the game. Plus the story obviously is well written with the wealthy vs unwealthy confrontation. A lot still has to happen tho, if we land up near the game lore, especially with viktor.

FMAB is a big story, but it’s my favorite anime of all time. Like ATLA, the first season is pretty light, and the writers balance humor and angst very well throughout the show. Plus, we get teenage, adult, and villain perspectives, which allows for a nice shift in tone from time to time. I think you guys will love it.
It's strange how this show managed to made us care so much about the characters so fast. Being heart broken after 3 episodes, they sure have set a new bar for me. I never watched reaction video before. But I need more Arcane.
Viktor is sick. It weakens him and he feels totally intimidated by the crowd. He said "not in front of... them", the same way one would talk about rabid dogs about to go for you throat at the first occasion. I think he is totally fine with not being under the spot.

Definitely agree with many here that Mob Psycho would be great for them and the 1 Series I really hope they get to react to one day is Haikyuu. They would Love and Adore Haikyuu to absolute pieces and it would be such a wonderful/comfy/Hype and joyful show for them. They would Literally call over 100 characters their babies/favorites with how huge and fantastic the Haikyuu Cast is.
Also I think Milena mentioned that she played Volleyball and Serbia in general is a great Volleyball nation.
I really hope they at least get to hear Haikyuu being recommended at some point and to at least consider it for a nice change of pace series to the heavier shows they normally react to :)

Mob Psycho is one of my all-time favorite anime and I agree it would be perfect for them. It still dives into the psychological stuff that Lola and Mileena love but presents a lot of it in humorous ways. They would LOVE Mob!
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is a story that overall is happy and makes you feel good watching it but it still has several dark moments that keep it from being as happy as Avatar tla or something like that. It’s definitely not as gruesome as Attack on Titan though.

Felt exactly like you two when I saw this episode. Jynx is a dynamic and fascinating character... But its _SO SAD_ to see all the ways the trauma affected and haunted powder.
This show does a great job at creating grey area around ever character. Ones you think are good can be bad and ones you think are bad sometimes have the best intentions.

Is FMA Brotherhood fun ? Haha yes sometimes it's really funny, then it can't last forever so it's very depressing too, also sometimes it makes you think about life and mankind, plus ost's are AMAZING, just watch it you won't regret i swear you're gonna love it !
Compared to Arcane, The Expanse is light as a cloud. It's a lot more optimistic show, and although it has some very dark moments it's relatively light.
Still very good, but it's not as heart-rending as Arcane.
Fun fact, if you've watched Game of Thrones, Viktor is voiced by the guy who played Viserys Targeryen, Khaleesi Daenerys' horrible brother from season 1.

Without spoiling anything Full Metal Alchemist is a story about Sacrifice, it's very emotional positive and negative. Which is why I think it's my favourite show it's not all bad all the time

Hexgates are another testament to how brilliant the writting and worldbuilding is in the show. When you get a source of power like what the gemstones provide there are three major ways to use it:
1. Transportation. Which they apparently did and it literally revolutionized the trade and put Piltover as a major player in a world.
2. Energy source for Industrial and Civilian application. Not quite there yet but this is exactly what Viktor and Jayce are trying to do with their portable Hextech devices.
3. Weapons. Possibly of mass destruction type since we know that they know that such thing is achievable through magic.
Besides the whole Hextech becomes a major thing in the plot precisely because it's a form of Industrial Revolution. And if history taught us anything is that this kind of revolution reshapes the entire world.
