I haven't got a link I own a manual and it has a cut through drawing of both seals. The spring in the seal should face the oil like the stator side does
I'm about to do a top end on my 05 soon, what size piston should I go for? Stock cylinder so I'm thinking 66.37mm? That sound right? Am I wanting a 0.05mm clearance from piston to bore?
Hey I recently got a 1985 Suzuki rm250 and after 1 hour it blew up sadly. I took the jug off and the piston was destroyed and it scarred the cylinder sleeve. I’m trying to get this bike fixed but not really sure where to start tbh.
Ive watched countless bike engine build videos. This one is probably the best.
Same and agreed
Never had bearings rust after freezing. You use assembly lube on install. I personally lube everything when I build motors
Youve put the crank seal in backward its going to smoke like crazy. On this model it looks like its backward but its the way its designed to be.
post a link showing what youre talking about please.

That crank seal is backwards the spring and lip should face the fluid side.
Exactly. Even some manufacturers manuals get the pictures wrong.

Have the cases split but know nada about putting it back together
On your 2002 rm, the manual shows the spring side on the out of the motor on the clutch side. I think it was put on backwards
Gearbox side crank seal should be installed opposite to what you’ve done. Spring retainer faces out.
You put the crank seal in backwards.
Well did the engine run properly with the crank seal being backwards?
This guy is a class act letting you record especially record! Id like to buy him a beer
I just got the 96RM 250 needs all put together on motor never done it going to be a journey
I’m currently doing my 01 rm250 bottom end. My crank seal was in the same orientation yours was. Is it possible that’s the way it’s supposed to go?
Yes
For the 02 model, is there any part of the power valve mechanism that connects to the bottom end/case or is it all in the barrel only.
What year is this ?
Excellent build 👍🇬🇧

I’ve got a 89 ds80 and I’m not sure the gaskets are gonna fit
The Clymer manual literally says not to use a torch on the casing because it will cause the casing to lose its tempering
Only loses its temper if it’s heated to 5-600 degrees
@@tightropehikes where are you getting your info? Or are you just a self proclaimed expert
@@jaycox6096 I make axes and I’m familiar with various metals being heated and subsequently tempered.
@tightropehikes6994 so I guess the team at Clymer doesn't know anything and you're the big master of metallurgy. Lmfao
@@jaycox6096 your right. This build has failed and likely snapped in half
Where are you from and how much do you charge
Just blew up my 01 rm250 going to try to rebuild it this month any tips
How did it go? I just blew mine up a couple hours ago any tips?😂
It freezes the bearing before hammering in 😢
Who did you use for the cylinder head exchange program
Millennium Technologies
Why not order the crank from Wisco
What year is this rebuild for I need to do my 99 RM 250
It’s for 2001-2007
WHAT YEAR IS THE BIKE

Bro I have the same year bike
Might as well change all the bearing while youve got it in pieces like that.. thats juste me tough
