I just got a 98 rm250 too restore I can get it to start within 3 kick every time but it wouldn’t idle at all I cleaned and rebuilt the carb now it’s leaking gas and I can’t figure out what to do with it any recommendations? Thanks!

Most likely a bad float needle or the float height is incorrectly set. Float height should be about 16mm. Pit Posse makes a nice tool to measure that.

Hey man, I’m trying to rebuild my 98 RM250, particularly the bottom end, but I cannot find any kits anywhere. Any chance you could point me in the right direction?

Cool! Yea, you can't buy any aftermarket kits like that for this year for some reason. Your best bet is to have the stock crank rebuilt with a Pro-X connecting rod. I sent this one to Ken O'Connor Racing in CT. Most the time I send my cranks to Crank Works in Tempe, AZ. Both are excellent. I used Pro-x Crank Bearing/Seal kit on this engine...same quality as OEM at half the price. Good luck!

I also am going to be rebuilding my 98 rm250. Police recovered it after it being stolen 15yrs ago. It's a half of motor. And missing almost everything. But the memories I had on this when I bought it brand new, just glad I was able to get it back.

useless video dont explain what special tools are needed just stupid music .waste of time for anyone trying to work on a very basic engine once you know what needs to be left on and what order parts need to be removed .the person following the case splitting procedure would have a crack case useable and need repair if even possible most people would think your heating the bearing to remove it from the casees .lack of information
